Dell wins again with a small portabilty powerhouse
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a long time fan and always trusted Dell for delivering quality PC products, this 14" 2-in-1 touchscreen laptop absolutely continues that legacy. I picked this one up for my daughter to support her ongoing education, and from the moment I unboxed it, I knew this was one of Dell’s most thoughtfully designed compact laptops yet. Despite its slim and portable form factor, Dell managed to pack in some serious horsepower. We’re talking an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, paired with the mobile Intel ARC GPU, a combo that handles multitasking, media, and even creative work with zero hesitation. Toss in 1TB of SSD storage,16GB of RAM, and the ever improving CoPilot AI, and you’ve got more than enough storage space and speed for schoolwork, research, media creation, and even a bit of light gaming or AI-powered productivity. The 14" touchscreen is absolutely gorgeous, small bezels, crisp, vibrant, and responsive. Whether you’re using it in traditional laptop mode for typing up assignments, tablet mode for casual browsing or reading, or even tent mode for streaming shows or video chats, the screen adjusts effortlessly. Those 360-degree hinges feel solid and durable, so I’m confident this thing will hold up through daily flips and folds. My daughter has already used it multiple times for video tutoring sessions and the video, camera, and speakers work as if it is on a full desktop pc. I was very impressed and happy to see my daughter getting the best use out of this already. A major bonus for me and more so for my daughter is the power adapter setup. It includes a small 65W USB-C power brick, but what’s even better is that you can just use your existing USB-C wall charger, the same one you might already carry for your phone. That’s a huge win for portability and less cord clutter. And the battery life on this laptop easily lasts close to a full day with light work. I’m sure with standby and tweaked power settings, we can make the battery last well into day 2. And despite its slim design, Dell didn’t skimp on ports. You get: 1 full-size HDMI 2.1, two USC-C ports (1 Thunderbolt 4 , 1x USB-C 3.2 both with power and display support), 1 USB-A 3.2, and 1 3.5mm headphone jack. That’s more than enough for anything that you could need for such a compact laptop. These connections allow you to connect endlessly from external monitors to accessories and flash drives. Seriously, what more can you ask for in a compact powerhouse? One feature that caught me off guard in the best way, the fingerprint sensor built right into the power button. I was hunting around for it at first and then realized it was staring me in the face. Subtle and effective biometric security. Performance wise, this thing is a champ. It stays cool and quiet, thanks to Dell’s smart cooling layout, and I haven’t noticed any signs of thermal throttling even during heavier tasks. Copilot AI integration is just icing on the cake. It’s only getting better with time and helps boost productivity and creativity in ways you might not even expect. It’s wild to think of the possibilities that come with AI baked into Windows at this level. Whether it’s for school, light creative work, or streaming your favorite content, this Dell 2-in-1 is a compact beast that checks all the right boxes. It’s stylish, fast, full of features, and incredibly practical for anyone who’s on the move. My daughter absolutely loves it, and as a longtime Dell fan, I can honestly say this one lives up to, and maybe even exceeds the standard I’ve come to expect. I Highly recommend it for students, professionals, or just anyone who appreciates solid design and high performance in a sleek package.

Just more nickle and dimeing. Either provide the complete ready to use software or don't bother. I don;t want some MS subscription that just bilk us for more money.

Excellent !
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unboxing was without anything unusual. Laptop was well packaged with a dust bag, charger and power cable. Laptop was classic, medium weight and with a solid feel build. It wasn't what I would call lightweight, but I did like its solid feel and it wasn't 'heavy'. Uses a USB C to charge, and charged fairly quickly from low out of the box. Laptop has a finger print sensor which was a bit quirky with my fingers which is not the first time. Processor is an Ultra Core 7 Series 2 which was snappy and super responsive. Programs loaded quickly and with any lag (am using super fast wifi connection), but the computer was definitely responsive. There is no skimping on memory or storage as this had 16gb of ram and 1tb of SSD storage. The touch pad was large and responsive. The keyboard had a nice feel be it with a little more resistance than I am used to having. The screen was bright and sharp. I did like that it can fold into tablet form, but it wasn't light enough or thin enough to be really a tablet. It has 2 USB C ports on the left- I wish it had one more plus a SD card reader. Battery life so far had been very good. I most watch videos and do usual emails, but I do use my computer a lot. So far the battery has never failed me in any day. I would say this is an excellent computer and checks the boxes.

