Laptop
Unboxing: The laptop came in non identifiable concealed box, nicely packed. Includes a charger and power cord.
First impression: It is a huge 16 inch screen real state, more than enough to work on anything. Full HD, touch screen is gorgeous. blacks are deep, colors are crisp and sharp. touch is precise and sensitive. You can fold it make it a tablet. However because of it’s size, I prefer the laptop mode more useful to me. May be few people may like the tablet mode. It is good to have an option when in need, such as where space is limited like airplane train seat.
Set-up and updates:
Like any other laptop, I plugged it to charge, and turn on. set up was a smooth. It ask for Microsoft account, however you can setup as local machine. I use my Microsoft e-mail. Connect to wifi and after adding my information and a few other details. There were a bunch of updates waiting to be installed. Including firmware and other. It took approximately 25 -35 min to complete the update process, 2 restarts. The laptop remained calm and cool. No heat or fan humming.
The 4 updates 3 from intel and one from Realtek couldn’t get installed even after few tries on the first day.
Then I head up to windows store that also had approx. 50 updates to be installed. The installation was quick and finished like a breeze. I decided to run dell support assistant to see if that can take care of the driver update. Support assistant indeed identified 6 drivers needs updates. Within 5 min all updates downloaded without any issues. Seems dell support assistant was better at handling critical driver updates than windows updates Couldn’t get done. I would recommend users to give this a try if windows update fails. It took around 20 min to complete from download to install.
Touch pad:
Precision touched is great - long and wide size to glide on. It has plenty of space, sensitivity is good and, clicks are soft and optimum. it support multitouch. (Screen also supports multitouch and gestures).
Screen:
The screen resolution ranges from 800 x 600 to full hd 1920 x 1200 i feel dell should have given at least 2k but it might be good to keep the long battery life. The display is gorgeous and wide has plenty of room to work on professional softwares, photo/ video editing.
Functionality:
Programs launch almost instantaneously. The sound is great, the speakers are loud enough to fill the room if you are watching the movie or listening to music. 16 inches of screen is great for personal movie watching. I is a powerhouse, Intel core i7 EVO with 16GB RAM is more than enough for if you want to through some serious computing work. It is a great machine for regular and advance household and personal/professional work. Speakers are loud and fill the small room with nice sound.
Battery:
I am impressed with the battery backup. I watched 2 movies back to back in full HD and a few you tube videos in 4K. The batter was 80% when I started and still left around 45% when I finished.
Overall: Dell pack a good amount of power in this machine, it is a bit heavy for regular commute, that’s expected because it is 16 inch. its EVO certified so you are sure you are getting a certified powerhouse. There are an HDMI and two thunderbolt 4/USC-C ports. I am happy with the performance and solid build quality and I recommend this laptop.

I bought two Dell laptops in the black friday week as a christmas gifts for my husband and me. My husband started using it after christmas and no issues. He was working with MS Word most of the time. But around January the operating system was corrupted. I did a factory reset and worked well for a few days and crashed again. And I did another reset factory and crashed. Sadly the return time passed and Geek Squak recommended to call Dell.
After a long long talk with Dell, I was able to send the laptop to Dell for repair.
I am really desapoinment with Dell, if I can, I would like to return the two laptops and buy HP laptops.
My laptop, also crashed one time and I did a reset factory. But I can't place my files, because, I am afraid to loose them. Still, I continue testing and checking it everyday.
I attached the photos when the system crashed. Get stuck in the Dell logo and I have to turn off to get some respond and finally the system shows the next screen and from there the only option is reset or factory reset.
I will update the rating, as soon as Dell resolve the issue and my laptop doesn't crash again.

I have been using my new laptop for almost 2 weeks now and I am very happy with its performance. Here are my observations.
In its silver aluminum body, the laptop looks very sleek. The design is good and usual. As it is a 2-in-1 laptop, it comes with 360 degree hinges which allows it to be used as a tablet or in a tent like mode that I use to watch movies/shows/videos. It is compatible with stylus/pen. The 16" full HD+ display is good for all kind of uses and it has 16:10 aspect ratio which is better for productivity (on apps like excel or coding IDEs). The keyboard is good, keys are responsive and the touch pad is pretty large. There is an integrated fingerprint reader on the power button which makes logging on easy and quick.
There are a number of ports (2 thunderbolt 4.0, 1 HDMI 1.4, 2 USB-A, 1SD-Card reader and 1 headphone jack) and connectivity options (WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2). It also has 1080p webcam which has a privacy shutter as well. The video quality of the webcam is pretty good. There are 4 speakers which provide decent sound. It comes with a 65W charger. The battery life is good (~10 hours).
With 16 GB RAM, Intel i7 EVO processor and 1 TB SSD, it is a very powerful machine and is able to handle multiple applications at the same time. I haven't used it for some intense tasks like video editing etc. but I think it will be able to handle that. This is not good for hardcore gaming though.
Overall, I am very happy with this laptop and will recommend it for you day-to-day work and fun/entertainment needs.

