    I needed a budget friendly laptop for my business to use one the jobsite and this one has not disappointed at all. I’ve had it a couple months now and it’s worked perfectly.

    Battery is not so good on keep a good charge. Why does the battery not last longer?

      Thank you very much for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are not 100% satisfied with your Dell Inspiron 3511 laptop because the battery performance is not as you expected.

      To help with a battery performance issue, we recommend changing the Power Plan:

      1. On the notification area of the taskbar, right-click the Battery icon.
      2. On the options list, click Power Options.
      3. Select a power plan on the battery meter, such as Power Saver or Balanced. Windows 10 has a built-in 'Battery Saver' mode that can be activated to extend your system's battery life. The Battery Saver mode will monitor and limit background activity and other features such as push notifications. You do have the option to enable or disable this mode within settings or within advanced Battery Saver settings, you can customize the mode to best suit your needs.

      a) Click on the Action Center icon in the taskbar and select the tile for Battery Saver.
      b) If running Cortana then type Battery Saver into the search box and select from the results.
      Within the Battery Saver settings page, you will be able to turn on and off the feature and customize the feature to best meet your needs.
      c) Turn the Battery Saver On or Off.
      d) Additional settings are available via the Battery use and Battery saver settings links.
      e) Battery use shows further info on apps and their power usage.
      f) Battery Saver Settings screen allows you to customize further Battery Saver features.

    PC missing drivers

    Disappointed that this pc has been a pain from the very beginning. As i was starting the setup configuration, the mouse disappeared. After multiple google searches, i had to download a driver and reboot. Same thing happened when i plugged in my scanner, had to download another driver. With my prior Dell PC everything worked seamlessly.

    Great lap top. Price was better from Best Buy because it came with touchscreen and dell.com cost was higher for touchscreen.

    Very nice laptop. Only issue is that it's in S Mode so you cant download anything that's not in Microsoft store

    Dell Inspiron 3511 and poor customer service

    We received our computer less than 30 days ago and it won't even stay on. Called best buy and because it was an open box item purchased (since there weren't any available in store) they can only charge us to fix it in store. We received the computer 29 days ago and can't even use it. Very upset with the outcome.

    It worked fine for the first week I used it but then it started being weird. It would disconnect from the wifi and I would have to restart it to get connected again, the sound would just turn off and not work and I would have to shut down the computer and leave it for a while then come back and try it again. It can barely run Youtube videos at 720p kinda a pain.

      We would like to thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We apologize for the issues you have come across with your Dell Inspiron 3511 computer because it is often disconnecting from the WIFI, its audio is not reliable, and you are not happy with the display resolution.

      Below I have provided some solutions to WIFI issues. I have also provided the full article link, which has more options if they are needed. I have also included a link to the Drivers and Downloads page for your PC so you can check for applicable updates to the WIFI drivers.

      1. Download and install the latest Wireless Card driver. (https://dell.to/2th3Tpe) After updating the driver, re-establish the connection with the Wireless Access Point and check the wireless performance.
      2. If the issue persists, proceed to step 3.
      3. Power-cycle the local network. Shut down the Dell system, the Wireless Access Point/Router, and the Modem. Wait a minimum of 60 seconds before powering up the components in the following order:
      4. Power ON the Modem and wait for it to boot fully.
      5. Power ON the Wireless Access Point/Router and wait for it to boot fully.
      6. Power ON the Dell system.
      7. Open Network and Sharing Center
      8. In the left-side navigation pane, click on Change Adapter Settings
      9. Right-click on the wireless connection icon and select Properties followed by the Configure button
      10. Under Wireless Options, select the Wireless N mode
      11. For Windows 8 or later systems click the Advanced tab and look for 802.11n Mode on the right you will be given the option to Enable or Disable. If the mode is not visible you may need to update your drivers and firmware.
      12. From the drop-down menu, choose Disable followed by Ok
      13. This should restore the wireless download and upload speed. Internet speed can be tested at http://speedtest.net

      1. Click Start, and then select Settings (gear icon).
      2. Click Update & Security and select Troubleshoot.
      3. Click Playing Audio and then click Run the troubleshooter.
      4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.

      To help with display issues, please run a diagnostic test on the display:

      Method 1
      1. Power off the Dell Laptop PC.
      2. Disconnect any peripherals that are connected to the PC, and connect the AC Adapter (charger) to the PC.
      3. Make sure that the LCD screen is clean (no dust particles are on the surface of the screen).
      4. Press and hold D key and power on the PC to enter LCD built-in self test (BIST) mode.
      Continue to hold the D key until you see the entire screen change colors.
      5. The screen changes colors to black, white, red, green, and blue.
      6. Carefully inspect the screen for abnormalities.
      7. Press Esc key to exit.