Great laptop for work, school, and travel.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, this is a great laptop. It boots fast, has enough memory to do most tasks for the average user, and it fits in most bags. With a 14-inch monitor, the keyboard is full-size, which has a more natural feel compared to 13-inch laptops. Dell does a great job even with their 13-inch computers, but I like this more. The only downside to the larger size is more weight. It does feel heavier than my 13-inch machine, but I doubt I will feel much difference when carrying it in a backpack. This is still small enough and light enough that I think it would work great on a plane. So far, the battery is working great. As I type this, it says I have over 6 hours left with it sitting at 76%. But that completely depends on how hard it is working. With the bigger screen and faster processor, this machine requires a 60+ watt power adapter, which limits the use of some random USB-C adapters. The included adapter is definitely larger than some of the older models. At least with the higher wattage, charge time is fast. I am happy that they still use USB-C charging, so it can use universal adapters, as long as they have enough wattage. When asleep, the screen turns on in about one second. It is the fastest startup time I have seen. Boot time from being completely off is about 20 seconds – also decent. The touchpad is massive and works really well. It is still well-positioned and accessible, but I am not accidentally touching it while typing. Of course, this machine is a 2-in-1, so the screen is a touchscreen. It flips back to go into tablet mode if people want to go completely touch. I love having the capability of both modes. The only downside is that touchscreens are glossy, which increases glare on the screen, just like any other tablet. The only time I really notice the glare is if the screen itself is black. I do not notice much glare with a white background. In benchmark testing, the graphics processor is the only component not scoring well, which is expected because this is not a gaming machine. Short of 3D gaming, or major statistics processing, people should not have any issues. It still works great for general business and consumer tasks. Video quality is excellent! I watched multiple 4K demo videos, and I am impressed with the clarity, vivid colors, and excellent ability to display motion in high resolution. There is no blur or jagged playback. The processor, memory, and SSD are all performing above expectations, so there are no concerns with those components. The network card connects to my network via 802.11be / WiFi 7. Through multiple tests, I have been able to upload files to my network storage at over 2,400 Mbps (my WiFi maxes out at 2,500 Mbps), but the fastest download has been 648 Mbps. I am not sure if I am having a network issue or if the card does not want to download faster than that. Regardless, it is still a fast, stable connection. I am happy with the WiFi connection. Another nice perk of being a slightly larger machine is more ports. I am thrilled that this has a USB-A port, two USB-C ports (one doubles as the power input), a full-size HDMI port, and an audio jack. These ports fulfill the majority of my needs. One of the downsides of machines smaller than this is the lack of ports, so I am really happy with this selection of options. Overall, I love this computer and would definitely recommend it to friends, as long as they do not want to use it for gaming. It fulfills all of my needs for work and personal use while traveling.

