GOOD COMPUTER (DELL) WHICH I WOULD DEFINATELY RECOMMEND TO ANYONE. 09/29/2017

Great computer for what you pay for. Can handle a diverse set of games.

I don't use this computer for anything but bills and iTunes

Bought this because it was a good deal with the student discount.

Recommended by sales staff to meet my needs. I feel it will.

This new Dell XPS is quiet, fast, easy to setup & connect to my network. This is my fourth Dell PC, I wouldn't buy anything else. In 11 years of Dell ownership I've never had a hardware failure. However, the Win 10 Home operating system is a definite step down from my Win 7 Pro PC. There is no Windows Media Center, no Windows Photo Gallery, no windows live mail. No knock against dell but they should know customers aren't happy with Win 10. You can't do anything with your photos except send them to the cloud, can't do much with the mail program, and of course no watching tv on your computer without the Media Center. None of these are available in win 10 pro either. One thing I found disappointing relating to the machine is the standard built-in audio. There's no audio/sound controls like an equalizer or bass/treble controls. There's only volume and balance control. For a machine of this price and quality I expected a better audio setup.

Reviews of this computer were very positive. It was attractive and had the features I needed. The actual experience with it was as follows: After setting up the computer, the on button was pushed. The computer ran a diagnostic indicating something wasn't right with the bios. Spent many hours with tech people at DELL with no success. The Geek Squad recommended it be returned to the store for a replacement. Next day the computer was returned to the store 85 miles away, and a replacement had to be sent to the house. It arrived two days later. After pushing the on button, the computer wouldn't begin. While on the telephone with The Geek Squad, it actually started and they were able to access it and get it up and running. Over the next six weeks, the computer would occasionally not start on the first try but eventually did. When it was on and running, it worked well. By the seventh week the number of times the computer would not start on the first try increased until it stopped altogether. It had to be taken to the store, wouldn't start there, and was left for repairs overnight. It was picked up the next day and worked that evening. Next morning, it took five tries to get it to come on. Contacted The Geek Squad, and they got it running again via the phone this time. The next morning...it wouldn't start. Back those 85 miles to the store and turned it in for an hp. Lots of miles, hours of phone time, and frustration. This computer was a disappointment.

We needed a computer for work. It does what it’s supposed to do.

Using it now to write this review very happy for sure.

I think we bought a lemmon. Had to take in the first 30 days and Best Buy replaced the hard drive. After 12 months, it died and will not boot.

Very satisfied with the Dell computer I purchased.
