    For the price, this thing is a piece of junk. It routinely and randomly shuts itself down during ordinary use, and will refuse to turn back on without dozens of attempts. The touchpad is garbage and barely works. Metal body is decent, but doesn't make up for the rest. Buy the HP.

    Flickering screen issue

    Brand new right out of the box the screen starts flickering and goes out at times. I have to close the screen and open it to get it to come back on. Then the flickering starts again and drives me crazy! Looks like this model has bugs with the screen adapter controls.

    Dell Inspiron 7000

    So far it works fine but does have a rather annoying buzzing sound. I have read this on other reviews and it can be a bit annoying when in sleep mode.

    Horrible on battery life

    We bought this for my son for school but we had to return it as the battery life is no where near as advertised. We ended up getting a chromebook so his battery lasts the whole day. Aside from the battery, it worked well and i would recommend this in situations where you could leave it plugged in all day. For this reason I did click Yes I would recommend this ti a friend, but I would just add it has to be the right situation.

    It keeps shutting off!

    I returned this Dell laptop because it keeps shutting off by itself in the middle of my photo editing work. I had the Geek squad set it up for me but when i started workingon it, after a few hours, it started shutting off. I turned it on and after few hours again, it shut off by itself. On the second day, it shuts off again but this time, it will not turn on again until the following day. I cannot work with this laptop and i have a due project to finish. Dell needs to fix this issue.

      We're sorry to hear about the issue that you had with your computer turning off on you. In the future we'd recommend reviewing the settings for automatic updates on your computer. Many times after these updates are installed a shutdown is required. There is also a checkbox in the Power Manager that you can uncheck that will not allow your computer to shut down when in sleep mode in order to conserve power.

    Terrible Display.

    It's a fine laptop, works, I like the tablet use but it has a terrible display. I've been having screen flickering issues based on what is being displayed on my screen when running on battery power. It is incredibly frustrating and I can't get it to stop. I've been working with Dell for over a month trying to get it resolved and they have not been able to figure out the issue. Don't buy.

    mis leading of what it comes with

    the phone connection or link does not seem to work with iphones. I have a new iphone 12 pro max and I bought this laptop because I wanted the feature of seeing my texts on my laptop while working on my laptop, not going back and forth with my phone then laptop. It does not state anywhere that it does not work with iphones- I want this fixed on my laptop or replace my laptop with one that does everything it says it's to do

    Extremely regretting this purchase

    I don’t leave reviews but wanted people to have a heads up. Don’t buy this laptop. Computer had issues since I purchased it. Blue screened on the 6th startup (of course out of the return window). I just spent 2.5 hours on the phone with dell support and they couldn’t fix the issue. They are now sending someone to my location in the next few days. I bought this laptop for something more reliable on stage when performing music. I use an ableton loop station setup. And here I am cancelling my show this weekend because my brand new laptop.

      1. At the desktop, click the Search the web and Windows box and type ""problem reports"".
      2. Select View all problem reports to view a list of errors that have occurred on your computer and possible solutions for them, such as updating drivers, flashing your system BIOS, or checking for updates to the software.
      3. Under the Source column, look for Windows and under Summary, look for Shut down unexpectedly.
      4. Right-click the line item and select Check for a solution.

    Powered Off on its own! Won't Turn On Again

    Bought it in February to store only music and documents. I only ever use Word because I do write a lot. After 6 months and only a handul of uses, it turned off on its on in the middle of my work and refused to turn on again. Even the power adapter did not want to charge it. Took it to a tech who couldn't fix it and recommended I call Dell. Made contact today with Dell and they will be sending a technician to my house to try to fix it. We will see how it goes but am regretting buying it because the memory storage is also not very good.

      In the meantime, there are steps that can assist with troubleshooting your startup issue. Here are the recommended steps for troubleshooting this issue:

      1. If the computer is displaying the Dell logo and does not move past that point, it has probably failed POST.
      2. If the power indicator lights up and it is amber or orange, this is usually an indicator that it has failed POST.
      3. If you see text on a black screen, the computer is currently performing the POST. If the computer stays in that condition and does not move past it, it has probably failed POST.
      4. If the video screen displayed anything at all during the startup process but is now black, this probably indicates that the computer failed POST.
      5. If the computer is beeping or if Caps/Num/Scroll Locks are flashing, note if there is a particular pattern in which it beeps or flashes.
      6. If the computer is not beeping and caps/num/scroll locks are not flashing, unplug all connections and remove all media communication devices (e.g. external monitors); reconnect one at a time and check if the computer functions.
      7. For a notebook, press and hold the Fn key and then press the power button. This starts the pre-boot testing and will launch ePSA. In case you have a Desktop at the Dell logo screen tap the F12 key to enter One Time Boot Menu and use the arrow keys to highlight Diagnostics and press enter.

    Devil in disguise OR Beast in white gown.

    I bought this beautiful beast thinking I have had it all this machine is actually a total waste of money and energy. The screen freezes anytime the display went off .I have to wait wait and keep pressing space bar keep,the power button key and moving my cursor for about 10 ,15 to 30 minutes before the screen can function. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS USELESS LAPTOP. Be worn and be advise please. Listen to me or else you will regret it. This is barley two months.bought it in July and now I can’t return it.

      Here are the recommended steps for troubleshooting your freezing issue:
      1. Run a Computer Diagnostic. To determine if your computer is experiencing a hardware problem, run the Dell Preboot System Assessment (PSA) Diagnostics. For information on how to run Diagnostics, and to determine the issue, refer to Dell Knowledge Base Article: http://dell.to/2iaiujA.
      2. Check Safe Mode for Symptoms. To boot into safe mode, please follow the instructions below:
      a) Start the computer.
      b) Tap 'F8' on the keyboard immediately and every one second until the Dell logo screen disappears. From there you will see the Windows Advanced Options Menu on the screen. (If the Windows Advanced Options Menu does not appear, restart the system and try again.)
      c) Select Safe mode with Networking and press Enter.
      d) Log on as the administrator or as a user with administrative access.
      e) Open applications and test the computer in safe mode. If the symptoms exist in safe mode, please continue the troubleshooting steps in this article. If the symptoms do not exist in safe mode, the issue is likely related to a driver or software and you may wish to complete step 3 to see if you are able to resolve the lockups or freezing.