Solid choice for HS or college student!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this new addition from Dell now for about 5 days and overall, it is an adequate laptop for everyday users with decent specs. Unboxing – Happy to see that there is all recycled materials in the packaging and minimalistic by design. Inside are the laptop wrapped in a black protective thin material, the charging brick (which is relatively small given how large some of these can get) and some minimal paperwork. Setup – My goodness, get ready for about a 2-hour set up process. Downloading all the windows updates and Dell bios updates were unbelievable for a “new” laptop on the market with Dell new product line-up. I gave up trying to use the laptop the evening I turned it on due to this laborious process. By far the longest set up process for a laptop I have ever purchased / used. Appearance – Very nice aluminum frame with easy to see letters and numbers on the keyboard both with and without backlit keyboard on. Port are perfect – an HDMI, USB-A, 2 USB C, and headphone jack. Perfect for a high school or college student who may need all of these connections. The screen is LED and ridiculously bright – I had to set it at about 10 percent inside and was easily viewable outside on higher brightness. At just over 3 pounds it is pleasant to hold. Performance is as expected for this 1GB SSD, 16 GB RAM machine with Intel core ultra-7. No issues here and no surprises. The Co-Pilot usability is a bit in development still, not just on this machine but all machines. With the advent of AI tech, all companies are seemingly racing to put out an AI just to say they have an AI. It works in some apps, not others and is most definitely not intuitive. Battery life is amazing and appreciated – approximately 18 hours on regular daily use (not gaming or intense sessions of video watching). Overall, this laptop performs as it should, no surprises. I feel this is a good laptop that has outstanding battery life and performs as it should. Nothing more, nothing less. An ideal good looking, light cost effective machine with perfect connections (HDMI, usbA, usb C, headphone jack) for the student in your life going off to college or HS. I give this a solid 4/5.

Perfect Size for a Laptop/Tablet
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dell has a winner with this 14 inch laptop/tablet. One of the first things I noticed was the impressive battery life. Years ago, I felt lucky to get five hours out of my first laptop. I used this Dell on and off for over 20 hours and it still had plenty of battery left! The new Intel Core Ultra 7 processor delivers the same speed as older models while consuming less battery. As a result, the computer stays cooler, so you won’t feel like you’ve got a heating pad on your lap. The screen is bright and clear. Because it’s a ‘convertible machine’, obviously it has a touchscreen. You can bend the screen all the way around giving you a tablet mode, or make a ‘tent’ out of it to watch a movie. The back-lit keyboard feels great. Here’s a hint for you, the factory-set keyboard backlight times out after a few seconds. If you want it lit continually, there’s a setting in the BIOS that will handle that for you. The touchpad is the largest I’ve ever seen on a laptop and is very responsive. A one finger tap simulates the left-click on a mouse, and two finger tap simulates a right-click. I appreciate the 1,000-gigabyte SSD. Most computers in this price range come with only a 500-gig drive, so the extra storage is definitely a bonus. The built-in 1080p webcam has a feature I like, a built-in sliding cover that can block out the camera which is great for privacy. This Dell features a fingerprint reader right on the power button, so you don’t need a password every time you open the lid. It does not have the option however to use the webcam for Windows Hello facial recognition as some other laptops do these days. This machine has all the ports you could ask for. Two USB-C ports, a USB-A port, and HDMI port, and even a headphone jack for a wired headphone which I haven’t seen on a laptop for years. Its WI-FI system took full advantage of my Comcast high speed Internet. I was having fun with the new AI features of this laptop. You can watch a video in a foreign language and the computer will translate and live caption it for you in real-time. Of course it will also close-caption in English as well. Here’s a secret, it also corrected a few of my sentences here to make me sound more understandable. Bottom line, I think you’ll enjoy using this laptop/tablet from Dell. At 3 ½ pounds it’s not the lightest 14” laptop you’ll find out there, but it’s very solidly built and should last you a very long time.

