Dell has made me a believer!

After a long hiatus from PCs, Dell now has me considering migrating away from the "apple orchard" (pun intended) and returning to the world of Windows for personal computing. What can I say except, after working with this amazing all-in-one computer - I'm a believer! Let's start with packaging and delivery. Two days after placing my order this unit arrived on my doorstep. Nothing too special in regards to the unboxing. I found the computer securely packaged, as one would expect, with your typical padding inside along with four external locking mechanisms. Inside the box - the computer, one box containing the wireless mouse, batteries, and Dell power cord, and a second box containing the wireless keyboard, batteries, quick setup guide, and standard informational pamphlets. I was immediately impressed by the aesthetics. This is a beautiful all-in-one device. While it is quite large, it has such a minimalistic, clean design and form factor. I almost wanted to place this in a high traffic area of my home for all to see - it's that pleasing to the eye. Setup was incredibly easy, and made even easier by the Cortana setup assistant. I'll admit, it took me a couple minutes to locate the power button, which is under the speaker on the right side. Once powered on, setup took about 15 minutes, and this includes connecting the wireless mouse and keyboard. As mentioned, once powered on Cortana (Microsoft's voice assistant) clearly guides you through setting up the device. While I am not a fan of Cortana in general, and have little experience in using it, I admit being able to perform nearly all of the setup using my voice was a nice touch. Setting up the wireless mouse and keyboard could not have been easier. Install the batteries, power them on, and they auto-connect. No additional steps necessary. During setup you are required to have a Microsoft account, which you can create if you do not already have one. This may be a non-issue for some, but it is worth mentioning. It should also be noted - this applies to all Windows devices, and is not specific to Dell. I mentioned previously this Dell has a very minimalistic design and feel. Since the mouse and keyboard are wireless, the only cord required is the power adapter, which adds to the clutter-free feel. There are plenty of input / export ports, all of which are located on the back of the computer. A media reader, microphone input, headphone jack, USB 2.0 Type A x 1, USB 3.1 Type C x 1, USB 3.1 Type A x 3, HDMI input x 1, and HDMI output x 1. As with most all-in-one PCs, there is no CD/DVD drive. The built-in wireless-AC networking connected quickly and flawlessly to my network. Using this Dell all-in-one has been an absolute pleasure. It's as if it invites you in and makes you want to use it. There is some bloatware installed, which is common with nearly all computing devices, but I must say I found this to be minimal and easily uninstalled. The screen is adjustable and solidly held in place without the need for knobs or locks. Startup is extremely quick, even when powered off. From sleep mode, startup is nearly instant. There are several security options to unlock the device including facial recognition, password, and PIN. You can choose any, all, or none of these security protections to unlock the computer. The built-in webcam is a pop-up hidden at the top of the screen. So for those concerned about webcam hacking, it is easy to know when this webcam is active. While this particular Dell all-in-one is not going to satisfy the high-end gamer, there is plenty of power for mid-range gaming and nearly all personal computing and graphics needs. Programs open quickly and run without lag, even when having several programs open simultaneously. I opened twelve programs and found no bogging down, lags, or struggle to keep up. Graphics are clean and smooth with nice transitions. The touchscreen is highly accurate and responsive. In regards to audio, the built-in speakers are clean, clear, and LOUD. On 30% I was able to clearly hear music throughout the main level of my home which is 1200sf. I was pretty blown away. One thing I do like about Dell in particular, is how easy they make it to find information about your device, as well as access help. It's all right on your home screen, just one click away. There is no hunting through settings or obscure pathways to obtain assistance or specific device info. I would highly recommend this Dell all-in-one if you are considering a personal computer in the near future. With a solid build, clean design, ample RAM and SSD storage, this computer should last for several years to come. Given all this computer has to offer, backed by Dell's strong reputation, this an all-in-one well worth the purchase price.

This computer is the best. It has a slick design and has a fast processor. The camera is clear. I do not do gaming, however, you can watch great movies and answer your cell phone on this computer. Con's- the USB inputs are in the back of the computer not on the side as the HPs. The speakers are not as clear but loud. The keyboard and mouse could be of better quality plastic. Overall the computer is better than HP. The Dell is up to date with the I7 core 10th generation for the price.

I am pretty impressed with this touch screen all in one computer from Dell. It’s a full HD but not 4K. I have an Apple computer and the picture is not comparable to Apple. But this is $1400 computer, not $2000 plus like Apple. So, for what you pay for, you get a pretty powerful Intel Core i-7 HD display with a seamless and quick touch screen. It’s been awhile since I tried a computer with touch screen because for a while, the touch screen on those computers were pretty dreadful. This one, on the other hand, has a seamless and quick respond comparable to the current tablet, like iPad. This might entices me to use it more often. I also have another all in one Dell computer at home which is about 4 years old. But that machine is very slow. This new Dell is very fast. The set up takes less than 1/2 hour. It’s pretty quick especially if you already have a Microsoft account. All of your stuffs that are stored on the cloud show up right away (just like how iCloud Apple works). I just opened Paint- Microsoft software/app for drawing - and the app is touch screen compatible, which translates to endless possibility of making “art” with this app using your fingers. Of course, all of these features are standard Windows 10, but to use software/app with touch screen that doesn’t buffer every time you use it, requires a pretty powerful computer. I am not a computer tech savvy, so my guess is the power for this computer comes from the Intel Core i-7 processor and the 12 GB RAM. Also, it comes with 512 GB SSD, stands for Solid state drive, which means that the hard drive is like a flash drive with no moving part, resulting in a faster reload time. I hesitant to give 5 stars because I think the graphic, while is good, is in the softer side. Also, you definitely need to connect this to a speaker to get the full potential of the sound coming out from whatever it is you are watching or listening. A full volume in this computer just barely make a noise in our small office. The computer also comes with a camera that you can “hide” by pressing it down. This is good for people who always think that people are watching through the camera of your PC. You only ‘take it out’ when you need it. All in all, for the price and all the whistles that you get with this computer - like a 27 inch monitor, which is pretty sweet - I would recommend this to a casual computer user.

I have been a Dell customer for years, but this is the best product of theirs I have owned. The start-up is easy and voice assisted. The screen is great with a good sound system. I hear no noise from the computer itself to indicate it is even working. I returned a product to Lenova that had major problems in the first week. I highly recommend this product. Order the external DISC player to have on hand to install disks that you sometimes need for printers, etc.
