    GOOD BUY -- BEST BUY

I purchased this computer at Christmas time, the computer went south on me after the 30 day store warrenty, I took it back to Best Buy and they replaced it free of charge with no questions asked. I got the new computer home and ever since it works great.. This computer is FAST, Efficient, and very well built. I do alot of video making for youtube and this computer with the graphics card, i7, 12gb ram, makes it a breeze to do 1080p HD video making at any length, the rendering process is super fast and the finished movie comes out perfect! The downside to this laptop is the bulk and weight, for traveling, this computer would not be an easy haul, it's built like a tank, and you know it when lugging it around from place to place! Other then that it's the perfect computer for the money and compared to other computers in the same range of quality, this one is by far the "BEST BUY"!

Not as good as the specs indicate

I am a long-time Dell user, and they provide a lot of great products. This one would likely be better with different specifications, and the let-down with the model is probably partly my own fault. The screen is decent or slightly better, but I found that the touch screen was not as accurate as other models I use (13" and 15.6"); since I bought the laptop because of the touch capability, that is a bit frustrating. My model had a few dead pixels, but since I use it regularly, I could not take the time to send it back. The part that is worst, and my own fault, is the hard drive, and its impact on performance. The startup sequence is overly long, in my opinion. Despite un-installing a bunch of pre-loaded programs and apps, and removing all extra programs from the start up sequence, it still takes more than 5 minutes to startup. I have attempted to have Dell work with me over the phone, and nothing they can do has sped this up. It seems the main fault is the slow hard drive. When I purchased this, in January 2017, there were no models available yet with SSD or better drives. I am sure, based on my other laptops, that that upgrade would help solve SOME of the issues. Other than that, though, the computer just runs slower, and the fans turn on much more often than I am used to. It is an adequate laptop overall, and I still like that it is multi-mode; I just tend to use it for presentation now instead of production of any sort. Even Microsoft p[rograms take longer to load and save than I am comfortable with.

Architect, Thanks for your Dell laptop purchase. We're sorry that it's not performing up to the standards that you had hoped for. We're happy to hear that you were able to talk through some of your concerns with a member of Dell's Customer Support team. In order to troubleshoot any touch-screen concerns that you have we'd recommend the following:
      1. Restart the Computer and the Monitor.
      2. Recalibrate the touch-screen. Steps to calibrate touch-screen:
      3. Go to Control Panel and select Tablet PC Settings.
      4. Under Display tab, select Calibrate....
      5. Choose Pen or Touch input.
      6. Perform the point calibration that appear on the screen to correct the linearity problems.
      7. Save the calibrated data.
We hope these steps help you but for additional tips you can visit our troubleshooting page here - http://dell.to/2uLztub. Dell

Laptop Okay, but Buyer beware with Accessories

I purchased this laptop online and picked it up in Boulder after looking at it and having a less than satisfying experience at the Longmont store. I also bought the Bamboo Ink Stylus at the same time. I asked NUMEROUS times during the "looking at" in Longmont and the "pick-up process" in Boulder if the Bamboo Ink Stylus was the correct one for the laptop I purchased and every single time the response was "YES, the Computer has Microsoft Ink on it so it will work". Guess what, it doesn't. After 3+ hours of troubleshooting, loading and unloading drivers, I call Wacom, the stylus manufacturer who told me there are only 2 Dell laptops that the stylus is compatible with and mine is not one of them. I am disappointed that the "Experts" at Best Buy, including the one I spoke to in the Longmont store were not aware of this or just didn't care enough to double check. I would have purchased a different laptop that had an Active display versus Capacitive display had I known this.

This laptop works good. Before buying, just keep in mind that the memory is just Hard drive not SSD. Which means, it takes 2 mins to boot up the device for me. But once it is booted, then works it works fast. Good for regular use

With my aging Dell on it's last leg I decided it was time to start looking for a new machine. My basic needs where decent the ability to do some light video and photo processing. Stream media to my TV and faster throughput for wireless then my current computer. This hit all those check marks, along with touch screen\tablet abilities and extra processing power as a cherry on top. Thus far I couldn't be happier

nice laptop but a few issues

I bought this after reading the prior great reviews and looking at the laptop on display at best buy store. its a beautiful, sturdy design. nice keyboard where the backlight actually has good visibility. great sound (with headphones). however, I have 3 complaints: 1. the power button is located on the front right side. exactly where you would naturally grab a laptop to pick it up/ move it, etc. so I kept shutting it off every time id reposition it on the desk. worst placement for power button I have ever seen. 2. when doing anything even mildy graphic intensive, the fans come on rather loud and then begin to cycle between high and extra high speeds almost rhythmically. sounds like you are in a wind storm fast-slow-fast-slow-fast-slow. very loud and annoying with the speed shifting every 1 second. 3. using the HDMI output for HD monitor intermittently cuts out for a second or 2 when using graphics intensive things. I was playing a 2D browser based game and the external monitor would go black and lose sound every couple minutes, then pop right back on. the main laptop screen is ok, doesn't flicker. just the external HDMI line. bottom line. I'm not happy. my HP envy from 2 years ago did a better job with the video than this does. computer passes all diagnostic tests. so I assume design flaws? returning it 24 hours later for something better

Pro's support for 2 internal drives, 2.5 SATA, and M.2 SATA. The laptop configuration was with a 1TB HDD from the factory. Ended up purchasing a M.2 SATA SSD drive and copied the contents of the HDD to the SSD, and used it for booting. Much faster by using the SSD vs the HDD. The laptop performed relatively well for 5 years. It would bog down and slow down every once in a while for no reason. Not sure if it was related to the 940MX Nvidia Graphics card or throttling by the CPU. Laptop stopped booting up after 5 years, defective motherboard on the laptop. Had purchased the laptop for my mother for her to use to browse the Web. No heavy use and the motherboard stopped working after 5 years. The only upside is that I was able to remove the M.2 SSD and transfer the data to another brand new Dell laptop at 1/2 the price of this product. Still having a $1,000 Dell laptop break after 5 years of light use is such a disappointment compared to my MacBook Pro/Air that have been going strong after heavy use 7+ years on some.

Just purchased yesterday; haven't set up yet. Love idea of folding screen. Numeric keypad was my deciding factor. Backlit keys easy to see against a darker keyboard. Replaces my 2004 Dell which is still working, but I needed updated features.

I bought this PC for a mobile solution for online day trading and one the scanners that I use was very slow and would crash occasionally. I really think the hard drive was the bottleneck and I didn't want to deal with changing it out. Lastly I really didn't like the keyboard it was too small considering the surface area of the laptop.
