Customers love the XPS Desktop's performance and ample RAM, finding it easy to use and appreciate the large storage capacity. While some users noted the included mouse could be improved and expressed a preference for faster Wi-Fi, the overall experience is considered positive, particularly given the price. Many also highlighted the quiet operation and straightforward setup process.

it would be great if you have PCs with professional edition OS. most of the PCs at the store are only home edition. Sometime I need pro edition for business.

    Oops.. don't trust geek squad!

We spoke with geek squad after bringing in our computer and was told the cost to fix the video card would be just about the cost of a new computer. So we looked in store and after tracking down a sales rep we spoke with him regarding our options and described what we needed for our business. He recommended this dell because it was the best one they had on they shelf. It was returned but cleared as perfectly fine through geek squad. So we purchased the dell and 6 days later went to a fatal hard drive error so we brought it back in to geek squad and was told it was unrecoverable and must have been missed during their inspection. All we could do is get a refund only for the sale price it was on and had to go back and choose another computer. After 6 days and trusting the associates once we were hesitant to keep shopping and try again. After debating we talked with an associate that now I will only talk to regarding computers and he sold us the one we have now an option that was never discussed the first time around. The most frustrating part of it all was we trusted geek squad and the sales reps to be honest and even after missing this error it was well it happens.. no sorry for our mistake it was simply oops now pick out another.

    Disappointing Dell

I had a few different Dell computers in years past. I hadn't had one for a while, but the older computers were good so I figured I would give it a shot. Specs looked good so I got it. Huuuuge mistake! Motherboard failed within a week and it wouldn't accept the upgraded RAM I bought. The RAM fit, but the computer threw up every time it was in. Got it swapped out for another one and it quit working as well. Same problem, bad motherboard. Spent countless wasted hours loading software, uninstalling software, trouble shooting etc. just to start back at square one after 2 weeks.

My experience at Best Buy was one of the worst shopping experiences of my life. The employees were rude and uneducated on the electronics they are selling. I purchased 2 different computers and they both crashed, causing me to have to exchange them twice. No one could explain to me why these devices were crashing or give my any guidance or explanation. Geek Squad was a complete waste of time. I will never shop at Best Buy again.

I expected this computer to be faster than my old cheaper one; but, it is slower and seems to stick on items. Very disappointed.

    Worth it!

Not sure what people are complaining about, this system is far from slow. The mouse and keyboard that come with systems are worthless and if not step away and leave the store. This system is very fast I knew before the graphics that came with were not the best but it's one of the reason I went with this system you can actually upgrade the components as needed. For the cost of this system I couldn't believe the CPU it came with. People always want something for nothing. you want to pay $800 for the system and want it to have a $600 graphics card. There is very little software preinstalled which I love, I loathe bloatware. I usually have to spend half the day removing it. This only had to remove the stripped down cyberlink programs and mcaffe Boom done... Again people want something for nothing, they want paid programs for free... if you want free programs get google... overall with a few upgrades I've done since purchasing its a beast and would recommend!!

Intel Knows how to make a fast computer!

I am so happy with this purchase! I initially purchased an AMD FX Series, and it just didn't have the speed that I needed (even after upgrading my memory), so after years of trying, I am back to Intel; WHAT A DIFFERENCE! This machine has so much speed, and the graphics are great for what I need! I am ecstatic with this purchase! And I can't believe that I'm getting this much power with 16 gigs!

    Decent Computer

I purchased this computer as an upgrade from a previous XPS that I had purchased over 8 years ago. I had made upgrades to that PC numerous times over the years and it has run consistently without issues that whole time. While that computer runs great, it had an older processor and due to the motherboard installed it was one that I was unable to upgrade to a newer processor. I purchased this PC because of my good experience with my last XPS. I have had it for a couple weeks now and so far it has been good. I have already made some upgrades to the computer so my review might be a little biased. Overall the computer runs great with no issues, it is smaller than my older XPS so it has taken a little getting used to not being a full sized tower, I am sure down the road with upgrades that will be more of an issue, but for now it works great.

For photo and video editing this computer is incredibly capablel as built. Capable of accepting upgrades for future needs was a deal breaker for me and this unit provides me with exactly what I wanted and needed. This computer also has great potential for gaming and VR as is but with the right upgrades it would be expect it to be hard to beat.

Loving it. I was trying to run Propellerheads Reason 8 on 2 different CPU's before this one (a Dell AMD FX series that I got like 6 months ago and an older cpu). The AMD FX wasn't fast enough and Reason would keep freezing and not keeping up with how many tracks I was running on it. This one handle's it great. I am using it with Universal Audio's Twin Apollo Interface and it exceeds my expectations. Finally have something that can handle Reason 8 or a DAW exremely well! Yay!

Bought this computer a couple months ago and I am absolutley glad I did! It is hard to find something with these specs for the price. I do a lot of heavy design work and have no problems what so ever.

Has good speed, great storage, but whether its the junk added programs or another os issue, disconnecting usb drive, and recognizing them again is an issue. Occasional program lock ups. Not often but enough to dismay...still satisfied with purchase.

New purchase in shop again a second time

Upon buying this PC I added additional 2133 MHZ 16 RAM (2x8) and also switched out the installed 730 GTX NVIDIA graphics card for a GTX 950 NVIDIA graphics card. The PC ran fine and quietly for a few hours and while loading on some programs and cruising on the Internet the PC needed to restart because of "memory_management_"problem. It restarted itself for this reason about 5 times in a 24 hr period and also restarted once for a "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" problem during the randon "memory management" crashes. I took the PC into the GEEK SQUAD and they corrected the memory management problem stating my added RAM was not completely configured for my op-system so they completed it for me. Upon bringing it home about 4-6 hrs of lightly using the PC I got two restart crashes stating "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL". I had a crash before my first shop repair for that same problem but was not addressed with the memory crash problems. This time I got GEEK SQUAD online assistance for this problem and after they ran software tests and driver updates they said that should fix my problem. Four hrs later I got that same "IRQL" restart crash again so I called the online GEEK SQUAD back but this time they told me to take the PC into the shop since they suspected it was hardware-driver problems and in- shop can only test for hardware issues. Now, my PC sits at the shop and I have been emailed they are working on it as I type this review. Just in case they can't figure out what is wrong and they tell me they can't fix this I dropped off a MICROSOFT fix-it recommendation for this "IRQL" crash problem to help them go directly after this known problem with MICROSOFT. Technically, right now, I cannot recommend this PC since my previous DELL I owned never needed shop repair in the 7 yrs and counting-ownership through various upgrades and use that I have given it. New PCs should not have to be in shops upon buying them and when trying to do simple upgrades that are expected and designed for that PC! Pray for my new PC to be ready for this world finally!
