This product would get a 5 star rating if Dell phone support knew what they were doing! Absolutely wast of time talking or chatting with Dell. I received conflicting answers to a compatibility question & was then rerouted to several departments before being cut off twice. Now back to the product. I had originally purchased the 17.3" model, but it suffered from excessive fan noise. This one is very quiet & doesn't seem to get hot. I like the keyboard even without the numeric keypad. It is solidly built & look good too. I think this Dell is a good value when you compare features with HP Envy models. It's too bad Dell support is useless. Actually, worse than useless since they are prone to giving wrong information.

    Not Flashy, but Solid

After two frustrating weeks with the attractive but flimsy Lenovo Yoga, I exchanged it for this Dell and have been pleased with my decision thus far. The Inspiron is definitely bulker than the Yoga and slower to start up (due, I suspect, to Dell's excess bloatware and a kitchy biometric ID system) but overall it feels to me like a far more solidly built machine. I especially love the soft feel of the keyboard, which is not something I have ever noticed as an attractive feature before. So, a hair slower on startup and a bigger size, but I expect this Dell will last me much longer than the Yoga would have done.

Very fast and stable. Would like to have a couple more USB drives, two is better than one and allows for a hub. Windows 10 is not to bad, I am still learning the ways to use it.

I bought this one today and I can say that this laptop is excellent. This laptop is very quiet even while performing many tasks parallelly. Sound quality is excellent. I am not a gamer. But I guess this can play some kind of games because of its processor and intel graphics 520. Overall pretty much satisfied and I bought this one after returning 3 laptops.

Good Performance for the price but speakers ?

The price and the specs for this laptop was excellent. The display was very good and exceeded my expectations. However, one thing that was bad was the speakers. Im not sure if this was a driver problem or an assembling issue but for some reason whenever i play music through my speakers I always get this crackling/static noise and I dont know how to fix it our how to get rid of it. Im not sure if its like this for all dell inspiron 15's

    Disapointed

After looking at the specs and reviews of this laptop I was looking forward to get it once I ordered it. I received it and the first day I was really glad. Then the problems started; Batter life is awful. 1%=1 minute, which gives the laptop 100 minute battery top, which is really bad. The pad is really annoying. It responds whenever it wants to clicking. The only good thing about this laptop is the speed, it really goes fast as I expected. I must have gotten a defective item a ts my experience is very different to most reviews i've read. Anyways, i will return and go back to HP.

    NO NUMERIC KEYPAD

I will return this computer because it does not have a numeric keypad. I do a lot of spread sheets and accounting and not having a numeric keypad is a drawback. Pictures are misleading since they only show the front of the computer. I have never seeing a picture of the keyboard; Dell hides it. A 15 inch, $1000 dollar computer should have a numeric keypad.

    Terribly disappointed

I would not recommend buying this computer. The computer cost quite a lot yet it left me completely disappointed. Namely the problem with this computer is it's hinges/joints. As it's made to be able to flip into a tablet mode, the hinges were made quite small and complex. After only TWO MONTHS of usage, both of the hinges broke, they sort of dislodged and the computer started terribly misperforming. The computer 'freezes' SEVERAL times a day (meaning that I have to force restart it), the mouse pad sometimes doesn't respond properly (or at all), and ofcourse as the hinges are actually broken that means that I cannot shut or open the screen anymore. We somehow managed to push the screen to a right angle (90 degree angle) and so it's somehow possible to use it. As the screen can not be moved anymore, it means that I cannot shut it and take it to the lectures and so it remains stationary, here on my table. Odd thing is that I did not even use it in tablet mode (I did not flip the screen), I only flipped it open and shut- and that's what it took to break the joints. When I purchased this computer I also got a one year guarantee, but that does not apparently cover these kind of things. I purchased this computer in the U.S but I'm studying in the UK and we don't have any local Dell offices where I could go down to, which means that it's also going to be a fuss to get it fixed. Performance wise I've also been somewhat let down. I paid big money for this computer and I was expecting to get a rather strong performing and a reliable computer. I'm an engineering student so I need to use AutoCAD and other performance-demanding softwares but it barely manages to run them. And the games also don't run very well on this computer. So in overall, I've been let down by the computers huge design flow (the hinges/joints) and also a bit disappointed by it's performing abilities. I would not recommend this computer to anybody, especially if you're a student who's willing to pay big money in hopes of getting a strong, reliable and a long-lasting computer (like me).

Worst laptop I have ever bought in my life

I bought this laptop in July 2016 and commented and gave 4-star rate a weeks months ago. However, as time goes by, the problem started to occur over and over again. The system froze once in my exam room (see my previous comment), but I thought it was my bad luck. Nowadays, the system freezes everyday. The program that I used is only google chrome and I opened no more than 5 windows on chrome. I installed no games and no heavy programs. In this laptop, there is Microsoft Office and @Risk program. I am not sure, if these programs are considered to much for this computer. Today, the system froze 3 times already. If possible, I will just simply return this laptop and buy a new one. I have quite enough patience with Dell already. A three-month laptop has the system freezing problem everyday. I cannot expect any worse from Dell. I reported this issue to Dell. There was mails between me and the technical staff. He was actually helpful and active, but he still could not solve my problem after a few weeks of interactions. By the way, there is no other support than the instructions on my email. No phone call and no site visit yet. To conclude my feedback, just simply buy something else, but Dell, especially this model. You do not want to have your problem in the exam room just like I did. You do not want to find problems right after 14-day period. DON"T BUY THIS MODEL!!!!!!!!

    Poor quality

Bought this laptop a ear ago because I spilled water on my old one then later realized I could still use it with an external keyboard which ended up working out so I didn't have to use this Dell laptop I bought. One other reason why I don't use it as much is that it starts super slow(approx. 30min) before you can even open anything then it just freezes up. I spent nearly $1000.00 for this computer that is hardly used which is a waste. My old computer that I spilled water on worked a lot better!
