The game is all about experience points and leveling up your character. It's also not very easy to find others to play with. It sort of feels like you're in the Destiny universe all alone fighting these monsters. Can get boring and feels very grindy. Would not recommend.

I did not like it but some of my friends are really enjoying it. Personally I found it way to repetitive.

Really enjoy the game. It has excellent graphics and intuitive controls. My only dislike is that some of the story-related missions require PSN so you may end up playing somethings with an incomplete storyline if you don't game often enough to want to pay a monthly fee.

Best Shooter Game (Graphic-wise)

The graphics on this game is amazing and I have to say I love how smooth the game play is and playing online is really smooth compared to other games out nowadays. I give it 4 stars simply cause its just a shooter game....so unfortunately it can get repetitive and turn into a game where you just grind and grind to get certain rewards to only go back into a mission youve probably done a million times to use that weapon you were rewarded with....story line is bad as well but if you can see past that and just enjoy the game its really a fun and at times a challenging game with friends. Already have close to 600 hours of game play. well worth the 95 bucks I paid with expansions - as that is about 16 cents per hour. Looking to also buy the next expansion "take king" which will put me at $135 which only puts me up to about 23 cents an hour without playing anymore.

Destiny: A Glimpse Into The Future

I've been waiting to put up my review of Destiny since I wanted to get some quality time with it, being online centric and all. Got up to about Level 20 and went through every planet, so what did I think?
The game is solid. It's not great, but not that bad either. The plus side to all of this is having Bungie behind the helm. A great developer can make the best out of any bad situation and I feel like that's how Destiny is. A really solid, fluid game with just not a lot of content.
Missions on Planets can get very repetitive, but the looting and content brings an added attraction to running through those. When you're sick of the main storyline you can head online and visit what I consider a next gen Halo-style gameplay.
The game is fun with friends, okay by yourself (matchmaking is smooth as ever, a given from Bungie) but I just don't think there's enough content. Right now.
They plan on doing community style missions and raids during the weekends and obviously there's a ton of content on the way, so on that alone I would definitely consider this game a buy and not just a rental. It gives you an early taste of what a lot of MP centric games will look and play like in the future.
It's not amazing, but it has it's moments. Lots of them. And they're usually with friends which makes it that much more fun.
A solid 4/5

i could very easily see how this game could get 3 or 5 stars. if you like buying a game, working through a few missions and moving on, it's not for you. while true you can do that with destiny, this game BEGINS at level 20 when you finish all the stories. the real progress in destiny is with meeting people and forming social networks to do raids, nightfalls and other high level activity. if you combine WOW, halo, cod, and skyrim/fallout all into a giant ball you would wind up with destiny. while the actual storyline isn't enough for many of the story playing type, the game play is absolutely excellent. if you get this game and are able to work to the point of completing a hard raid you will have experienced way over 100 hours of game play, probably over 300 and met many people along the way. season pass and headset required. without this you miss what's great about the game.

One of the most amazing parts of this game is getting into battles where you have other players from around the world all joining you in your fight against aliens. After just a few days I was already adding total strangers to my PSN friends list after fighting aliens with them in the Destiny on-line world. This is what makes the game addicting and well worth the money. Ignore those who complain about the lack of story. Most first-person shooter games lack a great story. This may not have the great writers of tales like BioShock or Mass Effect but all you need to know is these aliens are bad so shoot them. End of story now have fun in enormous battles across the solar system.

I have played about 10 hrs, have gotten to level 8, and have done all the earth missions I could find (just started on the moon ones), so take this review with a grain of salt.
This game has a little bit of an identity crisis. On one hand, it is a RPG shooter like Borderlands, on another it feels a lot like Halo gameplay, but on another it is an MMO (apparently the game assumes you have three hands... hence the identity crisis). If you want a game like Halo, with RPG elements in an MMO sense, it will be perfect for you.
The good - Visuals are awesome, gameplay feels like Halo (this is a HUGE compliment), and I've never sat around with nothing to do.
The bad - Lots of grinding. The missions change enough to keep me interested, but there have been about 4 different things to do in the missions (kill dudes, scout area, collect items from dead enemies, go to new area and hold your ground). Another gripe is that although the graphics are impressive, they repeat themselves a lot. Sure the new Dregs are blue... but they're basically the same as the red Dregs or Yellow Dregs from before.
It may seem like I have a lot to complain about since my bad is a longer list than my good... but the goods are SO GOOD that they outweigh my gripes.
Final Verdict - I actually can't say. I am willing to give this game the benefit of the doubt and get to max level before I give a final verdict. So far it is solid enough to keep my attention and keep me playing, so 4/5. Might become a 5/5 if the endgame content is awesome.
Side note: Shame on Bungie for not having a more awesome experience in leveling up. I never felt like leveling up was a chore in WoW, Destiny I can't say the same.

You need a lot of DLC to fully annoy now, it's basically like a demo at this point.
