Customers are saying

Customers recognize the Inspiron 17.3" laptop's large screen size, good performance, and ease of use as significant advantages. Many appreciate the touchscreen functionality and ample RAM for multitasking. However, some find the laptop heavy and the limited number of USB ports inconvenient. A slow hard drive and the power button placement were also cited as potential drawbacks.

    Great Computer

I purchased my new laptop on 10/01/16 as an open box item at a substantial savings. I was a little concerned as to why it had been returned. The Geek Squad set it up and checked everything out. It has not disappointed. Beautiful screen and love the back-lit keyboard. So far it has not given me any problems. I really am not a fan of Windows 10 so added Classic Shell to it and now it functions more like Windows 7 but you still have the functions of Windows 10. I really love my computer!

Just got this laptop and it's surprisingly nice. The screen is big and bright and the fit and finish is excellent. The speaker is loud. The best part is it's a x360 laptop. It's lighter than a HP 17" laptop I've gotten before and lighter than the Envy 17". I got this when it went on sale and it's a great bargain. The negatives so far are the ports... one USB2 and one USB3 port. You would think for a big laptop would have more ports. On the really positive side is that you can swap the internals such as the HDD, RAM and the Wifi card and it's not difficult to open.

Decent laptop. It does it's job. I had to replace a dying hard drive with an ssd. It's still running after that.

Wow!! What a great laptop ! Please do not hesitate to buy one , it may be 17.3 pound but it does not feel heavy in my hand. Super fast speed, 1080p what more can you ask for?

This was purchased for my son for college (engineering). It met all the specs for his program. Only been using it for about a month and loves it so far.

Windows 10 is a bit confusing, easy to learn how to work and very large screen enhances everything you view

I'm not a tech guy, so I don't know or expect much, but this thing is great for my basic needs. Glad I got it.

    had to return

I purchased this laptop a couple of days ago. I opted to choose this for the screen size, the touch screen, the i7 processor, and Dell brand. This laptop was terrible. it was much slower than expected, and would continuously freeze up after 10-15 minutes, requiring me to hold in the power button to restart. antivirus software found no problems, and dell tech support could not find a problem. It didn't matter if I was actively using it or not, even just simply browsing the internet. I found online where others have had the same problem. I returned it the next day, and went with and HP (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-omen-15-6-laptop-intel-core-i7-8gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-gtx-960m-1tb-hdd-128gb-ssd-onyx-black/5319600.p?id=bb5319600&skuId=5319600) I love the HP so far. The service at BestBuy was great, and had no issues with the return

    Power button in bad place

The power button is placed on the right side computer in a spot that you may find a USB port. Every time I pick up the computer I put it to sleep. I have had to deactivate the button, so now it is completely useless.

    Problematic

I have had regular problems with this laptop getting stuck on various processes. The headphone jacks sometimes work, sometimes don't. Even worse, the WiFi often won't work after the laptop has been asleep. I have to completely power down and power back up to get it to work again. This is unacceptable. Need to bring this thing back to the store as soon as I have some time. Very disappointed with the overall performance.

    Unreliable

If you have to do any real work, or run any software beyond Microsoft office - DON'T buy this computer. Purchased this computer going into my junior year of college (end of last summer) as a Landscape Architecture student. Despite the upgraded graphics card and being assured by employees that it could handle all the adobe and auto-cad software - it simply is not up to task. I have lost countless hours of work this year because it consistently crashes - sometimes several times a night. As a student with two minors and two jobs (four in the summer) this is simply unacceptable. Now I will likely have to purchase another computer over the summer, which is a bit of a problem because I need a computer for my internship beginning in a few weeks.

Absolute waste of time and money

I had extremely high hopes for this computer, but it has been nothing but a disappointment in all respects. Clearly the "power" is to attempt to make the large touch screen work vs being reserved for running heavy programs. The screen regularly pixelates and EVERYTHING runs slow. I have had numerous shut downs just while lightly using the system, forget about opening large Excel spreadsheets or an Access DB. I will never again purchase another Dell product or a computer that has just been released that has fewer than 40 reviews. This system was just released in July and it is already on its way out.

I bought this laptop 2 months ago , the manufacture only gives you one month to return it , how convenient. I had an error software, already have to reset the computer 2 times loosing all my documents and information. Still the problem was not fixed. I lost 800 hundredth dollars for a poor computer . Dell is doing very bad job at guaranty and making this computers. I would not recommend anyone to buy this laptop.

I received this laptop in a very bad situation, dirty cover, loosen screws, and with an account for somebody else, installed already. I gave one star product rating because there is no thing less than one star.
