Perfect for my small business everyday!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In todays world where laptops seem to be all the rage and taking the place of the old desktop, this is a pleasant surprise! In terms in power, memory and speed, I still prefer a desktop for work. Am I streaming Netflix or using this as my main gaming PC? Nope. But I find working on this desktop to be better than my laptop for a few reasons, but mostly because it has been able to handle everything I’ve thrown at it with absolutely 0 lag and has been very responsive, just like a new desktop should be. I’ve been using all of the standard Microsoft programs, my business email, Quickbooks, and my businesses security cameras… this has been perfect so far! No lag, even when streaming my security cameras! That’s a huge plus for me. It has been able to handle whatever I’ve thrown at it and seems to be just right for my needs. The price for what you’re getting seems to be a great deal, I’m glad Dell offers this as a pure “computer” (as old school as that sounds!) as opposed to a high end gaming rig that I certainly wouldn’t need in my office. Good work by Dell here.

Dell Inspiron 3020 desktop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this open box Dell desktop for my wife's home office. Needed a model with a DVD-Drive for her instructional disks, severely limiting my options. Her ~10-year-old Dell desktop could no longer reliably maintain connection to our home network despite the mesh router sitting right next to it. Despite software protection and regular utility scans and maintenance, the hard disk seemed to be active most of the time. Purchased this unit to provide her with a more reliable setup. Installation went smoothly, right out of the box. It only took me a couple of hours on and off one afternoon to transfer everything from the old machine, install software, enter licenses, and reestablish her old workstation look and feel. Since then, she reports stable broadband connection and much improved speed to load webpages. Ask me in a couple of years, but I am happy with this unit, and only gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because the price seemed high for the capability.

Simplistic streamlined design
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had multiple Dell computers over the years. Until this personal desktop computer, they had all been laptops. The first one I had lasted for roughly 20 years. Absolutely loved it! It got outdated and I ended up getting a new Dell laptop because I had such a good experience with the other and ended up having issues even before the first year was up. So hopefully the third time will be the charm with this one! Out of the box it's a basic casing, no bells or whistles, no RGB lighting or see through housing. It's the same minimalisic design that you'd get twenty years ago. It's a good basic home personal computer. Great for home and office work or for a student. Used for those purposes I'm sure you won't be disappointed! Now as far as using this for gaming or anything of high demand, this isn't the computer for you. I do a lot of editing with photo and video work with large files and even that had this little thing struggling and points and times. 8GB of memory is just the bare minimum by today's standards. It has the Intel Core i5 so again right in the middle of not the worst but not the best. It does come with a pretty basic keyboard and mouse. On a good note the keyboard does have a 10-key section. Another plus that laptops lack nowadays that this has is a disc drive!! I'm old school and still have plenty of discs that I like to use and many programs that I couldn't put on my laptop because they had no disc drives and companies would expect you to rebuy and download the programs which was outrageous. So the drive was a bonus for me. It has plenty USB ports, only one HDMI though. The only thing I could think to change is that the front is so plain, you could move all of the other ports that are on the back, to the front so you wouldn't have to go behind or move the pc to plug stuff in. I'd recommend this to others who like I mentioned, are a student, or great for home and office work

Upgradeable mid-grade desktop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently upgraded to the Dell Inspiron 3020 Desktop 13th Gen Intel Core i5 - 8GB Memory - Intel UHD Graphics 730 - 512GB SSD - Mist Blue from a 3+ year old HP system with a 9th generation Intel Core i5 CPU. The initial setup was a breeze from unboxing to finishing up the Windows 11 setup and connecting to the WiFi 6 home network. It came configured with only 1x 8GB DDR4 memory stick, and a 512 GB SSD M.2 drive. Luckily there is another memory slot for future upgrade to a maximum of 64 GB. I would strongly recommend upgrading the memory especially if you plan to open multiple apps and docs at the same time or run any moderate gaming or graphics rendering on this PC. The 13th generation Intel Core i5-13400 processor offers above mid-range 10-core performance with a turbo boost speed of up to 4.6 GHz performance that’s great for multi-tasking and all around productivity and photo/video processing apps as well and some moderate gaming, though the gaming performance is more dependant on the GPU than the CPU. This Inspiron does have an available PCIe x16 slot that could be used for a better video card, though you will not be able to install a very high-end video card cause the power supply is only 180 Watts and there is no additional PCIe video card power cable. Either way, you should still be able to get a better discrete video card than the built-in Intel UHD 730. Other notable features are plenty of USB ports,a total of 8! 4x USB 2.0 (2 in the front), 3x USB 3.2 Type A Ports (one in the front) and my favorite USB 3.2 Type C Port conveniently located on the front which makes it a perfect spot to plug in your phone. Also one HDMI out and one DisplayPort ver 1.4 connector for a second display. The built-in Wi-Fi 6 AX works great, but if you prefer a wired connection, there is also an RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet port in the back. Less common but a welcome addition is a horizontally mounted DVD-RW burner drive like those found in larger laptops and a 5 in 1 Memory Card Reader (SD, SDHC, SDXC, MMC, MMC+). To complete the setup, a wired mouse and multimedia keyboard combo are included as well. All in all, this is a mid-level general home/office PC that does it all in a stylish mid-tower case. It is not an advanced gaming system by any means, though the integrated Intel UHD 730 graphics is good enough for basic gaming.

Dell desktop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this desktop to replace another that was about 10 years old. It is as it should be! Much faster, easy to navigate, and all my peripherals adapt just fine. It shipped quickly and arrived a day ahead of schedule. Could not be more satisfied with the purchase process through Best Buy and the new desktop computer!