Good, efficient laptop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Dell Plus 2-in-1 Copilot+ PC is a solid device with some quirks. The specs are well within reasonable performance expectations for a Windows 11 PC with AI integration. You should have plenty of power to rely on this computer for years to come. That being said, the price point is really good for a 4yr college laptop or a home office laptop assuming your tasks don't frequently dip into heavy processor or GPU activities like gaming, AutoCAD, photo/video production, etc. It is more than enough machine to handle your MS Office tasks such as Teams, Excel, Word, etc. as well as basic Adobe Photoshop or Acrobat PDF tasks. To improve performance and battery life, Dell has built this laptop with an Intel NPU processor to handle AI (Copilot) activities. Isolating those responsibilities to the NPU allows the CPU and graphics processor to be more efficient while the NPU is cranking away at AI tasks like voice-to-text or image generation. That being said, I don't know that you necessarily "feel" the NPU making things more efficient but anything that saves on battery or isolates intense processes like AI is a win in my book. To be honest, I don't currently--nor do I plan to in the future--use AI as a tool to create as much as I use it to ask questions or initiate research. The 2-in-1 design has become a must for me. While I don't flip the laptop into a tablet all that often, just knowing I can completely flip the monitor all the way around is nice so that I can tent the laptop while using it as a "television" or I can "tablet" the laptop when doing some heavy reading. The design and feel of the laptop is nice, and nothing out of the ordinary. Comfort features include a backlit keyboard, Image Creator which combines elements of MS Paint with Dall-E, Live Captions to "close caption" on the fly, responsive touchscreen with adequate indoor brightness, fingerprint reader, lightweight, wifi 7, ample and fast local storage, it still has a USB-A port and audio AUX port, and long (24hr rated) battery life that only takes about an hour (maybe?) to fully charge. As for drawbacks, I suppose the audio (speakers) are a bit bland and average. I also wouldn't put this laptop in the "corporate" environment as it is designed and built for student/home business use, in my opinion. Overall a solid laptop in the mid-class (college student or home office) range of laptops. AI will run more efficiently on this device, but if you are not embracing AI to create content or "enhance" your life, you likely don't need anything branded "Copilot+PC." Nonetheless, no reason to avoid the hardware technology integrated into Copilot+PC machines--you might as well take advantage of the upgraded specs that are required for this class of laptop.

Steaming Along Very Nicely-Good Cumputer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s no reflection on this laptop, but I’m getting extremely weary of the length time it takes to do all the updates from Windows 11. Set aside a good two hours for this. It is literally like watching paint dry! I need to set up less computers. This laptop is fast! It’s one of the fastest devices I own! It’s speed, no doubt, comes from its Phison Electronics Corporation, NVMe PCIe 4.0, Solid-State Drive (SSD), 1 TB SSD drive. Phison, a Taiwanese company, is known for making exceptionally fast SSD drives. This particular model P0327 comes in the 1 TB version. Just for simple test, I grabbed a random 12.4 GB of files, made up of 149 separate files in 12 folders. I copied them to one directory and made three other root directories on the Phison SSD. I copied them three times to the three other directories. The times to copy 12.4 GB of files were 7.54 seconds, 7.22 seconds, and 6.85 seconds. That was staggeringly fast. I guess I’m most impressed with the fingerprint sign in though. It was very easy to set up and involves the top right key only. Works every time! Hooked up to my Wi-Fi 7 like it was born to. This laptop has Wi-Fi 6 and did not need me for anything but the password. Once I gave it, it never looked back. It’s probably me, but I occasionally have to press a key twice to get it to record the keystroke. I think it happened about four or five times. I’m not removing a star from my rating because, like I said, it is probably me. This laptop has good microphone range. Much better than I expected. The monitor has no dead pixels that I could find and seems very vibrant and solid. This laptop has good keyboard feedback, and wonderfully solid Bluetooth connection. Overall, I think this laptop is worth every bit of its price point and I can highly recommend it to anyone looking for mid-level laptop. Dell is a solid company that stands by its products. This is a workhorse of computer that would serve anyone nicely; student at any level, professional dragging it back and forth to work, professional work-computer, or a very nice home-computer.