Known overheating issue- wish I had known before

Nice looking computer, but I found out after purchase that this model has a known overheating issue (just look online for the 7630). The first time I noticed a problem was when I was running the windows setup and first day updates... it got very hot on the left side, but it cooled down after the updates. So I rationalized it as just doing a lot of heavy work and didn't think much of it. However, tonight when I shut the lid it heated up significantly, with the fans going full speed like it was trying to fly away, while the computer was asleep! It got so hot that the base, left side of the keyboard, back edge along the bottom of the screen, and yes even the back of the screen (the lid!!) was hot. I am so very disappointed because the computer was overall excellent otherwise.
The dark spots in the picture are just the shadows from my hands and head :)

Well rounded and powerful

The Dell i7630-7312SLV-PUS is a well-rounded laptop with great battery life, strong performance, and several features that make it optimal for home or professional use.
Design/build: The chassis is constructed of brushed aluminum with a slim profile design. The 2-in-1 touchscreen format can be used in traditional, tent, or tablet mode. Build quality feels solid and reliable. Weight is moderate. The machine has two USB-C Thunderbolt 4.1 compatible ports, two USB-A 3.2 ports, one standard sized SD card reader, one standard sized HDMI port, and one 3.5mm audio port. It also has a huge multi-gesture trackpad, quad-speakers, integrated fingerprint reader in the power button, backlit keyboard, and a full HD webcam. The webcam is clear and sharp in bright lighting. It’s even pretty good in low light compared to the cameras I usually get on a laptop. The camera works well for meetings but is not compatible with Windows Hello. The fingerprint reader provides the only biometric login capability. The reader is accurate and seldom requires multiple scans. Whenever it does require extra scans, my finger placement is typically the culprit. One feature that I immediately disabled in BIOS is the power on when the lid is opened option. It seems to be enabled by default on many new Dell systems as this is not the first time I’ve had to disable it on a new Dell laptop recently. It’s a handy feature and makes the laptop startup quicker but I personally prefer it disabled. The only unwanted bloatware I had to remove was McAfee security suite.
Display:
The 16” bezel-less touchscreen display has a 300 nit brightness and looks pretty snazzy. The full-HD WUXGA resolution isn’t high-res but is sharper and more crisp looking than the typical 1920x1080 resolution found on most laptops. The glass has a high-gloss finish that has high reflectiveness, especially in bright lighting. The display does not have any noticeable flaws like stuck pixels, visible edge lighting, blooming, or other issues. The TÜVRheinland low blue light feature does a good job of reducing blue light while maintaining good brightness and color accuracy. It does make the screen appear slightly warmer and more yellowish, particularly on lighter backgrounds, but is an acceptable tradeoff for someone like me who stares at computer monitors all day every day.
Performance:
The 13th gen i7-1360P EVO processor and 16GB DDR5 4800 RAM are a robust combo. I can easily multi-task between office apps, PDF editor, photo editors, and keep numerous web tabs open simultaneously without any hiccups or freezing. This is more than sufficient for general web browsing, productivity, and entertainment. The intel Iris Xe integrated graphics can handle light gaming and light video editing but more intense AAA title games and complex advanced video editing will likely require discrete graphics. I perform photo edits using two different widely used photo editors and neither gives me any issues. I don’t do super complex or huge batch editing, but haven’t hit any walls yet. The 1TB NVMe drive is quick and responsive with no noticeable latency when launching and running apps, nor when browsing in Windows Explorer. The keyboard feels firm and the keys have good spacing and feel for accurate typing. Battery life is good and I get several days of light to moderate use between charges. I prefer AC power for lengthier or more intensive usage. The 65W charger is small, sleek, and has a USB-C connector rather than the differently sized barrel style connectors typically found on laptops. That should make it much easier for a user to replace if needed. The Thunderbolt ports also double as charging ports and work well with my Thunderbolt external NVMe drives. As mentioned earlier, the FHD webcam is decent. It also has a built-in privacy shutter, which is a hugely underrated plus for privacy buffs like me. The SD card reader took nearly two and a half minutes to copy a folder just under 3GB in size containing 322 mixed media files from a class 10 SD card. That seems a little slow given the speed and transfer rating of the card but that can be either the card or the reader. I’ll test more cards later but it’s not a major concern. Fan is quiet most times but occasionally gets noticeably louder under heavy loads.
The i7630-7312SLV-PUS is a capable machine that can handle most home or home/small business computing needs. It ships with Windows 11 home, so business use is limited to non-domain environments unless upgraded to Pro. Other than that, it’s a well rounded robust performer.

