I'm very happy with my new notebook!, it's fast enough for navigating and normal use!

My previous laptop died after 3+ years of regular use and I wanted something that would hold up for a couple tech evolutions. I stumbled upon this in the open box section. Great specs, i7 processor, tons of RAM and a 1 TB HD. Only wish it had a SSD, but it's plenty fast!

I bought this laptop as a replacement for my four-year old laptop. So far, it has served my needs wonderfully. Pros: Although the hinge is quite tight, thus requiring some force to open the laptop screen, the screen can be rotated 360 degrees, allowing you to transform it into a tablet or stand it up. Once the screen is rotated beyond 180 degrees, the keyboard and touchpad disable automatically, so any inadvertent presses on them once you enable Tablet Mode in Windows 10 are avoided. The volume button on the side, next to the power button, allows the volume to be adjusted quickly. The IR Camera built into this laptop allows Windows Hello to be enabled, allowing me to use facial recognition to log into the computer (with the backup PIN enabled). The touchscreen supports 10 touch points, and the touchpad supports scrolling and zoom gestures. Cons: The laptop does not come with an optical disk drive, which means that I had to attach an external DVD drive to install some software applications (although Microsoft Office can be downloaded and installed online). The laptop only has a built-in HDD, which means that its startup time (OS startup and app startup) is longer, as it is only 5400 RPM, not 7200 RPM or SSD. However, it has a capacity of 1 TB.

Had to buy a USB port expander since there is only one port, but overall I am very happy with this Dell. Love the light-up key board!

This laptop is a huge upgrade and I love it! It is fast and can handle multitasking! It has the new 3.0 USB which I haven't used yet but I am looking forward to using. The screen is clear and look so good! I couldn't be happier with this computer. If I had to make one complaint is I wish the keys were bigger but that is really no big deal.

Reliable, Fast and a lot of bang for the buck. As fast as my desktop. Battery doesn't last very long, but that's ok. 16GB Memory with the NVIDIA GeForce Card is well worth it. I would highly recommend purchasing the Geek Squad Protection though. Dell Customer Service is absolutely horrible. So is HP for that matter. Just buy the protection and forget it.

I wanted a laptop to replace my 7 yr. old desktop that died on me. I wanted something that could be portable if needed, but still be powerful. I waited until the price dropped below $1,000 and went for this one. It is worth nothing that this laptop does not have an internal DVD drive. When I made the purchase online, I got an LG external DVD drive for half the regular price from Best Buy. Also note that there is no place to directly insert an Ethernet cable. You will have to buy an USB-to-Ethernet adaptor. The 17in. touchscreen will seem a little big, especially if you have been using an iPad for awhile. I wanted a big screen because I knew this was going to be more of a replacement for a desktop than a high-end tablet, so the HD screen for me needed to be very clear and colorful. If the screen is big, then the rest of the body will seem huge. The full keyboard is easy to use and the keypad to the right of the keyboard comes in handy. There is enough space between the keypad and bottom edge of the laptop to place my wireless mouse, my preference over the touchpad the laptop comes with. The internal battery will last about 3 hours on the first charge and 4 hours after. The AC adapter will get very warm.

I purchased this laptop for my daily work, I am really happy with purchase. very good resolution, perfomance of i7 was very smooth.

This was the second laptop in a row we bought at our store that didn't work. The other was another brand. Just an unlucky streak I guess. Our IT guy bought this same model again at his local store and all is well. It's fast and light and my husband likes it.

First touch screen laptop, and am very pleased. Used for basic home needs, and for the price point it far exceeds expectations.

It is awkward to flip as the other reviews say, however it is more than worth the effort for fine editing and digitizing original embroidry designs. The touch screen makes things so simple to use. It handles multiple programs with no problems or delays.

Great laptop at a great sale price. Generous amount of RAM and HD to last for years. So glad I was able to catch this sale.

This computer has more than I need. It is a big step-up from W-7.

I purchased this laptop because of the Intel chip and the 16 gigabytes of RAM. I got tired of watching the screen on my last laptop waiting for pages to load. I don't have that kind of issue anymore. This system is pretty fast and strong. I can load 5 to 6 apps at a time and it won't blink an eye. :-)

I needed the touchscreen in order to run a light board for church. It actually is very swift and completely capable of adjusting the lights. The lighting levels are adjusted by using the very good touch screen. I'm really enjoying the large screen size too.

It is taking a little bit of time to get use to the difference between this new laptop and my last dell inspiron.

I bought this computer to edit pictures and I love how big the screen is for this purpose. No complaints so far!

This 17 inch laptop is a great replacement for a desktop . I replaced the one terabyte mechanical hard drive with a 512 SSD it is so fast now great price for an open box too.
