Excellent Computer, needs updated drivers or many problem occur. The Intel Drivers need to be downloaded in a folder and then installed by updating the driver file by browsing from Device Manager. The trackpad is great, the screen has crisp colors 100% Adobe RGB but I did uninstall Premire Color because I read it can cause problems. The only issue with mine is under torture test benchmark the temps are alarmingly high. However it has build in Throttling which with the fans help cool the system.

Here's the deal: The Dell XPS 15 9560 is probably one of the best--if not the best--computers currently on the market. Or, at least, it should be. From my experiences with it, I'm not so convinced. The GOOD: Hardware-wise, this computer is phenomenal. Build quality is exceptional all around. The aluminum and carbon fiber work very well together, creating a laptop that not only looks and feels good, but is incredibly strong. The 4K infinity display on the model I got is amazingly vivid and sharp, and is one of the best screens I've ever looked at. Most programs scale correctly with this resolution, though I sometimes experience windows that are either way to small or are very pixelated. For the most part, though, the screen is great. For everyday users, I'm not sure it is worth the extra cash, but for users that need that resolution or color accuracy, there's nothing out there that can match this package. The BAD: Out of the box, this laptop was extremely buggy. After a load of updates, it is only marginally better. I still experience, quite often, audio dropouts, display driver issues (I'll explain later), and other small issues that are likely a result of poor optimization for this hardware by Dell. Possibly the most annoying of these issues is the display driver issues. In everyday use, there's no sign of anything being wrong. However, when I open Adobe Photoshop and try to edit an image, it says that my monitor profile "" appears to be defective, and it will not allow me to edit an image without disabling the color profile, which skews the colors. This is extremely disappointing, especially since there is no real fix for it. I found a workaround that works for one session at a time, but after any power cycle I need to redo it. Another issue I have with the computer is the audio. Not only the audio drivers that occasionally decide to drop out, but also the speakers themselves. They are straight up BAD. One of my speakers suffers from distortion at almost any volume level above 10 (out of 100!), which further decreases the sound quality. I would love to try to get it fixed, but there's no way to get this fixed without sending it back to Dell, which would be a huge hassle. The speakers are already so bad that I use external ones most of the time anyways. The SUMMARY: To conclude, I would have to say that the XPS 15 really should be one of the best laptops on the market, but it isn't. Maybe if Dell would actually provide customers with a bug-free experience. Fortunately, I am reasonably tech-savvy, so I have been able to diagnose and solve most of my problems with this computer so far. If you're not good at that kind of thing, I would actually suggest that you pass on this computer, even though you really should be buying it. It pains me not to be able to recommend this, but I really can't because of my terrible experience with it so far.

I purchased the unit despite reservations considering the number of negative reviews I found. The machine was perfect to replace my older MacBook Pro, if it worked. I went ahead and gave it a try based on: Best Buy return policy, my own PC technical experience, and having a professional IT staff to turn to during evaluation. Upon receiving the machine I first performed a physical inspection finding no issues. Excellent build quality. Then powering up machine I checked for light bleed from screen, no issue. However I did note color uniformity issues in testing that are not noted in normal use. I then ran all MS updates, updated Dell utilities, then used said utilities to update Drivers and firmware. After that I manually updated any drivers the utility missed (or perhaps had not been approved by Dell yet) such as nVidia drivers. Then performed hours of stress tests that maxed out device performance to heat it up and try to make it break. No issues, everything operated as expected, in fact better than expected. After initial checks above I began loading all my SW and Apps. Performance has been uniformly excellent so far. The 4K screen is indeed gorgeous and the machine runs 4K video files without a hitch. It'll knock your socks off (if you're not wearing socks you're likely to lose a toenail or two). The short version based on my experience is to buy with awareness of what issues to evaluate for so you can check for them promptly. Buy from a vendor with a friendly return policy. Based on my machines performance I would say highly recommended. Hope this helps some of you eyeing this machine.

I was thinking about a new touchscreen laptop and researched them extensively. This Dell laptop with a touchscreen is versatile and FAST. I love it ..It has Everything plus POWER

I bought this computer despite reading the reviews here and various places online, to say the least I was very hesitant about this purchase. I knew I might be confronted with numerous QC and driver issues. I took the suggestion of r/dell and did a fresh OS install, made sure I had the latest drivers, and I started using it with no problem so far. The 4k screen is truly great. The touchpad is better than I expected for a windows computer. The computer is fast and has been a good experience so far. I will update if that changes.

Get more for the $ than you do for the MacBook Pro. The experience I have with this laptop is better than I expected. I’m not into the touchscreen, but it’s good to have that option to zoom in on pictures. 4K quality is great. The keyboard area is nice & comfortable. The fingerprint login is awesome! The RAM & SDD performance are top notch. Nothing negative I can say about this laptop.

I searched high and low for the best laptop. I play World of Warcraft so the GTX 1050 is perfect for the game. For everyday use the 4k screen is amazing. You will certainly tell the difference between this screen and any other non 4k display. The laptop fans do run loud when the graphics card kicks in to keep it cool. This is normal. Very fast laptop and can play video games really well (but performance is much better when plugged in). It's very fast and I experienced almost no issues with this laptop. The touchscreen is also a nice addition.

With the beautiful 4k infinity edge display, the dell xps 15 really shines as an editing laptop. Do note that if you plan on using the laptop in 4k, it will drain through battery very fast (as expected). Although when tested during gaming, it didn't perform nearly as well. One quirk I had was that I was unable to connect to the internet but that was fixed through updating some of the drivers which you can find on Dell's website. Overall, this laptop is great and I would recommend it for anyone in the market for a 4k display laptop

I love the feel of the keyboard, fingerprint reader for computer access is faster than a password. The only thing lacking is long battery life. On average, I've been getting approximately 7 or so hours on a full charge and that is not playing any games. With discrete graphics plus the 4K screen, the battery life is to be expected. I use mostly at home, so I almost always have the power supply plugged in.

This computer is a beast! If you are on the fence just buy this computer you will not be disappointed.

My son uses this for his computer programming classes in school. Works great, he said it really fast

It is an excellent laptop, I use it fot editing videos, and ocasional gaming (I own a different pc just for gaming) The downside is that it comes with bloatware and trash. I really liked the fingerprint sign in, did not think I needed but now it is extremely easy to open and use.

I chose the quad core version with 16GB of ram and a 512GB solid state hard drive primarily for the value over the “new” Dell XPS 15, which is even faster with 6 cores and newer technology. This is a great laptop and very fast. A serious gamer might consider the “new” XPS with the faster chip and video card. The quality is obvious. Despite some negative reviews out there, I have had no technical problems with mine. The 4K screen is stunning. I am not bothered that the new model has a similar screen but with an anti reflective coating. You will love this screen. I did buy and adapter plug for direct Ethernet connection to up load and download big files and for streaming. Best Buy delivered to my local store before the promised date. Overall a first class laptop.

I purchased this laptop in open-box, excellent condition, and it was shipped to my home. The laptop was shipped loose in just its original outer box, with the original inner, padded box removed and no outer boxes, bubble wrap, or anything protecting the laptop from being harmed or dinged during transit. It was left rattling loose in a large box with just a thin layer of cardboard (not typical brown corrugated cardboard thickness, but fine black-faced corrugated cardboard) holding it. I returned the laptop without opening the box, since it may have been harmed during shipping. I am familiar with the model, and it performs well, has an excellent screen, and is the best consumer computer I am aware of for productivity and computationally intensive non-gaming tasks.
