    I came to see this laptop in person after purchasing it online. I was reading reviews all day and watching countless YouTube channels that reviewed this laptop, hoping that the negative ones weren’t true. Though upon seeing it, I noticed that it was overheating x10 more than the other “value” computers sitting next to it (even the cheaper ones). In addition, the hinge issue everyone’s been talking about seems likely because of how low-quality the computer’s material simply felt overall, including the hinges. The graphics on the display were great and vibrant, which was a plus, but the overheating ultimately made me not want it. It was overheating by just sitting open at Best Buy on their home page, so I can’t imagine how hot it would get once I started really using it. I ended up never picking it up and getting a refund.

    Runs really fast as opposed to some other laptops we have owned in the past. SSD is certainly the best route.

    It takes forever to shut down and Office isn’t as efficient as it is on Mac or Lenovo. Not bad for the price though.

    Touch screen is an advantage. Works great for college. Might be a little overkill for a social science degree, but satisfied with this device

    2 years old and I have replaced the battery once and now the top lid cracked and its just as much to fix as it was to buy it. DO NOT BUY

    Faulty hinge and dell knows but won't fix it. Just needed for college to write payed and do research, so it is fine for that. One week after the warranty expired the metal hinge that is screwed into plastic came apart now we can't open or close it without causing more damage. Shame on Dell!

    This computer really fits my needs. I mostly check email and occasional utilize it for word processing or spreadsheets. I like to store my pictures on it, too. That's why I love that it has an SDMI slot. This was a good deal and works for what I will use it for. Keep in mind, this is not set up to be a gaming computer, but the specs on it work perfect for what I need.

    Love the laptop, not the operating system. Microsoft released their secure version. That means you can only use programs MS wants you to use (read no competitors) or you "break" the secure function. It also means my older, paid for version of Office can't be used. So eventually I'll get tired of not having Word and break the Secure so I can upload software to make it useful without paying for 365 every year. What a rip-off.

      We would like to thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We apologize for the issues you have come across with your Dell Inspiron 3511 computer because its battery is not performing as you expected.
      To help with battery life, I have provided the steps to change the power plan to help improve the performance of your battery. I have also provided the full article, which has more options if they are needed.

      Change the Power Plan:

      1. On the notification area of the taskbar, right-click the Battery icon.
      2. On the options list, click Power Options.
      3. Select a power plan on the battery meter, such as Power Saver or Balanced. Windows 10 has a built-in 'Battery Saver' mode that can be activated to extend your system's battery life. The Battery Saver mode will monitor and limit background activity and other features such as push notifications. You do have the option to enable or disable this mode within settings or within advanced Battery Saver settings, you can customize the mode to best suit your needs.

      a) Click on the Action Center icon in the taskbar and select the tile for Battery Saver.
      b) If running Cortana then type Battery Saver into the search box and select from the results.
      Within the Battery Saver settings page, you will be able to turn on and off the feature and customize the feature to best meet your needs.
      c) Turn Battery Saver On or Off.
      d) Additional settings available via the Battery use and Battery saver settings links.
      e) Battery use shows further info on apps and their power usage.
      f) Battery Saver Settings screen allows you to customize further Battery Saver features.
