      Thank you very much for your valued feedback. We are sorry to hear about the issues you came across with your Inspiron 3511 laptop because of its touchpad.
      Some Notebooks and Tablets with Keyboards have added gesture features to the touchpad hardware and drivers. A few of these features are two or three-finger scrolling, pinch zoom, circle zoom, rotation, and swiping. These new features may be the reason for the erratic cursor movement since most are turned on by default. You can disable or modify the way the features work in the touchpad driver properties. Here are some tips to modify these settings:

      1. In the Search box, type main.cpl.
      2. Touch or click main.cpl in the list of programs.
      3. Touch or click the Dell Touchpad tab.
      4. Touch or click on the picture of the touchpad.
      5. Touch or click Gestures (depending on your computer there may not be a Gestures option).
      6. Change the options as preferred.
      7. Touch or click Save.
      8. Touch or click the X in the upper-right corner to close the Dell Touchpad Utility.
      9. Touch or click OK on the Mouse Properties window.
      10. If the touchpad still does not work after following the preceding steps, refer to Dell Knowledge Base article - http://dell.to/2iaiujA.

    Do not buy. Camera does not work and customer service from Dell has spent hours troubleshooting with absolutely no resolution. This is a huge regret.

I have provided troubleshooting steps below to help resolve your issue.

      1. Close any applications that are using the webcam (this may include web pages). Save and close any applications that you are working on as the computer will need to restart.
      2. Press and hold the Windows key, and then press the q key.
      3. In the search box type device manager.
      4. Select Device Manager (Control panel) in the list of results.
      5. Touch or click the plus (+) sign to the left of Cameras or Imaging Devices.
      - Note: When there is no listing for Cameras or Imaging Devices, "Contact Technical Support."
      6. Touch and hold or right-click Integrated Webcam or USB camera.
      7. Touch or click Uninstall.
      8. Confirm the uninstall process by clicking OK.
      9. Once uninstalled, restart the computer.
      - Note: Windows 10 will automatically detect and install the Webcam drivers.
      10. When the Webcam does still does not function, the webcam software should also be uninstalled and reinstalled after the drivers are installed. Contact the Webcam software provider for assistance.

    Wanted to select duck duck go as primary browser and couldn’t be down also it keeps trying to connect my devices which I do not want to do. Found it very cumbersome with a lot of pop ups.

    I picked this up on June 25th- it just stopped working. Unfortunately past the 15 day window for returns so now I get to deal with Dell. Yay?

      We would like to thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We apologize for the issues you have come across with your Dell Inspiron 3511 laptop because you are having trouble connecting it to the internet.
      Below I have provided some resolutions to this issue. I have also provided the full article link, which has more options if they are needed. I have also included a link to the Drivers and Downloads page for your PC so you can check for applicable updates to the WIFI drivers.

      1. Download and install the latest Wireless Card driver. (https://dell.to/2th3Tpe) After updating the driver, re-establish the connection with the Wireless Access Point and check the wireless performance.
      2. If the issue persists, proceed to step 3.
      3. Power-cycle the local network. Shut down the Dell system, the Wireless Access Point/Router, and the Modem. Wait a minimum of 60 seconds before powering up the components in the following order:
      4. Power ON the Modem and wait for it to boot fully.
      5. Power ON the Wireless Access Point/Router and wait for it to boot fully.
      6. Power ON the Dell system.
      7. Open Network and Sharing Center
      8. In the left-side navigation pane, click on Change Adapter Settings
      9. Right-click on the wireless connection icon and select Properties followed by the Configure button
      10. Under Wireless Options, select the Wireless N mode
      11. For Windows 8 or later systems click the Advanced tab and look for 802.11n Mode on the right you will be given the option to Enable or Disable. If the mode is not visible you may need to update your drivers and firmware.
      12. From the drop-down menu, choose Disable followed by Ok
      13. This should restore the wireless download and upload speed. Internet speed can be tested at http://speedtest.net

      To help with overheating issue, we would recommend making sure the BIOS is up to date on your PC. I have provided a link to the Drivers and Downloads page so you can check for and do any applicable updates. I have also included a link to the full article if more information is needed.
      Dell has released an Intel Power Management Utility to help with the overheating that you may be experiencing on your computer. For this package to take effect, the system power plan must be set to Balanced under the Additional Power Settings. Also, the Power Mode option that is displayed when you click the battery icon, should be set to Better Performance. This package only takes effect on AC power and not on battery power.     Good buy, great price!

    I use my iPhone for most tasks but still need a computer for long documents. My old computer died so I took a chance with this model and so far it’s great. I still can’t believe the price! Great deal!

    Buy extended warranty - parts fail

    This computer has been nice for the touch screen and ability to get basic tasks done, however 2 to 3 years after purchase my charging port is failing, my camera works intermittently, the fan can be quite loud, and the built in mouse seems a little off. If purchased definitely buy extended warranty, I am suprised I had so many issues with a Dell, I chose them for their quality and maybe desktops and chromebooks are better vs laptops.

    Just got this laptop and i got to say the performance is great and i like the screen size as well as the touch screen features which makes it 10 times easier. This device charges pretty quick to and does not over heat easily
