Function and performance are excellent. The OLED screen is phenomenal. The sound quality is outstanding. I had some disappointing laptop purchases, but this is not one of them. Money well spent.

Attractive with Beastly Performance

It is very unique while not being obnoxious, so it's perfect for both personal and professional settings. If you know the difference between OLED and LED technology, then you will immediately appreciate the display this laptop has to offer. You can achieve brilliant colors and super deep blacks. Plus, the super-thin bezels that Dell is generally known for on laptops make this screen beautiful. The track pad on this laptop reminds me that of a MacBook because it is super big. While I think its size is unnecessary, it does look and work great. The integrated fingerprint reader in the power button works as you might expect, so it makes logging into windows a snap. Unlike most laptops, the integrated webcam has a sliding privacy screen so you can block the lens when not in use. The quality of said webcam is, while not great, works perfectly fine for all the virtual meetings that are all too common these days. The keyboard deck feels great with a good amount of spacing between keys. Key travel is perfect and I felt comfortable typing out long documents without any strain. When it comes to performance, this laptop exceeded my expectations. It sports a 12th generation Intel i7 processor up to 4.7 gigahertz. Combined with 16 GB of RAM and a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce MX450 graphics processor, this laptop was able to fly through various applications all at once. For example, I am always using Adobe Creative Cloud with InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator open all at once. This is in addition to Microsoft Outlook and Excel along with various Chrome tabs open. The laptop performed like a trooper with no slow down. On a desk, this is perfect, but if the laptop is on your laps, then you might be in for a toasty surprise. Ventilation grills and a fan for this laptop is at the bottom, so when you are really working the processor, you can feel the heat radiating from the laptop. Additionally, I think it runs pretty warm in general as minutes after turning it on with no applications running, I was able to hear the cooling fan spin up. This laptop is 16 inches, so the footprint is pretty large. With that said, it strikes a great balance between thinness, performance, and flexibility. It's almost hard to remember that a laptop this size is a two-in-one. Flip the screen around and position it as a kiosk or twist it 360 degrees for a large tablet-like experience. An accessory pen makes digital inking or drawing on the screen a cinche. Or, if you're like me, it makes scrolling through web articles and blogs a breeze. Overall, if you're looking for a versatile computer with great performance, an incredible OLED screen, and two-in-one functionality, then you will find this Inspiron a treat.
