Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the enjoyable gameplay and improved story and voice acting as significant strengths. Positive feedback also highlights the campaign, content variety, and attractive price point. While some players noted a reduction in grinding compared to the previous version, this was a less frequently discussed aspect. The game's action, weapons, and controls also received praise.

I was a big Destiny player on PS4. When Destiny 2 was announced for PC I waited until release. I played it and it was... not so great. So I shelved it for a long time. I then decided to pick it back up on PS4 since some friends were playing. It's still not quite the original Destiny I remember, after all of the expansion packs and the live team figure out how to fix the game and then the dev team went and pushed in their ideas, but with many updates it's getting there. I would say if you enjoyed the original, with Forsaken coming out tomorrow, it's a good time to get back into the game again. Unfortunately you have to pay for everything all at once, but I feel I've gotten my money's worth out of it already. It's a whole lot better than the game was at release, that's for sure.

Destiney actually has an okay story that fleshes out some characters and gives a little more background to the enemies you fight. It ends up being about the same as destiny 1, which isn't bad, but it doesn't do much different either.

Decent enough start to a new(ish) game. The game carries over the same movement and gun play feel as the first and definitely has more of an inhabited feel. Connection issues have been present but not unexpected for a launch of this size.

I never played the original Destiny. My sons loved the original version so I decided to buy them the sequel and tried it out myself. First off, you need to play this online even if you are doing the solo campaign. Why? I don't know. Makes no sense to me but I am an old school gamer from the Atari 2600 days. I can at least still plug that system in and play all the games. In 10 years, would I be able to play Destiny 2 if the Bungie servers are offline? Is game pirating really that bad that you disenfranchise your would be fans? I understand people may argue this is a MMO shooter like WOW is a MMO. I still don't buy it. Either way, those gripes aside, it is a great game with complicated mechanics. My sons know the majority of gameplays but I just want a gun, a mission and a target. Like the good ole Quake days :)

There’s nothing inherently wrong with the gameplay itself. In fact, Bungie is amazing at shooting mechanics. The feel of it alone is awesome. However, I can’t get behind the predatory DLC plans they have for this game. You buy the game, then one year later you can’t really enjoy it anymore unless you sink more money into it to keep up with new features and updates they add. The game didn’t do well at first launch but has seen a resurgence since the release of Destiny 2 Forsaken. In short, don’t waste your money on the vanilla, base Destiny 2 game. If you’re gonna buy it, buy the Forsaken bundle with everything in it.

This is a fun loot shooter, that's way better then the orignal game. The game just keeps getting better and better with all the dlc that's been released. Highly recommended for fans of the genre.

If you're a fan for first person shooters then you can't go wrong with Destiny 2. It has a large of amount of single player and multiplayer content to keep you busy for hours. Obtaining new armor and weapons is addicting and satisfying

Bungie took what needed with in the original game and improved upon it. They have also included a decent campaign but d2 is more about the post game. With amazing little features added to equiping gear, traveling from location to location without orbit, and identified public events makes the grind much more enjoyable and feasible.

While I certainly don't think D2 is the greatest thing Bungie has put out, it still is enjoyable enough. Just be warned that these days you pretty much need to have the expansion as well to play with most other players.
