This is a fast laptop at the right price and comes with everything I needed. This laptop features a beautiful bright IPS touchscreen. There is plenty of computing power from the latest Intel 7th gen i7 CPU. It comes with fast 512 GB SSD drive. It has 12 GB of system RAM which is plenty. Laptop feels solidly made and feels light. I got this when it was on sale $799.

    Super 2 in 1

Replaced a my Mac pro 15 (Daughter took it!) with this 2 in 1 and I couldn't be happier. Its ultra fast and runs everything I need. The screen brightness is on the dull side compared to the retina display but very sharp and clear. Although I don't use the touch screen to much its nice to have when I use this as a tablet (stand it up like a tent, great for reading recipes when cooking or watching netflix). The keyboard has a good feel to it and easy to type on (back lit too!) and the touch pad in pretty nice. It's well built and feels solid when handling. If there is one thing I don't like about it it's where they put the power button. It's on the right hand side of the laptop and almost everytime I move the laptop the palm of my hand hits the power button and put the computer to sleep, it really needs to be moved to the upper right hand corner of the keyboard. Anyhow great laptop in my opinion.

I bought this laptop to replace my old Toshiba. I had trouble finding a well optioned laptop at a good price point and with a good fit and finish. Its fairly compact and super quick. I was able to pick this up around Xmas for $200 off! Runs very cool and quite due to the SSD. The touch screen is very responsive and webpages load and open quickly. The backlit keyboard is an added bonus. My only negatives are that I wish it had a numeric keypad, the power button is in a bad spot, the factory power cord is a bit short compared to what I'm used to and it has a straight plug instead of a 90 degree plug.

So far, so good. Very easy to use. I purchased the laptop for use at school and haven't heard any complaints so far. The battery life is pretty good considering they use it most of the day for school work. I would definitely recommend this laptop for students. The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars is because I have had limited time using the product.

Excellent so far, bought in store (great customer service and in-stock), easy to open and set up (less than 10 minutes), quiet while running and fast boot up due to ssd. Obviously if you need to do CD/DVD installs buy an external

    Great PC

I had a high end Acer laptop, and the the hard drive crashed 6 month in not to mention the battery life was terrible, and would only last 3 hours. This, as a college student just didn't work out very well for me. I then purchased a Lenovo Miix 700 hybrid, and after a week it wouldn't turn on. So, I thought I would give this dell a try. I was a little nervous at first, but I am so glad that I purchased this PC. The equivalent Mac is $2500+, and I picked this up on sale for $799.99. The display is flawless, the keyboard is great, and the dual tablet functionality is my favorite part. This PC handles multiple programs at once obviously with no lag due to the 12GB of ram, everything is just great. The battery lasts 7-8 hours with heavy usage throughout the day. Oh, and one more thing, the trackpad. I have had so many problems with track pads on windows PC's. Not this one-flawless. I have zero complaints about this computer.

    Something to consider ...

I recently purchased an ultrabook - very thin, light, powerful and expensive.. I returned it after just one day. I, like many, initially assumed the thinnest and lightest laptop is desired or even essential. I can tell you that for me, it turned out that it was simply too thin and too light (if you can imagine such a thing). I actually like that this Dell is a bit bulkier. To me it feels a lot more natural to hold this in your lap and type on it. It doesn't feel like it's going to topple over or break easily. It also doesn't seem to get as warm - more room in the case. Perhaps coming from a larger 17 laptop is part of why I feel this way - but I wanted to give this perspective in case it helps someone. I think everything else about this laptop has been said in other reviews - it checks all the boxes for a 2017 laptop and more ....

    Nice laptop when on sale

At the sale price of $800 (regular $1000), nothing else came close to having same processor, RAM, solid-state drive, etc. Boots up quickly, runs quietly. Kind of large and heavy to use as a tablet. If a version without touch screen and 2-in-1 was available for less money, I would have bought it. Keyboard is not as nice as my old Dell laptop. It is also about 1/2 inch further back from the front edge. Doesn't sound like much difference, but enough for my watch band to catch. Would be nice if there were props on the bottom back to be able to tilt the keyboard towards you a little. The backlit keyboard has a dimmer slide, but only 3 settings: bright, medium, and off. Also some of the light from some of the LEDs under the function keys shine out into your eyes unless you are more above the keys.