Versatile Laplet
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Dell - Plus 2-in-1 14" FHD+ Touch Screen Laptop is comes with a surprise! It can also be converted into a tablet by folding the screen all the way around. It comes with a touchscreen, so tablet mode transition makes it a touchscreen tablet. I found the Dell - Plus 2-in-1 14" FHD+ Touch Screen to be a great all around computer. Housing is very aesthetic and pleasing. They call the color ice, which is supposed to have a hint of blue tint, but it's silver to me. The Dell - Plus 2-in-1 14" FHD+ Touch Screen comes with enough processor and storage to handle the most users daily needs. It has an Intel Ultra 7 Series 2 processor, 16 Gb of RAM, and a one 1 Tb solid state hard drive (SSD), which is plenty of storage. One of the things I would change is 32 Gb of RAM, and a rechargeable stylus for the touchscreen. Intel Arc handles the graphics fine for the laptop use. I really love the ergonomics and design of the Dell - Plus 2-in-1 14" FHD+ Touch Screen. It has a solid feel to it, while not feeling bulky or heavy, only weighing 3.5 lbs. This Dell - Plus 2-in-1 14" FHD+ Touch Screen laptop for it's laptop use to it's tablet convertibility, for just touchscreen use as a tablet. It really is getting 2 for 1 or buy one get one free feature. I definitely recommend it for daily use. I like to use the tablet for lounging around and casual surfing!

Solid, but Heavy on the Lap AND the Wallet
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. From what I understand, the new Dell naming system means that the Dell Plus 2-in-1 14” laptop is supposed to be the successor to the Dell Inspiron 14”. However, in this case, the newer model doesn’t necessarily mean better. Off the bat, when I picked up this laptop, I was surprised at how heavy it was. In comparison, this model is heavier than the Dell Inspiron 14” it replaces, as well as many other of its current competitors in the current marketplace. This is surprising for several reasons. First, this model includes the new Intel Ultra 7 chipset which does actually provide for much better battery life. However, given its weight, I don’t see myself toting this around too often. This feels much like a desktop replacement rather than a laptop: find a place to plunk the thing down and set up show for hours. Another that surprised me about this model was the price. At the current asking price, there are several other ultrabooks with better specs that could be had. Even a lighter, more portable laptop with comparable specs can be had for just about the same price, if not less. The Dell Inspiron 14”, which is still available for purchase, is several hundred dollars cheaper, and provides almost the same experience, save the battery life. Despite the price and weight, the overall experience is pretty good. The keyboard is nice. A little soft for my liking, but it didn’t take much to get used to. It’s also nice to have a physical key function row, unlike the ultrabook types I had mentioned earlier. The trackpad is nice and responsive too. The sound isn’t the best, but it is full and better than I would have thought given the down-firing speakers. In the end, I got this laptop as a workstation replacement, so in that respect, it checks all of the boxes I need nicely. I would definitely recommend this for someone who might want to replace a desktop. I wouldn’t think to recommend this for someone who might constantly be on the go.

Great Option
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used to be a huge Dell computer fan many years ago so I was pretty excited to get a chance to try out the new Dell - Plus 2-in-1 16" FHD+ Touch Screen Laptop. While I typically reach for my non-Windows based laptop more often than not I always keep a Windows based option on hand for tasks that are more dependent on that platform and this one seemed to have all of the features I would need to keep me on task. The added benefit of it being a 2-in-1 is also a nice perk. Setup was relatively simple but a bit tedious due to the updates that Windows-based machines tends to need to go through. If this is your first foray into using CoPilot+ there will definitely be a leaning curve but it's been my experience that it is not too overwhelming and won't be a deterrent for most users. Screen resolution is more than adequate for most users that aren't looking for gaming laptop level specs. The 16 GB memory will fit the needs of most and the 1TB of storage is what I would consider a great starting point option for most users. The keyboard and trackpad was comfortable to work with providing excellent feedback. The speakers provide decent sound quality for a laptop so you can comfortably watch movies/videos and listen to music without feeling like you need to connect to headphones or a bluetooth speaker to enjoy. Overall I feel like this is a great option for almost any user that is looking for a powerful non-gaming machine with AI support.
