This game is definitely been updated and feels more complete then the first Destiny game has still up to this day because of the story that its going through and the game feels more competent with the public events and matchmaking in the Crucible feels much better balanced during the time of playing and feels like a good more fleshed out experience

The game is a ton of fun especially if you have friends to play it with. I do get the feeling that I’ll get bored with it after a while but I’m at 20 hours and am still having a good time with it. The gameplay is fantastic and the story is actually sort of there this time around? Still not a great story but definitely entertaining at times!

The gameplay in destiny 2 is great and the story is better than the original. The progression is a lot of fun, I put in 150 hours or so. Unfortunately they undid some of the improvements that happened over the lifecycle of Destiny 1. Also, the endgame is lacking in content. Hopefully this will be improved in the next few months.

Destiny 2 is a great game especially if you have 2 other friends to play with. The campaign is fun and all aspects of multiplayer are really good. My only problem is once you reach the level cap it doesn't really do anything to make you want to play it anymore and gets very repetitive. But it is a very good game despite that.

I had not played the original Destiny when I decided to purchase 2. I had heard really good things about it online so I decided to go ahead and grab it. It looks phenomenal on the PS4 Pro playing on my Sony 4K TV. The campaign story was really solid and the online play is also really fun. It almost seems like multiple games in one because there are so many different game modes, each having it's own purpose and feel. I would highly recommend this game.

Bungie has something special in 2015 when it launched a brand new IP- called Destiny. The original introduced the mainstream to Loot Boxes and in-game currency. The hook was immediate and thus launching the new IP to the far reaches of videogame supremency.
Fast forward 2 years and it feels and play just the same and fixes what was wrong in the original in good and bad ways. First the bad, the shaders system is annoying. I find myself stashing shaders away in my vault to wait for that right piece of armor, that right weapon, that right Spaceship to splash that shader onto. The thing is your shaders are a one time use. It’s so hard to let go of gear you put your legendary shader on, even when it loses the comparison strength battle to a more powerful weapon. Fix it Bungie - FIX IT!
One little issue doesn’t affect the rest. It looks amazing. The gameplay is what you expect from Bungie - single player and multiplayer alike. You will get hooked into the Loot system almost immediately. That’s coming from a gamer who has issues with in-game currency as well.
Bungie has made, yet again, something special.

This game has it's flaws and recently the developers were caught limiting xp progression, but overall it is what the first should have been. The game has an actual story, though not too much of one, and it is also flush with content. The real game is after beating the main story so go forth Guardians.

Fun and addicting, and overall better than the first Destiny. However, a similar grinding wall is hit if you are trying to compete against the elite players, just like the first game. Teenagers and jobless adults have an unfair advantage when it comes to time available for upgrades and practice.

If you’re like me and you were disappointed with the original Destiny because it lacked a proper story, then you’ll be pleased to know that this is definitely a step in the right direction for the franchise. The story is much better this time around and the gameplay is much more refined.

This game provides a well-made story and has a decent multiplayer mode. This game can keep it’s player entertained for about year or so. If you want a game with stunning graphics, an amazing decently-long story, and fun multiplayer game modes, I would recommend this game to you.

I bought this along with my ps4 and let me tell you that it is one of the best games I’ve ever played. I know a lot of you are comparing it to destiny 1, but at least give it a try. Plus there’s still 2 DLC’s coming up so I’m excited for that. Other than that I would reccommend buying the deluxe edition specially this Black Friday as you can save money. Still a great game though!