Dell - Inspiron 16.0" 2-in-1 Touch Laptop upgraded version
I’ve had this laptop/tablet for a few days now. It has a lot of great features that I’m enjoying. I have the upgraded version with the i7 processor, 16gb RAM, and a 1 tb SSD. Upon startup I saw 875 gb free on the SSD. I loaded Autodesk’s Fusion 360 to see if it would be able to handle modeling for my 3D printer. Fusion displayed a notification that the graphics ability of the device might cause lag. The Intel Iris Xe gpu isn’t quite up to that job. It does have some lag, especially with a multi-part extrusion but it does work. I’m a little spoiled by the RTX card in our Area 51 pc!
I like the light up keyboard, it has two levels of brightness you can select or turn it off. I also like that it has a full size SD card slot, that’s a must have for me.
These SSDs boot up so fast! I’m seeing about 17 seconds to get to the login screen on startup. Speaking of login, this one has the fingerprint ID button to speed thru the sign in process.
Audio on the device sounds good and while I had no trouble while watching shows via streaming apps, I did get some glitchy audio while watching videos on youtube. It’s a really quick stutter every so often.
Display is nice, brightness is adjustable, screen has a glossy finish. Touchscreen gave me no issues. I understand it’s compatible with the Dell active pen which is not included. I might have to pick one up to try it out for drawing.
Webcam provided a nice FHD image and it has a privacy shutter so you don’t need to slap a post-it note over it. There’s a small white LED that indicates when it’s on.
There’s also a white light on the caps lock to show it’s status. That should be standard on every keyboard, I’m not sure why some manufacturers don’t do that.
Keyboard lacks a dedicated number pad, I don’t really miss that and I like that the keyboard isn’t cramped. The multi gesture precision touchpad seems huge and I like that it maintains the left and right mouse click function at the front edge, my older laptop doesn’t do that.
It has one HDMI port on the left side and a USB A port on each side but it also has two Thunderbolt 4 ports that can connect to multiple compatible external devices if you add a Thunderbolt 4 cable. USB C cables plug into those ports also.
Battery life has been good, it varies depending on how hard it’s being worked. I’ve been plugging it in after about 7-9 hours.
External dimensions are 14” x 10” x 7/8” if you wanted to order a sleeve for it.
With it being a 2 in 1 device you can fold it so the screen is closer to you for easier use of the touchscreen, fold it to use as a conventional laptop, or fold it completely and use it like a big tablet.
I’m not able to select half stars but I’d give it 4.5 stars if I could, deducting half a star for the slightly weaker graphics performance. Overall I like it though.

Reliable Choice for Traveling Professionals

The Dell Inspiron 16.0 2-in-1 laptop has become a total lifesaver for my work travel. Initially, I tried carrying only a Windows tablet when I traveled, but it turned out I missed having a big screen and a full keyboard. So, I ended up lugging around both a laptop for hotel work and a tablet for on-site tasks. But now, with this 2-in-1 laptop, it's like magic! I can switch between laptop and tablet modes super easily, and I don't have to carry multiple devices anymore. The device is a bit thicker than most tablets, even with a keyboard case, but weirdly, it doesn't bug me. I guess it's because having a 16-inch tablet is pretty awesome. The touch display is alright, nothing too fancy. Personally, I prefer computers with 4K resolution because I spend a ton of time working with spreadsheets.
This laptop rocks when it comes to performance. The Core i7-1360P processor and 16GB of RAM handle my huge spreadsheets like a boss. Seriously, I'm amazed at how smoothly it tackles all those big operations. The 1TB hard drive space is probably more than I need, but I gotta give props to the startup time—it's lightning fast even from a complete shutdown. And when I'm watching movies, the audio system is crystal clear even at full blast. It's pretty immersive, but I didn't notice any fancy surround sound effects in the movies I watched. One cool thing is I can watch movies in bed with the screen tilted back. It's super handy, and I don't have to worry about accidentally spilling my soda or crumbs on the keyboard.
During conference calls, the camera is alright, not amazing, but it gets the job done. I do like that it has a privacy slider, though. Other people on the calls said the audio was good, and I didn't even need to wear a headset when I took a call from the airport. Overall, this Dell Inspiron 16.0 2-in-1 laptop gives me the freedom to get work done and have some fun while traveling. Only thing I wish for is a higher resolution screen and maybe a slimmer design. But hey, it's still a reliable choice for professionals who need a top-notch laptop that can handle all sorts of work and entertainment stuff.

