There is a major flaw with this system. I originally purchase this receiver 6 months ago from Best Buy. Luckily I got the 2 year geek squad protection plan. The system worked perfect for about 2 months and then randomly stopped connecting via Bluetooth to my phone or ipod when we were trying to play music. I even tried connecting it directly to the USB port on the front and it would say "no connection" even though it was hooked up correctly. Again, it worked perfect when I first purchased it. I decided to unconnect the receiver and bring it back to Best Buy. (Disconnecting the unit from inside the wall was another headache in itself). Long story short I got another from Best Buy and in 3 months literally had the exact same problem. This can't be just a string of bad luck. The receiver was awesome when it actually worked. When playing movies or watching Tv, the sound was awesome. But it wouldn't let me play music from it anymore from any source other than the radio. I wouldn't recommend this product. Too many constant problems from a unit that cost me $579. I took it back and got a Onkyo TX-NR646 and haven't had a problem since. Save your money, get the Onkyo instead!

Bought the unit in April 2016 primarily because of the 4K upscaling in case we get a 4K TV. Unit worked fine until June, when we started experiencing loss of video which Denon support described as HDMI syncing issues. After six separate phone calls, trying numerous steps at their request and even being told the problem might not go away, we shipped to their service center at our cost. During the 30 days it was gone, we had zero video problems. They replaced the HDMI processor board but did not check for firmware update. On return, I updated firmware. We started experiencing loss of video within 30 minutes. Denon's supervisor's first answer was to start trying same steps over, then to return to service center. I'm going to try to use for audio only, send back to service center if that isn't successful.
