Feels like a dlc
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Meh destiny 2 got boring for me really fast feels like a dlc for the first one instead of a new game the ending of the main story is lame and if you don’t have friends to do the only thing that’s good about the game (raid) you will struggle and get bored with it

Great story but not enough end game content
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been playing Destiny since the release of the first game. A lot of people will say that they hated the first one. I agree that there were a lot of issues with it and the content in each DLC for what we paid but it was still a fun game and I made a lot of friends on it. Destiny 2 brings an actual story that you can understand without having to read some cards on their website. They've improved a lot of features and the game just feels way more fluid that the first one. But once you complete the story, all you have left is a weekly checklist that can be completed easily. It leaves you with nothing to do for the rest of the week and you get bored fast.

More of the same...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Okay, hear me out... I put plenty of time into the first Destiny. It was a fun and social experience, but took far too long to get varied content. I felt like I was playing the same thing over and over and over again. Destiny 2 out the gate was a better experience. The campaign was fun and the multiplayer is tight. However, I felt the same ol' same ol' feeling much sooner this time. It's worth getting this at a discounted price to blast through the content with a couple of characters. Past that, I haven't revisited it.

The good, the bad, the ugly
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Destiny 2 is an odd game for me, since Destiny in its final days was perfect to me. Side note, I have spent around 1455 hours playing Destiny over 3+ years. When Destiny received it's last expansion, the team that developed it tried to fix all of the grinding and monotony in the game. They made it easy to progress in level by giving you plenty of options to choose from. Most in-game activities had the potential to give you gear that helped you level. Now, with Destiny 2, it feels like they left that way of thinking behind. Destiny 2 is a real grind-fest in order to level up. Adding to the grind-fest is the severe lack of things to do in the game after you finish it and are trying to hit the current level cap of 305. With each weekly reset you have a few activities that give you random rewards to help you level. The problem is that you don't always get what you need, and that means you have to wait another week for another random chance at leveling up. After I beat the game, it didn't take long to notice the game didn't have much to offer. I hope Bungie fixes the game as time goes on. For more info, search the web for problems with Destiny 2. With all of that being said, Bungie still hits the mark with their control setup in the game. The controls are super responsive and feel natural. For now I wouldn't recommend this game to an individual looking for a game with a lot to do in it. Maybe wait for a later release that includes the DLC if you are on the fence.

Fun for awhile but letdown
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The story for Destiny 2 is pretty decent. The best gameplay comes during the prologue and kind of pacing through the story. Early endgame content isn't too bad for the first week. But the game becomes more repetitive then its predecssor. With exotic gear being easier to get and less quests around them it becomes a run around and just farm enemies and in game events; without any real goal in mind other than get everything and farm exp to get items normally gotten with real money.

More of the same
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I played the original destiny up through the Taken King. Jumping into destiny 2, I felt like not much has changed. Sure new story, enemies, voice actors and locations. But its more of the same and no carry over in terms of items and gear, which i found disappointing. The customization was also identical as the original when u create a charactee. Gameplay is still fun but I see it failing to hold me over long term. Definitely best to play with friends. For the price I paid, this game us definitely worth it.

Destiny 1.5!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is not bad. It's just not good either. It uses nearly ALL the same assets, and world pieces from the first Destiny, including all the same enemies (The good designs, and bad ones. I'm looking at you taken). It's less like a sequel, and more like an apologetic retry, at 60$ a copy. The story is trite, and major plot points are either glossed over, or completely undone within minutes. Lose your light! Your human now! 5 minutes later, you get your light back. That was so intense! The gameplay is good. Which is understandable since the gameplay in the first game was good, and it's basically the same game. Again, controls are good. It's kind of hard to screw up standard FPS controls now a days with so many games that all use the same control scheme. The music is good-ish. I mean, it's good music, but whoever was the musical director apparently didn't know where or when to put the music into the game. So situations where there is nothing going on(no enemies, no battle), have these huge orchestral musical moments. And then there are times where your in an intense firefight and there is no music to be found. Just really inconsistent and somewhat distracting. There definitely is a lack of things to do in game though. After you complete the story missions (an average time of around 10 hours or so) all you have left are the strikes and raids and unless your like doing the same 6 strikes over and over, and the 1 raid your pretty much done. I realize I haven't touched on the pvp aspect of the game, and that's simply because I don't play it. I find most competition pointless. I play games to have fun, and I don't find that aspect fun, so I don't do it. Over all, the game is good, but not great. It reuses WAY too much of the original Destiny, and honestly I walk away feeling less like I bought a new game, and more like I got an expansion. If your looking to buy, either wait for a price drop (30-40$ seems about right to me) or when the inevitable 'Game of the Year' edition comes out with all DLC pick it up. Odds are you'll have 3-4 new strikes and 1-2 more raids. The content will justify a 60$ price tag, it just doesn't justify it right now.