I recently purchased the Dell Inspiron 2-in-1 16" Touch Screen Laptop, and I’m extremely impressed with its performance and versatility. Powered by an Intel Evo i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD, this laptop handles everything from multitasking to heavy applications with ease. The large, responsive touch screen is a game-changer, allowing smooth navigation and converting effortlessly into tablet mode for added convenience. The build quality feels premium, and the Platinum Silver finish gives it a sleek, professional look. It boots up quickly, runs quietly, and stays cool even during intense usage. The keyboard is comfortable for long typing sessions, and the battery life is impressive for such a powerful machine. Delivery was prompt through FedEx and arrived in perfect condition. This laptop offers incredible value for the price and is perfect for students, professionals, and casual users alike. I’m very satisfied with this purchase and highly recommend it!

A Good Laptop Full of Features with OK Battery

The Dell Inspiron 16 #7630 2 in 1 Laptop is an impressive laptop/ tablet. It would be 5 star if only the battery lasted longer. Battery drain happens too quickly. I get about 2 :15 to 2:30 or so on a charge and then it needs charging. It also seems to run a bit hot. I am ok with that as I always use a fan stand on any laptop to disipate the heat. This laptop gets hot. Buy a fan stand. This is the first Dell computer I have ever owned. The styling, the heft, and the features are very good indeed. It is a tad heavy, but ok by me. The screen is a whopping 16 inch in size. The colors are as rich and full as a very good TV. The laptop can flip into a tablet and it has touch technology that is very responsive. The keyboard back lighting is very good. The touchpad equally good. The laptop has a webcam that has a cool feature. It allows you to slide a button to close webcam access. Pretty neat. The processor is very fast. It is an Intel Core processor. i7-1360P. The graphics card as I mentioned earlier makes for excellwnt colors and saturation and very good graphics. The graphics card is an Intel Iris Xe. Another feature is the whopping 1TB SSD. Most computers today have little storage capabilityand rely more on web storage. The wireless connection on setup was smooth. Quickly I was up and running. The wireless connection is provided by Wireless AX with bluetooth capability. There is a fingerprint reader for easy access and that too works flawlessly. The speakers sit on the laptop left and right of the keyboard. Sound is ok. Laptop sound is always a bit "tinny" to me. The sound is powered by Dolby. The laptop charging block is unique in that it has usb-c connection through the charging block. There are multiple jacks for HDMI, SD card, Micro SD Card, Headphones, USB Ports, and a Thunderbolt Display connection. Which I am to understand provides high resolution images. The laptop has Microsoft 11 Home software.

I am impressed with my new 16" Dell Inspiron 16 2-in-1 7630 laptop. Upon opening the box, its Silver Platinum aluminum exterior and its sturdy and relatively thin and light build exude modern elegance. What is inside is even better.
The Inspiron 16's cover opens to a Full High Definition (1920 x 1200 resolution - 8 bit) Touch Screen that refreshes at 60.03Hz. The monitor cover can keep rotating on its solidly-built hinges to open into a tablet format. The monitor cover contains a Full HD Webcam and has a manual switch at the top to close the Webcam Shutter. The Webcam has integrated Dual-array microphones (though I don't see a microphone mute on the keyboard.)
On the keyboard section, the Power-on Button doubles as a Fingerprint Reader for ease of login (though I have found this to work intermittently). The keyboard has low-profile, gray keys that are lighted. There is an overly large and very sensitive touchpad. To each side of the keyboard, there are (4) very clear sounding 2.5W each High-definition speakers with a controller that supports Waves MaxxAudio Pro, Dolby Atmos Core, and Stereo Conversion.
On the keyboard left-side edge of the laptop, there are: (1) 1.4 HDMI port (yes, you can connect an external Monitor), (1) USB B size 3.2 Gen 1 port transferring at 5 Gbps, (1) USB C size Thunderbolt 4.0 port and (1) USB C size Thunderbolt 4.0 port that is the Power port. On the keyboard right-side edge, there are: (1) Universal Audio Jack port, (1) (more) USB B size 3.2 Gen 1 port transferring at 5 Gbps, and (1) SD (photo) Card Reader (handy for photographers like me!).
Inside this Inspiron beauty, is an Intel 13th Generation Core i7 - 1360p CPU with 12 Cores and16 Threads running up to 5GHz & 18MB of on-board Cache. It has a very capable Intel Iris Xe Graphics on chip, but if you prefer a discrete graphics card, it will support a NVIDIA GeForce MX550 2GB Card with GDDR6. For Memory, the unit has 16 GB of LPDDR5 running at 4800 MHz, dual-channel, (soldered) on-board, which means that there are no slots for further memory expansion, though 16 GB of memory is more than sufficient to run anything (normal) that one needs or wants.
For storage, this unit contains a 64Gbps fast transfer Samsung M.2 NVMe PM9B1 PCIe 4.0 x 4 SSD 2280 drive. The laptop has room for adding an additional NVMe drive.
Also, this unit supports Bluetooth and WIFI 6e / AX211, the latest WIFI standard.
On the whole, I find this Dell Inspiron 16 2-in-1 7630 laptop to be very well-built, to be relatively light in weight compared to previous 16" laptops, to stay relative cool in use, and to have extremely good battery life (I got 10 hours out of a complete charge). I like that the storage and graphics can be upgraded. I also like that Dell was smart enough to add some backwards compatible legacy ports (I have another newer laptop that has only USB C ports, which caused some consternation on my vacation, when I needed to use certain peripherals that only had USB B-sized connectors or HDMI.)

