Customers find value in the XPS 13's bright screen, long battery life, and ample RAM, frequently praising its sleek design and compact size. The laptop's performance is also highlighted as a positive aspect. However, some users express concern over the limited number of ports, particularly the lack of USB-A ports.

Beauty with too many compromises

I love the form factor and the sleek design. It is great looking laptop but too many compromises for the great look. It is limited to only 2 type c ports which might be OK for some but that means carrying a dongle for many. The touch function keys are also OK after some getting used to but lacking any feedback can be problematic sometimes. The keyboard and touchpad are surprisingly good even though their designs are unorthodox. The FHD+ display compared to OLED options with better resolution is another compromise for the sake of battery life and cost. Finally, the battery life is not that great - 6-7 hours on a typical light use. Overall, it is great looking laptop but too many compromises for everyday use scenario.

I've been looking for a new laptop to replace my aging laptop from 2016. This laptop looked to fit my needs.
The design is sleek and the build quality seems high quality. I have noticed the top does attract fingerprints.
Setup was simple, but that's mostly due to Widows, not the laptop itself. One negative is that there is no clearly marked Power button. I figured it out pretty quickly as it's the only key on the keyboard that's not labeled. There are no docs in the box, you scan the QR code in the box to get to the manual. With the power button not being labeled, it could be helpful to have a quick start guide in the box at least. The screen protector that goes over the keyboard does show where the touchpad and power button/fingerprint scanner are, but that could be easy to miss.
The keyboard is a unique design. There is barely any space between the keys and they are completely flat. It takes some getting used to, especially the touch row where escape and delete exist. The buttons are in the right place, you just don’t get the feedback like you do with a regular key. The Touch panel bar doers work well switching between modes and is very intuitive. I appreciate Dell trying to save some space on the keyboard and allow for a smaller form factor, but I would prefer a normal keyboard with beveled edges and regular keys that provide feedback when you press them.
The touchpad is easy to use. There isn't an outline for the touchpad borders, it looks like there is nothing there at all, but it's very intuitive to use and I haven't noticed any issues using the touchpad.
As far as the software that comes with the laptop, there seems to be more that I'm used to, but nothing extreme.
For ports you only get 2x thunderbolt 4 ports. I don't find that an issue as if I’m using it at my desk, I plug it into a docking station, which has extra ports. The specs on Best Buy's site say it had a mic and headphone jack, but that is incorrect. This laptop simply has 2x Thunderbolt ports.
The WIFI 7 is amazing. I have a Nighthawk WIFI 7 router and this is my first WIFI 7 device. I have a 1Gbps fiber connection and this laptop can get nearly 1Gbps upload and download. I think the best I've gotten on any other device is in the 600Mbps range.
I don't think I've heard the fan once. My last laptop's fan would run constantly, even when idle, so I appreciate how quiet this one is.
I am very pleased with this laptop. The performance has been great for my needs. The only negative for me is the keyboard. If I could give it 4.5 stars if I could.

The Dell XPS 13 is an impressive blend of power and elegance. Featuring a 13.4” FHD+ display, it delivers crisp, vibrant visuals that make work and play a pleasure. The Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, coupled with 16GB of memory, ensures smooth multitasking and responsiveness, while the Intel Arc Graphics handle graphics-intensive tasks with ease. The 512GB SSD provides ample, speedy storage, and the sleek graphite finish adds a touch of sophistication. Whether you’re a professional on the go or a casual user, the XPS 13 combines performance with style, making it a standout choice in the ultrabook category.

I really love this laptop, which is lighter than that of Macbook Air 13, thus easier for me to take it with me. Besides, the super charging system is amazing, which facilitates the charging process greatly. It is perfect for college daily writing, but it may get a little bit stuck when you have too many web pages or apps opened. Personally, I don't know why my eyes don't get hurt when working on this laptop.

Its size convinced me to buy it, it is a little expensive, but it has been worth it, very fast and the battery has a long life. It is a device with very good features, additionally I was very impressed by the size of the charger, as it is easy to carry because of its small size.

I so badly wanted this device. I love the look however the look and feel didn't meet up as I hoped.
The keys are remarkable. Well done, feel great, have good travel and seem to have some kind of no smudge coating or perhaps it is unique to the material. Some of the best keys I have used.
The rest of the deck which is pretty and smooth feels like cheap plastic even thought I think the part where the trackpad is may be glass. It feels smooth and plastic like, it has little micro texture to it to provide texture feedback, it feels more like you are running your fingers and hands across a mirror while I was looking for a little more texture to better understand where my fingers where and how fast they were moving.
There is no demarkation as to the track pad boundary, Again it look great but form v. function at rare times I found myself having to lift my finger and go back again because I was moving outside of the usable trackpad area.
The haptic feedback is a gesture but horrible. It feels like a mouse trying to eat through your floorboards in a wood floor house. The sound is cheep, like the sound of someone flexing a large sheet of tin, the feel itself is mushy.
The screen is great, the top case and bottom were perfect. The unit did get hot fast but I bet with Snap Dragon coming soon that will resolve when they move to ARM chips.
Finally, I rarely use function keys so I wasn't totally put of by the "touch" function keys. My only feedback is that they are hard to see in sunlight or very lit rooms when seated due to the angle the light penetrates the surface.
Had the haptics and key deck surface not been so poor I may have kept it. I returned it for a different device.
My only other feedback that is personal opinion is to develop XPS branding to put on the clam shell. Dell's logo is weak, looks childish and dated. At a meeting with other people who think they love their tech, the Dell logo always looks a little Short Bus and embarrassing.