Great game if you really enjoyed the first destiny
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would recommend this game to anyone who has ever played the first destiny, especially those who have beaten the entire destiny collection. It really is more of a continuation than anything just with slightly better graphics and a few other minor changes that you will definitely notice through out playing the game. The only truly bad thing I have to say about the game is that it just feels as though it's so much easier to play through the story missions even alone rather than that of the the first destiny. I just sometimes feel thats a let down but at the same time makes it a lot more enjoyable rather than getting frustrated playing the same missions over and over until you finally beat them. So definitely would give this game a chance especially if your a big destiny fan !

It has potential
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like with the first Destiny it has potential. I enjoyed the campaign and there is plenty to do after you finish it but just like the first Destiny it has a lot of problems. I'm still on the fence with PvP and rewards system definitely needs work. I was not impressed with the first Iron Banner event. My husband and I both agree that Destiny 1 was more challenging than Destiny 2.

Small step forward from the first
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Destiny 2 is what Destiny should have been. It looks gorgeous, while I'm not a huge fan of the always online and online only policy of this game, everything seems to work well enough. Feels very similar to the original. No new classes. Just new worlds to explore and new loot to collect. It's basically more of the same in a shinier package. After a few months of owning the game, the online community seems to have diminished substantially. There doesn't seem to be enough content to hold the community's attention beyond a few months. Which I'm sure is intentional to prepare for the high prices DLC that will inevitably follow.

Good not great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You've probably read this elsewhere but it needs to be repeated: Destiny 2 has a solid single-player campaign, but it truly shines if you have friends to play with. I enjoyed most of the campaign, even if it was a bit too easy at times, but struggled to find decent parties to join up with. And even when I did, I found too much of the game to be repetitive. Maybe it was just my impatience, but when I got stuck at a 265 power level after rather-rapidly gaining in strength, I grew very bored. I hope others have a better experience.

More of the same. Meh.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unless you're willing to buy the expansion pass ($35-$50) and put in many hours of grinding the same levels over and over again to get the best possible gear, I'd recommend giving this a pass. There is no major difference between this game and the previous in the franchise. Sure, there might be minor improvements in gameplay and the graphics are better, but I was expecting much more. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. I won't be giving Activision a third attempt.

Great Campaign but boring end game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think the game is personally worth the money for the campaign alone, but as an avid player after doing everything mutiple times on every character and getting all the gear sets and exotics I wanted, there already became not much to grind. I haven't been a fan of the pvp changes personally either. Once the game receives some QoL changes like the first one did it will be worth it to play again, but in its current state it's not worth investing heavy amounts of time into.

It's OK
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There's a lot Bungie has to fix for me to give this game a higher rating. It's not broken per se, but there are a lot of problems within the game itself. It relies too heavily on teams (IMO) leaving individuals out to dry for a great many of the activities. I love Destiny--I've played it for several years now. This has potential, and I hope and pray Bungie fixes their glaring issues to make this a truly spectacular game.

Destiny lol
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was fun till it wasn't. Story was cool, but after you reach 305 there wasn't much to do. At that time it was about a month or two in and most of us were done with the game. The DLC for Osiris was too long to wait for and then release seemed disappointing. Game would be fun if you could do more stuff with friends, limiting pvp to 4v4 hurts, only fire teams of 3. Still was fun though.

Great to Play with Friends
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a great time playing through the main campaign. It was lots of fun joining up with friends in all the late game raids. But the repetitive nature and the exponentially steep grinding really ruined the post-campaign experience for me. It's worth a buy if you liked the previous Destiny and if you can get it on sale.

Will always be the series that has 'Potential'
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Much like the first game. Game is a grind. But definitly fun if you are playing with your friends. Much like the majority of the sequels this year, its just like the first game. If you are going to buy this game, buy when its on sale. Which is every week from what I've seen.

Ok game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all I like to say that this game isn't the greatest game I ever played. But it is a good game to pick up and play. It have a great story and it's good to play with your friends.this is coming from a person who don't like fsp. Here is one of the main reasons I don't like it. I feel that they give you a broken game because they knowing that the game isn't full but they charge people full price for a little bit of a game. But at the same time the game looks great play great. I feel if they are going to do it like that. The game should be a discount at the start and not an year later

Destiny 1 was much better.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Destiny 2 does not have the replayability compared to Destiny 1. The hype for this game was a lot higher thinking that Bungie would learn from the first one. They did not. First run through of the storyline was amazing, but end game is extremely lacking.
