    Worst laptop. Not buying DELL again.

    I bought last December, in less than a year, one USB port stopped working, had to replace battery because it was getting hot and it was expanding very fast, also built in speakers stopped working. Only way to hear music or video is Bluetooth speakers. I have used many laptops, this is the worst laptop i had. Never buying DELL laptop again.

    very good but still have some glitch. it's heavy and the graphics is not as good as I expected. the face id thing is pretty good though.

    Not fully loaded...sent wrong technician to home call.. the first laptop needed to be exchanged got a lemon! Been a process ..too many trips to store..next appt 3/09...

    Overall, this is a great laptop. Clear / bright screen, plenty of power for business use, etc. Only complaints, which are minor, are 1) trackpad is very big - making it too easy to register errant scrolls and clicks and 2) usb-c ports are only on the left side - ports on both sides would have been ideal. Other than that, the laptop has been great. I'd definitely make the same choice if buying again.

    Best Buy is the WORST in Customer Service

    I bought 10 "open box" Dell notebook computers as Christmas gifts. All were deemed "good" condition; one "excellent." In truth, all were in bad to fair condition. 2 were missing power AC adapters bought from the Waldorf, MD store and Springfield, PA store. BestBuy online chat, telephone and in-store staff are impuissant and incapable of rendering any customer service. Instead, they parrot policies and procedures that are nonsense. Specifically, when requesting merely to have them send to me a power AC adapter for the 2 that are missing, they all direct me to go to the store for this missing part. The problem: these were online orders. Why waste time at a store if they can simply ship out the missing power AC adapter. Lack of competition has made Best Buy worse than the USPS and driver / license bureaus/departments. I hope Amazon eats their lunch so they know what customer service should be about. Bad bad bad.

    Out of the box, the Dell Inspiron 7620 2-in-1 16” OLED Touch laptop is easy to set up and a breeze to use.  Love the finger print reader. The OLED screen is AWESOME.  I’m not positive, but maybe the nature of an OLED display requires a bit more energy…thus creating the extra heat. I didn’t experience any lag in performance due to the heat, but over time, it may degrade the life of the battery. I’m no expert, but this seems to be simple science. Only time will tell. The i7 processor makes quick work of anything that I ever plan to do. The most demanding things I’d be taking on would be photo and video editing (hooray for the OLED display!) Family pictures and videos, so not too much. Outside of that, just the normal web browsing/shopping, checking emails, and the occasional streaming of music and movies. I did notice that the fan is loud and the computer becomes hot pretty fast. I know this is a laptop — but if you were to take that literally, the tops of your thighs would quickly become uncomfortable, and you probably wouldn’t be allowing enough air circulation to help the fan out. Anyway… I am using the my finger print to sign in (which was easy to set up) and works well and is fast. I normally don’t think of a laptop as producing decent sound, and I would tend to use headphones or earbuds while streaming.  But this Inspiron may be a game changer in this category. This thing has a quad speaker setup — and it tracks your position (using the camera) and adjusts the sound accordingly. This is cool! The stylus works well but there is nowhere to put it — no cradle, no magnet…nothing (that I’ve found). This means it would be easy to lose, at least for me. Battery life is excellent...after plugging in and fully charging the battery, I was able to use the computer for hours streaming music and video. Maybe the extra heat that this unit seems create is a non-factor. All-in-all, this Dell is a quality product. One star off for the excessive (to me) heat.
