This game is not for everyone. It is quite a grind to get the best items and level them up. If you like grinding then it is quite fun. The story is short and you will be replaying missions multiple times but for me the chance at some good items are worth it.

Destiny will be a great game one day. May 2015, maybe 2016. If you're reading this and the game has been out for a while, buy it! Today, however, the game feels incomplete. There isn't much end-game content, and what IS there get repetitive fast. If you're a solo gamer, or don't intend on getting Playstation + or Xbox Live, pass on this game. You can solo up to level 20, maybe even the low/mid 20s, but not beyond. The story is virtually non-existent. What you get to play through is pieced together and incoherent. All in all, not the best, not the worst. PS+ or XBL is a must, and its not quite as good as other FPS games, or MMOs, I've played. However, I have no doubt this will be a great game... eventually

This is a fun game to play with friends. It is an okay game if you plan not to play with others.

From its amazing visuals to its fantastic controls destiny grabs hold and doesn't let go. No other shooter on the market does what bungie has accomplished. By seamlessly integrating elements of an mmo, fps, rpg, and a loot grab destiny separates itself from an otherwise stagnant genre.

Destiny has been touted as the "next big thing" in games and broke several records for new gaming IP's, and for good reason. Destiny is fun to play. The loot drops and smooth gameplay are essentially the love child of Borderlands and Halo, though not equal to the sum of its parts. The main complaint with Destiny is that after a few days of solid game time, you've experienced its forgettable storyline and are on to grinding for item drops to max out your character level to participate in player-versus-player events and wait for new downloadable content (that you have to pay for) to be released. If you're not interested in level grinding and want a compelling story, wait for a game of the year edition.

What was the story line again? I really have no idea. The story was over so fast that you never got a chance to get involved in it. However, the story is obviously not what DESTINY was built for. It's really geared towards end game PVP and PVE missions. They were smart (in a way) to make you work to get the best gear, but I could see many people getting tired of the endless farming to get the gear needed to participate in the pvp and missions after the story is over. With daily and weekly activities to keep you interested, it seems that DESTINY will have a decent life span. I just wish the co-op system was a little better, more on the lines of Borderlands 2. DESTINY's is kind of clunky, and teaming up with someone on the fly can be tricky. It is easy to jump in to co-op PVP, and PVE "Strike" missions though. The game looks great, plays great, and is enjoyable.

I typically don't like FPS games but this one has enough RPG/MMO similarities to make me give it a try. Love the game so far, the controls and combat are smooth, advancement is interesting and there are cool and customizable weapons and armor regardless of your preferred activity.
