    I've had multiple dell laptops and found them very satisfactory, this dell inspiron 16 has been problematic from the start more than 20 hours of my time and at least 10 hours of Geek Squad time to get it sorted out. So, 3 stars is being generous!

    Overall it’s an ok computer. Had a little trouble with multitasking. I ultimately returned it but because I wanted the 14 and got the 16 by mistake. It was just too big for me

    TRASH! I would have never bought this laptop if I had known the memory was soldered. This should not be a thing in full size laptops! Best Buy should have mentioned this in the description/specifications. Seriously considering never buying Dell again.

    I purchased online for work however it was a little too heavy and big for me as I do travel quite often. I ended up returning for a smaller/lighter laptop.

    Broke after only 6 months, Poor service from Dell

    Complete junk. Display backlight stopped working after 6 months. Dell has replaced the motherboard TWICE and now it doesn't even turn on. They are now telling me I need to wait wait TWO MONTHS for other parts to arrive. Worst experience ever. I will never buy another Dell computer nor recommend them to anyone (and I've been recommending them since the 1990s). Never again.

    I really like the hardware on this machine. It’s densely built, doesn’t flex much at all, and has a high quality feel. The Dell software is a disappointment though. The screen is bright and crisp, with amazing contrast and a nice 16:10 ratio for more vertical space when working on documents, photos, and even surfing the web. The screen is a good density with 1200p vertical resolution rather than the old 16:9 1080p. Touch is dead accurate and does not pick up too much extra incidental contact with the screen. There was not a pen included, so I could not test that, but I have ordered one now. The power button doubles as a fingerprint reader, it works well enough, I think the actual sensor is too small on the button which necessitates repeated tried to get it to read, I think a Windows Hello capable camera is a much better option for speed and convenience. I’m pretty sure this line has models that do include that camera. The laptop starts up almost instantly from sleep, it seems to have a deep sleep state that it enters when I don’t use it for a day or so, but that only adds a few seconds to the wake when I open it up. I think that trade-off is well worth the battery saved while sleeping. This has two real live USB5/Thunderbolt 3 ports that run full speed and can support charging, displays, docks, desktop drives. Wonderful!!! The charger does not have an annoying blue light on it, another success! The charger gets a little warm when charging a low battery, but never gets hot. I do with the charger had a removable USB-C cable to make it a little easier to travel with and to replace that section when it inevitably goes bad. High wattage chargers are becoming very common and reasonably priced now, so it should not be an issue when it comes time to replace it. The trackpad is large and has good palm rejection, typing is pleasant and the key spacing is good. If I have nothing to really complain about here, Dell did a good job. The fan runs almost continuously, ramping up and down audibly. I do not know if this is a hardware problem or a software problem as we get in to the “My Dell” application that has control over some screen, power, and sound settings. I have had nothing but problems with it so far. The software opened when I first got the computer, but after “SupportAssist” updated it, it disappeared, but the back end of the software still has it’s hooks in Windows, so I can not figure out why the heat issues when I’m just reading on the web. Dell offered me some tech support boilerplate that was supposed to fix it, but I had already been through all the steps they offered and I got no results. My recommendation is to do a clean installation of Windows 11, then install whatever (or no) Dell software you want to have on the machine. Windows is pretty good at taking care of itself now, so I’m not sure what utility SupportAssist will offer to an experienced user. McAfee is a take it or leave it affair, if you don’t want it, make sure to uninstall it. So basically, this seems to be a well made laptop hobbled by the manufacturer’s own software, I think a clean install of Windows 11 would do this machine wonders.

    I actually like this item, but I had to buy it, because I bought another brand that turned out to be a lemon. And despite many calls to the Geek Squad, coming into their stores, and twice leaving it at the store for day, Best Buy refused to give me my money back or an in-store credit.

    Get a Macbook. This device is terrible. Performamce is slow. The touch screen is slow in responses. The device takes forever to dowload. I took it back and got a macbook 15 inch air as i want a larger screen than my macbook 14 pro. I use them both with no issues. Do not get a Dell, HP or Asus becauee they are bad quality.

      2. On the options list, click Power Options.
      3. Select a power plan on the battery meter, such as Power Saver or Balanced. Windows 10 has a built-in 'Battery Saver' mode that can be activated to extend your system's battery life. The Battery Saver mode will monitor and limit background activity and other features such as push notifications. You do have the option to enable or disable this mode within settings or within advanced Battery Saver settings, you can customize the mode to best suit your needs.