Day 5: I brought up my computer from sleep mode and logged in. I went to Chrome. It crashed. I had to end the task. I then tried it again. Same result. Then I tried Microsoft Edge. Same result. Finally, I just shut down the system and rebooted. Everything was back to normal. Day Nine. The same thing happened to me. Finally, I went to Dell's support website and it autodetected that three drivers were out of date. One of these had to do with WiFi. Hopefully, this fixes the problem. ---- Other issues: -During the computer's setup, the microphone didn't work. However, this problem was immediately solved with Windows Update. -Windows Hello only works in the right light. It takes a black & white photo of you. So, it doesn't make sense why it works sometimes and why it doesn't at others. ------ Overall, the computer is very fast. An example of this is with running Android Studio and bringing up an emulator while streaming a course video in 720p. Loading my emulator is just a tick slower than when my online instructor does so on his Mac whilst recording his screen activity and audio at the same time. That Mac was was 2.67x more money than this computer. My downloads and installations are also very quick. For example, when I was downloading Dell's autodetect driver software, it said the installation could take several minutes. It took under ten seconds.

    Great Laptop

I just purchased this laptop a few weeks ago, so I figured I should post my first thoughts. The short of it is that this is a fantastic laptop, but here's some nitty gritty: - I like Windows 10 much better than I thought I would. Very customizable, sleek and fast. Not very much bloatware, and what was there was easy to get rid of. I don't like that I can't delete Microsoft Edge, but it's not a very big deal. - SSD is fast, responsive and quiet. Love it. Start up is more than fast enough. 512 GB is big enough to keep pretty much every program you'd need on the computer. I still plan to buy an external HDD, however, to store photos and music and things like that. - Has been able to run all the programs and games I've tried so far. Handled Minecraft, Civ 5 well. It does get a bit hot sometimes during longer sessions of gaming. As I understand it, there is not a fan built in. But that's okay, I shouldn't be playing for too long at a time anyways. - It is a little heavy. I don't really have anything to compare it to, but when I carry the laptop in my backpack I definitely feel some strain on my shoulders in addition to all my books and binders and whatnot. - 15.6" screen is a perfect size. Screen seems bright and crisp, but again, I don't have much experience with it. Editing photos has been just fine, and the colors seem realistic. - I didn't think I would care for the touchscreen and 2-in-1 capabilities, but I LOVE them. So futuristic, and although they're totally unnecessary, I think all my future purchases will include them. I got this laptop on sale for $850, and I think that's a perfect price point.

I am Dell Laptop fan. This is my 4th Dell laptop and one of the best right now, I ever purchased. It is really past in terms of speed. You can also extend RAM to 16 GB(but trust me you don't need that). This is the perfect 360 laptop, you can buy at this price. The touch is work pretty well and also Touchpad work awesome. This laptop is definitely worth the money. It has all the thing you want like SSD, i7, RAM, c type, USB 3.0, 360, touch screen. It was good experience while you use it has a tablet mode(I never experienced that but now I used to do that lot). It was a perfect size for me because I used multitasking much time so 15.6" is perfect for me.(You can also buy 13.3" if you like small laptop,it's same and work as good as this one). Just go ahead and buy it. I will recommend everyone who DELL laptop fan. And if you are not then just buy this product and you will.

It is a nice and very fast laptop. The CPU jumps to 3.5ghz when running intensive programs. The drive gives me new experience about boot time. It take 6seconds to be in the windows 10 from power on. Very nice look and aluminum body. Similar specs in lenovo is priced much higher.

I really like the performance of this computer, fast start up and shut down, and easy to set up and use. The only issue is that the microphone does not work properly by randomly cutting in and out, even after updating to the latest drivers, so we will be taking it in for Geek Squad service under warranty

The speakers/headphones pop every time I hit play on anything. Or just about every 30 seconds when nothing is playing. Its really annoying, there's got to be a way to fix it. Has anyone else had this problem?

Had to disable the touch screen

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I had to return the first laptop after a day. Applications would shut down randomly. Best Buy was great, they exchanged the unit on the spot. The replacement worked fine for about three months until it too started to randomly minimize and shut down applications. It appears to suffer from the dreaded ghost touch phenomenon as well. There are a number of documented cases on various forums, so not an isolated issue. Disabling the touch screen seems to resolve the issue. I have not had time to explore warranty options. Since I am not a fan of smudges and fingerprints on the screen, I may just leave it as a 1 in 1 laptop. I love the super-fast boots and the overall performance of the unit, but if you are looking for a 2 in 1, I would not recommend it.
