With each passing Beach House album you can see the progression in both the lyrics and music.. On this particular album they have tapped into familiarity of genres past. You can hear glimpses of the '40's doo wop/ love songs, the '90's R&B/slow jams. All the while still keeping their music progression fresh and invigorating. The album flows effortlessly and seamlessly. Their best work thus far!!

Beach House's 2nd top 10 album "Depression Cherry" is a 9-song hypnosis that sounds like a cross between the heady guitar & keyboards fireworks of classic My Bloody Valentine and the rootsy Gothic balladry of prime Mazzy Star. Victoria Legrand's vocals are a wonder; it's hard not to be moved by "Levitation," "PPP," or "Bluebird."

Here is an album you will want to listen to again and again. If you haven't heard their previous albums, they are all good. This one is better. The music grabs you and makes you want to play it again and again, unless you like heavy metal or hard rock.

Two people united for one goal. Keyboard washed Dream Pop with gorgeous female vocals, jangly guitar and drum machine. Like a modern ABBA. Release number 5. Can't believe Sub Pop puts out this kind of music these days!

i'd not heard of the group before this their 5th cd i totally have enjoyed it through out the haunting sounds within the songs give way to the sadness of the words gives one a sense of truths

I was so glad to hear of this new album. And then another one was announced shortly after which in my opinion is better than this album. The red case if furry also!

Short but sweet fifth album from the warm sounds of Beach House. Highlights include PPP, Bluebird, Beyond Love, and the single Sparks. And then it's dark again.

Been a fan since Teen Dream and Depression Cherry continues to impress. Space Song and PPP are standouts however the whole album is very good.

I think this is a great album, much like the first. Very slow and dreamy, not for those who fall asleep easily. If you loved the first album, this is more of the same.

Altho the lyrics are incomprehensible the overall mood of this album is of the dream pop variety, you'll get swept away by the vibe. And beautiful velvet cover!

A little different than their other releases, but still great. More of an ominous feeling. Really mellow.

I'd heard a couple of the tunes so I gave it a shot. Was pleasantly surprised. Nice cd. Cool artwork.

This is a delightful change. This group's sound is so very inspiring and good. Everyone get this.

Beach House turns in another tremendous work, this one perhaps most reminiscent of their debut, strange as that may seem.

Excellent album, recommend the physical copy for the best depth of sound available.

Beach House have consistently produced excellent dream-pop albums and their latest is no different.

Great cd would recomend it for sure not their best album but is a must for collection

Beach House continues to evolve.may be their best lp so far.
