I can not find a way to to keep it active when lying on its display and a large external monitor is wired.

A Total Disappointment!

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.When my 8 year old Dell Inspiron 17" laptop began showing signs of senile dementia, I purchased this Consumer Reports top rated 17" laptop and spending several hours setting it up, it went to sleep on day 10 and refused to wake up. The Geek Squad tried, but was not able to resuscitate it. A total disappointment!
