I was told it was the 4th computer of that model with that problem in one day.

Great computer

It is fast and has great storage. It’s been 3 years and I have used and abused it . I plan to purchase the same computer again now that it has crashed out on me

Two Dell computers two crashed

Did not have replacement in stock. I had to settle for 15” and it crashed within 6 weeks. Did restore. Hope it lasts. So disappointed in quality

I have provided a link below to help troubleshoot and resolve the crashing issue.

Resolutions
1. Run a Computer Diagnostic. To determine if your computer is experiencing a hardware problem, run the Dell Pre-boot System Assessment (PSA) Diagnostics. For information on how to run Diagnostics, and to determine the issue, refer to Dell Knowledge Base Article: http://dell.to/2iaiujA
2. Check Safe Mode for Symptoms. To boot into safe mode, please follow the instructions below:
a) Start the computer.
b) Tap 'F8' on the keyboard immediately and every second until the Dell logo screen disappears. From there you will see the Windows Advanced Options Menu on the screen. (If the Windows Advanced Options Menu does not appear, restart the system and try again.)
c) Select Safe mode with Networking and press Enter.
d) Log on as the administrator or as a user with administrative access.
e) Open applications and test the computer in safe mode. If the symptoms exist in safe mode, please continue the troubleshooting steps in this article. If the symptoms do not exist in safe mode, the issue is likely related to a driver or software and you may wish to complete step 3 to see if you are able to resolve the lockups or freezing.
3. Check for Malware. Malware (Virus, Spyware, etc.) can definitely cause a Windows system to lock up or appear to hang. To check for malware on your system and to ensure that your computer is up to date on security software, visit Dell Knowledge Base Article: http://dell.to/2wWP1zI

We will share your comments about these issues with our quality team, so future improvements can be made.
To help with performance issues, I have provided steps to using the Windows Performance Troubleshooter which should help resolve the performance issue. I have also provided a link to the full article that has more options if needed.
Windows performance Troubleshooter:
1. Close all open windows.
2. Press the Windows logo key + X key on the keyboard.
3. Click Control Panel.
4. Click System and Security.
5. Under Security and Maintenance, select Troubleshoot common problems.
6. Under System and Security, click Run maintenance tasks.
7. Follow the on-screen instructions and prompts to complete the process.
8. Restart the PC.

Below I have provided some resolutions to the WIFI issue. I have also provided the full article link, which has more options if they are needed. I have also included a link to the Drivers and Downloads page for your PC so you can check for applicable updates to the WIFI drivers.
1. Download and install the latest Wireless Card driver. (https://dell.to/2th3Tpe) After updating the driver, re-establish the connection with the Wireless Access Point and check the wireless performance.
2. If the issue persists, proceed to step 3.
3. Power-cycle the local network. Shut down the Dell system, the Wireless Access Point/Router, and the Modem. Wait a minimum of 60 seconds before powering up the components in the following order:
4. Power ON the Modem and wait for it to boot fully.
5. Power ON the Wireless Access Point/Router and wait for it to boot fully.
6. Power ON the Dell system.
7. Open Network and Sharing Center
8. In the left-side navigation pane, click on Change Adapter Settings
9. Right-click on the wireless connection icon and select Properties followed by the Configure button
10. Under Wireless Options, select the Wireless N mode
11. For Windows 8 or later systems click the Advanced tab and look for 802.11n Mode on the right you will be given the option to Enable or Disable. If the mode is not visible you may need to update your drivers and firmware.
12. From the drop-down menu, choose Disable followed by Ok
13. This should restore the wireless download and upload speed. Internet speed can be tested at http://speedtest.net

Not the best.

I am unhappy mainly because typing on the keyboard is very uncomfortable and difficult. I previously had a Dell laptop that I loved and finally had to replace it after many years because of the windows upgrade. Also I have had numerous problems with the audio and that is the one thing I told the Best buy salesperson I was interested in. Also I find the touchpad is very touchy and difficult to use. I would definitely choose something else at this point. On the positive side, I have to say the battery life is really great.

Performs Well with a Sleek Design and Solid Feel

I'm not a gamer, just a documents and web surfing kind of guy and use this primarily for RDP connections to a high performance desktop. Locally I use it for web work and games such as Solitaire, Yahtzee, Backgammon, Scrabble - nothing too modern/resource intensive. I knocked two stars off because Dell insists on 'over-managing' when to do updates, McAffee purchase, etc., with no easy way to turn those features off. Also, I purchased a similar laptop to this in a 15" form factor 6 months earlier and the after many years of using the plug from the 7.4x5.0 mm 'D' series systems, they changed to a 4.5x3.0mm plug. After donating about a dozen of the 'D' series adapters and purchasing a couple of the smaller ones, I find 6 months down the road that they have now converted to a USB C power connector. I'm all for moving to that standard, but you need to factor in the cost of additional power bricks if you are like me and want to be able to move your laptop from room to room without the hassle of unplugging the power adapter, carrying it with you and plugging it in again plugging it in again several times a day. And since the power adapters are a high markup item for Dell, you are looking at close to $100.00 for a couple additional adapters. In my experience, lower cost third party adapters can be a bit of a risk in compatibility/functionality. Dell should at least offer and upgrade discount on power adapters when you have spent a small fortune purchasing several from them that they then choose to obsolete. I should add that I purchased this from BestBuy with a very nice discount and I would rate its value differently if I had paid full price.

Love it

I finally broke down and bought this as a replacement. I got it on sale and boy do I love it. Boots super fast. Battery life is excellent and it's pretty light. I'm not a gamer. I am a paralegal who works from home. Love this laptop