A decent Windows desktop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I work from home, and have been looking for a new desktop PC to use for the VPN connection to my office as well as some web-based applications that I use. I found this Dell Inspiron which had plenty of power for my needs. The first thing I noticed is how light the unit is. I opened the case and found out why - the motherboard and power supply are very compact and there is are no internal brackets for any expansion of storage. It does have two PCIe slots but that's about it for internal expansion. With so little inside the case and no options for expansion, this would have been better configured into a smaller package. It comes loaded with all the typical pre-installed "bloatware". I don't understand why there isn't an "O/S-only" install option, or an icon that will remove all of this trial software. These two issues - the lack of expansion and the bloatware - are my reasons for not giving this PC a full 5-star rating. Other than those minor complaints, this is a nice computer. The case is attractive and the dark blue color lends a modern look to it. There are plenty of USB ports, an SD card slot, DVD/RW, plus dual monitor ports (one HDMI, one Display Port). It's a very nice PC with plenty of power for most needs. I recommend this computer.

Not worth his salt
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very standard Dell offering, which is a low quality product. To begin, yes, it will work fine enough for browsing the internet and doing light tasks. It has a 500GB NVME 3 SSD and an i5-13400, so it will breeze through most light work. Comes with a disc drive and SD card slot, both pretty dated features but not bad for a workstation. Has an acceptable front and rear IO, with a decent amount of USB ports and a USB-C. This PC is filled to the brim with proprietary garbage. Non-standard motherboard and PSU make it nearly impossible to upgrade in any meaningful way. This PSU is rated at 180 watts which is the lowest I've ever seen. They do give connections for another hard drive or SSD, but there is not really a great place to do so. I tried to upgrade the RAM to a newer kit and the computer completely refused to boot with any RAM other than what it came with. There's a PCIE slot but, again, the woeful limitations of the PSU would make it difficult to game with the configuration this PC is shipped with. Not on sale, this is a $700 PC. The only decent parts in here are the NVME drive and the processor, everything else is just crap they rig up to achieve their very low standard of a computer that turns on.

Excellent Home PC
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great PC with CD Drive already installed and just enough expandability and backward compatibility with USB 2/3 connections. SD Card connection on the front as well. Recommend you upgrade to 32GB RAM as we did and you will have an excellent home computer. 16GB RAM would work well also. Even with the RAM upgrade this one is worth the price!

Decent desktop, build quality is questionable.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This works fine as a daily pc. If your not a gamer or heavy program user this dell PC will do. After only a days use the power button has already broken on the front panel. So case and build quality is kinda questionable. I mainly use this for daily web browsing, playing poker and candy crush, nothing extreme or heavy use. The PC itself is very light. My biggest complaint with prebuilts and especially dell and Alienware is the parts used. Like the power supply and mother boards. The connectors for power isn't standard and won't work with a off the shelf power supply should the psu die over time. This comes with the small tower pc a standard cheapo wired keyboard and wired mouse. You do get a dvd/cd rom that come from a laptop. You do get a m.2 SSD with this build which imo is better than a standard hdd or sata SSD. But there is minimal cooling for this pc, but I don't see where it would get hot based on the specs of parts used. If I were to do it again, I would build my own windows 11 pc myself with better quality parts for the same money or less.

Good choice
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would actually give this a 4.5 star rating but no half stars available here. This is a nice low to midrange desktop computer with good specs but may need a few upgrades for picky users. It does have a few upgrade options but somewhat limited. It comes with a nice thirteenth gen I5 processor which is actually pretty fast with lots of cores and threads etc. Good graphics with the onboard intel graphics though not really made for gaming. It does have a display port which gives you up to 4k or the hdmi which is only good to 1080p or both for dual displays. There is a slot for a dedicated graphics card but I'm not sure why since the included power supply can't support it and upgrading the power supply seems difficult at best if not excessive. If you require a dedicated graphics card I would recommend something else. Only comes with 8 Gigs of ddr4 ram which is ok for normal use but power users will want more especially since the graphics need some of the ram shared. Has one stick of ram with another slot open so easy to add more (up to 64g according to Dell). Be sure to get ddr4 (preferably 3200 mhz) since ddr5 uses a different slot and so isn't backward compatible. Also comes with a 512 gb ssd which is nice but if you need more it has connectors for a sata drive. It does have another m.2 slot but it's a small one and is used for the wireless card. You could replace the existing ssd but you would need some way to transfer the os to it. I like that it has an optical dvd drive built in especially since I have a ton of music cd's that I'm gradually converting to mp3 so no external drive needed. Also comes with a nice full size keyboard and mouse though nothing fancy (wired with no back lighting). I'm a bit spoiled with backlit keyboards but they should get you up and running. I do like the mouse. You will need a monitor though. Runs cool, I never felt any heat coming from the vents. Seems like good quality from Dell at a good price. If you need a good computer but not really for gaming this is a good choice.

Very Nice for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Transaction went very smoothly had a few issues with shipping .. But Best Buy was willing to step up and do whatever it took to satisfy me. Nevertheless I ended up getting and unboxing my new Dell and I have to say that I'm old and not very computer savvy either. All I know is it the instructions pretty simple and it went as easy as it appeared in them. There's a lot of new features with Windows 11 and I'm still getting used to it , but I do like it. The computer boots quickly and opens pages fast. I've not had any problems streaming(aka watching) videos .
