Out of the box, the Dell Inspiron 7620 2-in-1 16” OLED Touch laptop is easy to set up and a breeze to use.  Love the finger print reader. The OLED screen is AWESOME.  I’m not positive, but maybe the nature of an OLED display requires a bit more energy…thus creating the extra heat. I didn’t experience any lag in performance due to the heat, but over time, it may degrade the life of the battery. I’m no expert, but this seems to be simple science. Only time will tell. The i7 processor makes quick work of anything that I ever plan to do. The most demanding things I’d be taking on would be photo and video editing (hooray for the OLED display!) Family pictures and videos, so not too much. Outside of that, just the normal web browsing/shopping, checking emails, and the occasional streaming of music and movies. I did notice that the fan is loud and the computer becomes hot pretty fast. I know this is a laptop — but if you were to take that literally, the tops of your thighs would quickly become uncomfortable, and you probably wouldn’t be allowing enough air circulation to help the fan out. Anyway… I am using the my finger print to sign in (which was easy to set up) and works well and is fast. I normally don’t think of a laptop as producing decent sound, and I would tend to use headphones or earbuds while streaming.  But this Inspiron may be a game changer in this category. This thing has a quad speaker setup — and it tracks your position (using the camera) and adjusts the sound accordingly. This is cool! The stylus works well but there is nowhere to put it — no cradle, no magnet…nothing (that I’ve found). This means it would be easy to lose, at least for me. Battery life is excellent...after plugging in and fully charging the battery, I was able to use the computer for hours streaming music and video. Maybe the extra heat that this unit seems create is a non-factor. All-in-all, this Dell is a quality product. One star off for the excessive (to me) heat.

• The machine’s packaging is streamline and super easy to unbox. • The quick start pamphlet affords the new user a really simple series of set up steps with stripped down graphics that a kindergartner can follow. • The font of the Warranty brochure is teeny weeny. For some, a magnifying glass may be required but the full License and User Agreement with all Privacy Policy, Dispute Options, etc can be studied during the Login process. • The Usage and Policy details indicates how carefully DELL administrators are keeping tabs on consumer concerns and sentiments about surveillance and privacy issues. • Lots of options are afforded the user to decline access to personal information; but, of course, functionality may be reduced in some cases. • For instance, to afford all who use a ‘band aid’ to cover your web cam as protection against peeping hackers, DELL’S sliding privacy webcam cover is a novel relief. • Zoom meeting today delivered higher resolution and better quality audio than my old unit. • At 5 lbs, the unit’s sleek design has a matte finish and color saturation that sports a next gen smooth as glass feel to the exterior and nav pad. • Though a tad reflective outdoors, the 16:10 screen affords wide angle viewing with a display sized to the unit’s very edge, leaving only a quarter inch frame. • 300 Nit brightness, OK for mid-range unit and suits my needs. • Really fun that you can flip the unit into a TENT PROFILE for presentations, movie viewing, tablet mode, etc • Even more fun is that the fancy, schmancy electronic STYLUS is included not only WITH a battery but with two pointer tips. Nice that I was saved the inconvenience of having to pony up the time, effort and money to search for a tiny accessory that could easily be a ‘given’. • BIGGER FUN is that the user can SWITCH BETWEEN TOUCH SCREEN, KEYBOARD and STYLUS without having to change settings. • Num Pad is not included but, the option to attach the accessory keyboard appears during the guided initialization as a reminder of its availability. • Migrating from my old WINDOWS 11 laptop was a breeze. Only a couple of non-Microsoft Apps required repairs or reinstalls, so far only BRAVE and my Hp 9010 Printer. Generally, cloud-based data transfers are a NO Hassle, one click if tracking is not a worry. • Lots of access, update options, knowledge base links pop up during set up i.e. for the Power Key Fingerprint Reader, Firmware, preference inquiries, et al • The unit seems versatile enough for a range of interests: from those who are the everyday office admin, web browsers, emailers and social media addicts to the gamers and content creators with skill sets requiring Photo Shop and video editing. • Will take my projects a while to exhaust 16 GB, 512 GB SSD Storage, UHD OLED Display 3840x2400, NVIDIA, upgradeable RAM, multi-port selection, and a removable back plate for switch outs. • When doing upgrades, forum said going by specs alone is not sufficient. Best to use DELL’s proprietary parts or a supplier who verifies compatibility and performance. • But the unit handles an extensive number of open windows and APPs juggled to track a multitude of minutiae. • Intel CORE i7 offers high ROI with fast processing speeds and quiet fan for general applications at a reasonable price point. • The keyboard is back lit and there are enough ports: HDMI/ USB A 3.2’s/ USB C 4.4/ SD Card Reader/ mic, headphone • Battery average ~ 7 hours for someone like me, not a dedicated gamer clocking frame rates and heat tolerances. Charges in under 2 hours. • Keepin’ the peace for others, I mostly use a blue tooth headset to protect others from my media, so quad speaker audio for VOIP, music and movies suits my needs. • Side note, have to wonder why McAFEE Security is offered if WINDOWS 11 DEFENDER is touted as covering all security bases. • DELL’s printed intro talks about their eco conscious use of bio plastics in design. On that note, more from DELL and other industry leaders to incentivize post-consumer recycling with credits and rewards would be timely, especially with so many pressures on planetary resources and to keep 1st world waste off the backs of others. • High marks for the DELL Inspiron 16. My basis for comparison has been years near this price point.

