This is a very impressive yet average laptop. This computer looks and feels sharp but is underwhelming when pushed to do more than basic tasks. Impressive aluminum body which feels premium defying the price point. Screen was acceptable also at this price though not a compelling buying feature. This is an average computer, after all. PERFORMANCE Cinebench R23 ratings have a strong single core of 1764, but when pushed on multi-core, this is surprisingly underwhelming at 5815. The best part of the performance is the drive read and right scores with Crystal Disk Mark read score of 5450 with write speeds of 4768. While these speeds are not leading edge, considering the price point of the computer, it is acceptable. The storage was at 1 TB of space as well. I feel this computer was let down by its intel processor - for an Ultra 7 it did not impress. FEATURES Touch screen and backlit keyboard which is actually not bad as I'm typing the review on this laptop. Trackpad is typical of the over-sensitive nature of the modern laptop though it is no worse than others. As noted the construction of the shell is aluminum, not plastic. Thankfully the backlit keyboard is easy to read with darker keys, not lighter ones. MAJOR ISSUE - WINDOWS 11 I am an advocate for Windows 11, but I cannot understand how Dell can ship a computer that takes longer to update than a $500 mini computer from a lesser brand. I was shocked that it took nearly an hour to capture and to install the needed updates for Windows. What is shocking is that none of these updates are new - these should have been installed at production and the computer should be ready to use with minor updates. Windows and Dell are making a great case to go for a computer made by the Fruit company that is ready to use out of the box with minimal updates. CONCLUSION Depending on how you shop (for price), there may be better options than this computer that perform better when pushed. This would be a good computer for someone who doesn't demand much, but it is surprisingly mediocre with the intel boat anchor processor. It is odd that I have a laptop with a first generation Ultra 9 that competes in this price area that slam dunks over this computer when doing processor intensive tasks. And it has the same ram and is first generation of the chip.

Works well, good for school and personal needs, good for begginners

This is a decent laptop...relatively powerful, but has some physical characteristics that hurt it. As a 14-inch 2-in-1, it's a perfect size to fit in a bag or briefcase; but it actually feels heavier than it should. Fortunately, it has exactly the right number of full ports, making a dongle unnecessary. The chicklet-style keys are surprisingly soft and pleasant to type on. They're just the right size and are incredibly comfortable to use. The Copilot+ implementation is standardized for these types of laptops and this one works as well as expected. Yes, Copilot+, itself, is in need for updates, but the system works great. The main problems I have with this laptop are essentially all physical: Keyboard Flex The keyboard on this laptop has a really bad flex to it. You can see how far the keyboard sinks down when you press on it, and it's one of the first things I noticed when I started using it. It doesn't appear to affect the quality of my typing (at least so far), but seeing the flex constantly is very jarring. Screen Scrap When you open the screen, the back of it folds down to make contact with your desk/table surface - lifting the back higher than the rear bottom cushion. Normally, this would be fine as long as there was some rubber padding, but the screen only has tiny, minimal padding that doesn't seem to actually touch the surface. Instead, when I open the laptop, I can hear the screen scraping the table. This means it's highly possible to wear down that back rim of your laptop (or scratch your desk surface) simply by sliding the laptop around. The above physical issues were enough for me to withhold higher stars, mainly because they keep bothering me. But everything else about this laptop is good. The screen is also pretty great and easy to read, the memory is a good baseline and the drive offers plenty of room for basic use.
