Great basic laptop

I bought it and didn’t turn on until last week so my kids can play Minecraft. Fan is so loud. It kicks in after 30 minutes of usage. I thought it was not normal until I read the reviews and realized it’s a common issue with this laptop. It’s also very slow! Key board and the entire laptop just feels so cheap. The laptop just heat up so quickly

We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your review. We apologize for the overheating and performance issues you are experiencing with your Dell Inspiron 15 3511 laptop.
To help with the overheating issue, we would recommend making sure the BIOS is up to date on your PC. I have provided a link to the Drivers and Downloads page so you can check for and do any applicable updates. I have also included a link to the full article if more information is needed.
Dell has released an Intel Power Management Utility to help with the overheating that you may be experiencing on your computer. For this package to take effect, the system power plan must be set to Balanced under the Additional Power Settings. Also, the Power Mode option that is displayed when you click the battery icon, should be set to Better Performance. This package only takes effect on AC power and not on battery power. There are several ways to help improve the performance of your computer if it is running slower than you expected it to. We'd recommend the following steps to help improve your computer's overall performance and speed:
1. Restart your computer regularly.
2. Run the automated tools provided in the SupportAssist Tool.
3. Run a complete hardware diagnostic test.
4. Scan your computer for malware.
5. Restore your Dell computer using Windows System Restore.
6. Reinstall Microsoft Windows.
7. Ensure Windows Update and BIOS is up-to-date.
8. Run Windows Task Manager to check if any device usage is over 90%. If yes, try to End Task to some processes which use higher resources.

Still, I was leery of getting Windows 11 because I had never seen it before, much less used it, but once I used it for awhile, I was glad I got it. Bottom line, I am very satisfied with my purchase.