So, without getting too political, the situation around the publishing of this has gotten a bit rough. The concept of having "lootboxes", or engrams available for extra purchases is definitely a hot topic. For this review, I will note that I am definitely a bit miffed by all of this, but I will not let it sway my view too far.
The game itself is beautiful. Whether you play on the base PS4 or XB1, or you have the advanced capability of the PS4 Pro, or XB1X, this really shines. Performance has been pretty stable since day 1, and has only gotten better. The few glitches that I have encountered have not been game-breaking, and actually were just kind of funny. I would love to run this for PC as well, but I haven't gotten around to it, so I won't delve into 60fps performance, or ding the consoles for not being able to run that way. The point is that while the first Destiny was hampered by having to bridge the old console generation and the new, this gets to take full advantage of the hardware.
Storyline and characters are phenomenal, compared to the first offering in the Destiny Universe. By the time Bungie had added The Taken King expansion, they had dug themselves out of the hole, for the most part. But this time around, things were pretty solid from the beginning. Granted, they have tweaked a few things now that the first expansion is out (a separate purchase, FYI), but it mostly works just fine. Characters have been consistent, believable, and enjoyable, especially considering that this is primarily a first-person-shooter. Mechanics have to be solid, and story comes second, but they've stepped up to the plate this time.
Packaging is okay. The cover art looked nice, at first, but has become somewhat dull. And since the install will require the same storage as the blu-ray holds anyhow (plus patches), you might be better off with a digital copy, if only to free yourself from having to switch discs. That is up to your preference with discs, having the ability to resell the game, how often you use the disc drive, or play other games/media.
Overall, I'm willing to give it 4/5. The mechanics are beautifully handled, the story is great, the graphics look SO much better than Bungie's first Destiny, and the promise is that there is more to come. However, the kickback comes from the shenanigans about certain items being available from purchased engrams, and consumables (like shaders now), being limited, compared to the first game. Between the semi-pay-to-win silliness that Bungie seems to want to continue running, the current attitude toward "lootboxes", and some serious issues that have yet to be completely addressed regarding leveling, item drops, etc., I have to take it down at least one notch. BUT, it's still a great game.

The game as a whole is great. The graphics are nice and clean. The game flows nicely and the storyline is fun.
The reason for the .5 star off is that the game is slightly more complicated than the 1st one. If you've played the 1st game, the 2nd one is a bit different. For a newbie, you may need to watch a couple of videos to play with a bit of a game plan.

Destiny 2 solved a lot of problems from Destiny 1. Although, I still feel like it took away some things such as stuff to grind for. The story is a huge improvement but nothing special really. The gameplay is looks and feels great. Great game overall.

I've had the game for a weeks now and only just scratched the surface. If didn't play Destiny 1 you'll be fine jumping into Destiny 2. Loads of content, solid gameplay and gunplay. There's few tweaks that need to be made to each character class but Bungie is usually pretty good about taking feedback from the community. Overall I really enjoy the game.

Much improved over the original. More to do, a better campaign with a better villain, better writing, better everything.
I played it nearly every day for the first month of release, and only now have I taken a break. Not even because I'm sick of it, just that I don't *want* to get sick of it just yet. For those without friends, it's still great solo! I played through the campaign by myself and had a lot of fun. The campaign is much closer to the quality of Bungie's Halo titles, both length and level design-wise. There's some great moments, my favorite of which was one level where you jump across tall rooftops while fighting enemies.
Highly recommended if you like co-op shooters, the Halo series, enjoyed what there was of Destiny 1 but wanted more, or someone who enjoys loot-focused games like Borderlands and Diablo. Lots of loot in this game!

Glad this game was better than I was hoping. There's a story being told in game, engrams are easier and yes, there is still a grind but not as bad as the first Destiny. If you did not enjoy the first at all, can't say I would recommend this one but if you did and either played til the end or stopped after a while, this would probably be a good buy

As someone who poured over 200 hours into Destiny 1 i can say that almost everything in Destiny 2 improves the experience, the campaign and story is much more detailed and flushed out, gameplay remains topnotch, way more ways to gear up and play, Strikes and Raid are better than initial Destiny offerings. Overall an insanely fun time.

I've been playing Destiny since the release of the first game. A lot of people will say that they hated the first one. I agree that there were a lot of issues with it and the content in each DLC for what we paid but it was still a fun game and I made a lot of friends on it.
Destiny 2 brings an actual story that you can understand without having to read some cards on their website. They've improved a lot of features and the game just feels way more fluid that the first one. But once you complete the story, all you have left is a weekly checklist that can be completed easily. It leaves you with nothing to do for the rest of the week and you get bored fast.