Needed this to run multiple applications at one. While doing technical writing. Runs seamless. Great feel to the keyboard, track pad, and overall laptop feels sturdy. Would recommend!

The Dell-Inspiron came with everything I was looking for and More. Including 2-Thunderbolt 4 Ports and USBc-3 Port. The UHD OLED screen makes looking at UHD photos a big step above a FHD.

Overall a great purchase and runs pretty fast for daily tasks. Haven't tried out gaming on this laptop so not sure how good the performance is on the high end.

When it powers up it could freeze and you need to press the button a few times.

Decent item, better for the price out there. Wish they included more space.

The Dell Inspiron 2-in-1 16" OLED Touch Laptop is a high performance machine. Equipped with the 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1260P @ 2.10 GHz, 16 GB DDR 4/3200 RAM and 512GB SSD, this laptop is a solid, lighting fast performer. Included in the box are the laptop, The USB-C power adapter, and a pen/stylus with an AAAA and two extra tips, all safely packaged in 100% cardboard packaging which is completely biodegradable. The deep green color of the case is beautiful, and it feels rigid and solidly built. The backlit keyboard is nearly identical in appearance and feel to that found on the MacBook/MacBook Pro for the last several years, but of course, the keys and layout are in the normal windows format. The large touchpad has excellent response and feel as well. On the right side are two USB-C/Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB 3.2 Type A Port, and one HDMI 1.4 port. On the right side are one USB 3.2 Type A port, one SD card slot, and one headset (headphone +mic) jack. Wirelessly, you have Bluetooth 5.2 and WiFi6 capability, so connectivity options are excellent. Powering up the system opens the typical Windows setup flow, which is relatively painless and has the machine up and running in just a few minutes. I don't feel like going through this process in detail is necessary since we've all used these types of installer/configuration programs many times. The large, UHD OLED display is stunning, but the graphics card is not intended for high end gaming, so if that is what you want, look at other models. for normal web browsing, phot viewing, or watching vide content, the display is excellent. I did play a little Fallout 76 on this machine, and the video quality was very nice. The sound quality from the four-speaker sound system was also excellent for a laptop. Battery life is also very good. I've been using the laptop off and on for two days as I write, probably about 5 hours total, and the battery indicator is still showing about 2/3 charged. The laptop also has the Alexa App installed. With teh app enabled, the PC has the ability to go to Echo Show mode whenever there is inactivity, and all Alexa functions are available. It's a pretty nice feature if you are already in that ecosystem. Finally, being able to turn the device into a tablet by rotating the display all the way around to the backside of the base is very nice. Using the pen to take notes or draw is fun, and I can imagine many uses for this for artists and engineers. Positioning the laptob keyboard face down with the display up allows the PC to be used to view videos or movies, controlling the PC with the touchscreen. This is great little laptop for the money, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

the body is beautiful however I'm not a fan of windows so it's going to take some getting used too.. IDK if I'm doing something wrong but each time i turn it on to use it,it's updating .. I need to be able to use my laptop right away like my mac. also sometimes it turns off and stuck waiting for it to turn on again..

great 2-in-1, needed to be able to draw things on-site and this allowed that as well as speed that I needed to move files

I want to love this laptop, but the fan comes on repeatedly. It's on for 5 seconds, then off for 30 seconds. It's loud enough to be distracting and I'm concerned that there is a problem. I have talked to techs at Dell, updated drivers, changed the thermal settings through My Dell, etc. No improvement. This laptop replaced another one I bought last week (also Dell) that also had issues. I returned that and got this. All I did was trade one problem for another. I'm on the fence about what to do next. I'm tired of setting up laptops only to realize after several hours that they have problems. I wonder if I return this one, what problem the next one will have? Such a disappointment. For the price-point, I shouldn't feel like I'm just tolerating it.

Fast start-up, great picture/audio quality, plenty of storage. There's nothing I don't like about this computer!

Great computer for college student! Good quality and great battery life.

I have had this computer for less than 3 months and it has blacked out 3 times. This is negatively impacting my business. First time I thought it was a fluke and now I'm learning its doing it periodically.

I purchased this laptop fir my sun to start college! He loves it! Runs faster great perks. Highly recommended.
