    AQn okay compu7ter so far for the price, had an HP before withy bigger screen which I deem easier to use, probbly because I had previously owned an HP, I suppose decent for the price

    This item is slow, lags, and simply not enough machine for business use as a mortgage loan officer. Would be ok for less intensive users

    Maybe I resent being told what programs to (must) use, which is why I own no Apple products, but I could not reset the default browser, transfer my VPN or get rid of the bloat-wear. Not only could I not do this, the Geek Squad couldn't do it, either. And the battery life was shorter than .. well many things that one would prefer to not be very short. Left it there and took home a Samsung.

    This is ok for basic email and web surfing but i wouldn't use this for actual work. This brand tends to go bad right after warranty is up, sometimes before.

    Terrible, wish I didn't have to give it a star at all! This lasted 23 days til it needed the motherboard replaced. Insane!!

    Battery's only last 1hr if that. Keys were pushed in and would not help me. I dont remember buying a refurbished item.

      3. Select a power plan on the battery meter, such as Power Saver or Balanced. Windows 10 has a built-in 'Battery Saver' mode that can be activated to extend your system's battery life. The Battery Saver mode will monitor and limit background activity and other features such as push notifications. You do have the option to enable or disable this mode within settings or within advanced Battery Saver settings, you can customize the mode to best suit your needs.

    Already not working after a few months.

    When I plug it in to an HDMI cable.. the sound doesn’t work. It glitches out and screeches. I’ve only had it a few months. I’ve changed the cord and it does the same thing. I used my old laptop and it works fine. This laptop has issues after only a few months of using it. Terrible. Also the battery life is terrible I have to plug it in so often.

    Be Careful about Microsoft S-Mode

    There was no mention of this computer being Microsoft proprietary. To not be able to download any apps needed to run my business is incredibly arrogant of Microsoft. Dell, you should alert customers of this issue AND give them a workaround. I had to contact customer service just to use this laptop. This is so wrong on so many levels. I

    Touchpad issues

    I purchased open-box and it seemed to be a good laptop. After getting it home and set up I started having problems with the touchpad mouse. I did troubleshooting but the mouse continued to keep disappearing. I didn’t waste time taking it to get checked out. I have been dealing with not having a mouse.

    I just bought it 2 months ago. This laptop is too slow and just got hot all of a sudden then freeze. I made a big mistake to buy this product. Don't recommend to buy. I can't return or exchange it at all.

      Below I have provided the steps to run the Windows Performance Troubleshooter to help resolve the performance problem. I have also included the full article link, which has more options if they are needed.
      To help with the overheating issue, we recommend making sure your BIOS is up to date. I have provided a link to the Drivers and Downloads page for your PC so you can check for and do applicable updates. Dell has also released an Intel Power Management Utility to help with the overheating that you may be experiencing on your computer. For this package to take effect, the system power plan must be set to Balanced under the Additional Power Settings. Also, the Power Mode option that is displayed when you click the battery icon, should be set to Better Performance. This package only takes effect on AC power and not on battery power.       Windows performance Troubleshooter:
      1. Close all open windows.
      2. Press the Windows logo key + X key on the keyboard.
      3. Click Control Panel.
      4. Click System and Security.
      5. Under Security and Maintenance, select Troubleshoot common problems.
      6. Under System and Security, click Run maintenance tasks.
      7. Follow the on-screen instructions and prompts to complete the process.
      8. Restart the PC.

    probably a decent laptop, annoying set up.

    probaby a decent laptop but requires way too much personal info to "activate" it, info it does not need. When it got to installing my E-mail it tried to make me set an a "G-mail" account which i dont want. It then informed me Yahoo E-mail is not compatible with the laptop, I have little time for this BS so it went back into the box, where it sits now, i should send it back.

    No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    Battery is bad on my new computer. Now I got to drive 68 miles one way to get it fixed. Probably cost me 40 bucks in gas and two and a half hours of my time. I could ship it a lot easier

We apologize for the troubles you have come across with your Dell Inspiron 3511 computer because its battery is not good. If the performance of the battery is not as good as you would expect, we recommend changing the Power Plan:

      1. On the notification area of the taskbar, right-click the Battery icon.
      2. On the options list, click Power Options.
      3. Select a power plan on the battery meter, such as Power Saver or Balanced. Windows 10 has a built-in 'Battery Saver' mode that can be activated to extend your system's battery life. The Battery Saver mode will monitor and limit background activity and other features such as push notifications. You do have the option to enable or disable this mode within settings or within advanced Battery Saver settings, you can customize the mode to best suit your needs.

      a) Click on the Action Center icon in the taskbar and select the tile for Battery Saver.
      b) If running Cortana then type Battery Saver into the search box and select from the results.
      Within the Battery Saver settings page, you will be able to turn on and off the feature and customize the feature to best meet your needs.
      c) Turn the Battery Saver On or Off.
      d) Additional settings are available via the Battery use and Battery saver settings links.
      e) Battery use shows further info on apps and their power usage.
      f) Battery Saver Settings screen allows you to customize further Battery Saver features.