I'm writing this review while using this computer. This is a powerhouse of a machine and the deal I got was great. the touch screen is responsive and the i7 processor performs just as you would expect for Windows 11. The speed of multi application use is impressive as is the battery life and tactile response of the screen. It's lightweight and is quickly becoming my go-to laptop for all things - even the highly intensive tasks like photo editing and file conversion. I am a high power user who is constantly pushing my hardware to its limits but this package has it all. Having the ever elusive headphone/mic multiport is nice for someone like me who is constantly doing media recordings and I'm glad to still have the one USB-A port for legacy peripherals. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and would do it again.

This Dell Inspiron 2-in-1 16” Touch Screen Laptop is everything I needed and more. From the moment I turned it on, I could see how fast and powerful it is. The Intel Evo i7 processor and 16GB of RAM make multitasking super smooth — I can run many programs at once with no slowdown. The touchscreen is very responsive and the display is bright and clear, perfect for both work and watching videos.
I also love the 2-in-1 design. I can switch to tablet mode when I’m reading or drawing, and it feels really natural. The 1TB SSD gives me tons of storage, and everything loads quickly. The build quality is solid, and the Platinum Silver color looks professional.
I picked it up at the Charlotte N Lake store with no problems. I’m very satisfied with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, fast, and flexible laptop.

I have had a week to use the Dell Inspiron and I must say i am pretty impressed.
DESIGN
The laptop feels streamlined and sleek, it is very thin and lightweight and thus feels natural to want to travel with it. It has the necessary ports, it feels like it should have more but it has all you need. The Thunderport 4.0 port provides all the versatility you need and the full size memory slot are the ports i use the most. The bluetooth connectivity pretty much provides a conenction to all the peripeherals i need.
The laptop has the most satisfying key travel and click, i had an MSI gaming laptop and forgot how these dells are geared toward productivity in their button spacing, key travel and backlit keys. The spacing lets me type without constantly pressing the wrong key as i did on other gaming laptops.
The tablet feature, the ability to fold the tablet in of itself is not as useful but when you add the touchscreen option and thin design...it really does feel like you have a new device- A TABLET.
The large touchpad is refreshing and useful. I didnt realize how nice it felt using a larger touchpad until you actually have one. The only thing that could add to the features would have been a stylus.
The 16.0" screen and full HD looks amazing for my needs, web browsing and streaming. The speakers are nice, they provide full robust sound especially when sitting directly in front or watching movies some feet away.
The touchscreen is very responsive and allows for pinch and zoom which does come in handy for those of us that sometimes forget our eyeglasses.
I have been able to multi-task with streaming movies and browsing the internet, i have not had any freezing or glitches.
I did have a few issues failing to load all the updates on the initial startup but after a few days it sorted itself out.
The fingerprint sensor is such a quick and easy way to boot unlock your system as opposed to the code or password, all laptops need a fingerprint reader.
The battery power is decent but i usually only use it when plugged in.
I wish i could talk about every feature but i wanted to stick to the features that seemed to go above and beyond my expectations.

I have had this computer for a very little while. It is sleek and thin. It charges fast and keeps a charge for a little longer than a half hour. I usually keep it plugged in. Size of screen is nice. Picture color is great too. What I absolutely love is how fast it boots up. WOW! I love how it turns right on and boots up amazing. I have an old Dell not a SSD and it takes about 10 mins to start. Now I open my computer and it starts right away. Fantastic! Love the storage and all the specs. Very happy with it so far. I would highly recommend.
