Its changed ------------------------------ I used to have a few laptops running AMD A8, A10 and they were never able to compete with the intel's desktop which used to be super smooth and not lagging like the AMDs BUT, THIS THING IS AGAME CHANGER FOR AMD! How did i test -------------- I bought the latest Battlefield 4 game and i also have played battlefield 4 on the xbox one. This one beats that thing out of the water. i also bought a set of nice logitech speakers to go with this. the room really looks like the den now, love it Worth the purchase ------------------ you are not buying a 300$ desktop, this is the top of the line desktop, so you will need to compare it to an i7 to be fair, with that being said, i can sell off my xbox one and play games on this one, also doubles up as a regular work desktop , so why not! Worth buy!!

I've been playing with this computer for about a week now and it is amazing. I put Battlefield1 in heavy rotation and was thoroughly impressed. With all the settings Ultra the game hums along at over 60fps without even starting to tax the RX580 GPU. The design is fairly minimal compared to other gaming units, and it may be my advancing age but I quite like something that can sit on my desk next to my work machines and doesn't look like a monster truck at a Bentley convention. It has plenty of USB 3.1 connections and USB-C front and center where its easily accessibly. Bluetooth 4.1 is also supported which means all of your latest BT peripherals will work. While I definitely give my hard earned (and rare) 5 stars to this desktop and plan to use it for many years to come both as a development and gaming rig there are a few cons worth noting: Plastic Case: As I said I personally like the minimalist style but it is a plastic cover and doesn't feature the same stylistic or functional (heat) as more expensive models made by gaming-specific brands. Cooling: Only two fans are included in the unit. Reading on the forums the 1700 is the best of the 7-series Ryzens but that's mainly because you can overclock it to the same speed as the 1800X and 1700X - in this configuration cooling would be an issue and I'm probably not going to overclock. Expansion: This seems to be built without future-proofing as there isn't a whole lot of room for expansion even though its relatively easy to open the case, you don't have a whole lot of options once your in there. Blu-RAY: overall I would've appreciated a blu-ray drive but its a small annoyance since I can stream just about all my movies at this point. Peripherals: Hopefully you already have a good keyboard and mouse because the ones that ship are functional but not great. This was my first AMD experience in a number of years, and it was totally worth switching.
