I know the Halo fan club may challenge me and rightly so, I soaked so many hours into Halo 3 and "Reach" so I understand. That said, Bungie have hit the nail on the head again with Destiny and though last years release was rough around the edges, nobody could doubt the quality of the combat. This is instinctive, fluid, action filled combat at its absolute best. The Taken King takes this up a notch and incorporating a more solid story, with some much needed character development, weapons, gear and backs to the wall scrapping, just finally makes Destiny begin to take shape into the type of game that should have perhaps been released in 2014. As a story is this a Fallout/Elder Scrolls beater? No it isn't but in terms of first person combat this is hard to touch.

Bungie is really amazing. They listened to all of the Destiny player's feedback and suggestions and seriously improved every aspect of the game. Even the story is coherent now. If you liked Destiny before but got sick of the grind like many of us, then TTK may be up your alley. They have reinvigorated a game that I thought had so much potential but didn't deliver; now it does and then some. Best FPS game ever without a doubt.

I love this game. It's a combination first person shooter and role playing game. It has elements from Borderlands and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Lots of customization with gear, weapons and special powers. A lot of the game can be played solo, but there are some missions that require 2 or more players. Not a big deal, since the game gathers them for you in necessary. You can also gather your own teams for just about any mission you want. The co-op missions are actually a lot of fun, especially when you have players who know what they are doing. The multiplayer (PvP) option, also known as the Crucible, is also a blast. I should mention that this is an online game. It requires Playstation Plus for some elements of the game, mostly dealing with multiplayer. This is pretty much where games are headed these days, so I would recommend getting a Playstation Plus account anyway. It's reasonably priced, so it's not a deal breaker.

The game has a great story line to follow. I also like the options to free roam and farm materials, play online PvP, as well has do different level strikes that can still be challenging with the higher lvl options.

I encourage new players to get it for this price it is no brainer considering the 3 DLCs, when the crota and POE DLC cost about $35 - $40.
However, for me personally I am on the border line to get the TTK DLC for $40 alone. I have done almost everything in Destiny and have it all except Grimiore for Rumble, kill VIP targets and combined arms.
The new DLC basically will be like POE + Trials DLC but includes new sub-class abilities for each guardian. I wish it was sold for $20 - $30. All my friends are also not purchasing it. I will just wait and see. I might skip this DLC and buy a bundle that includes more for cheap like this one here for new destiny players.
IF money is not an issue buy this but becareful this game can be addictive, I skipped PVP but started it when Trials of Osiris arrived to get the better weapons. Guns in POE are useless. Buy this game wont regret it

Good game, but......

The game play and mechanics are good, and the game is fun, but I'm tired of all the connection issues that arise every single time there is an event, and there are quite a few of them. Right now there is the sparrow racing event that goes on for about a month, and the servers have been junk the entire time. Same goes for the Iron Banner every time it comes around, and it really interferes with the Raids. It's an online game, yet the servers are trash every time there is a big event with a lot of people. This has been going on since the game released. They don't mind taking your money for the expansions and such, but are never as quick with fixing issues.
This problem isn't specific myself either. I've played with many people who all experience the same issue at some point or another. And the player vs player portion of the game can be fairly unbalanced as well.
Also, the people that bought all the expansions, but not The Taken King have been locked out of a decent amount of the content they already bought. And microtransactions have been introduced into the game, and as of now they are mostly cosmetic, but they've added a level boosting item to get a new character to level 25 instantly. Although it isn't really any sort of advantage, but I can definitely see them adding more items to the list later that do actually give players advantages over other players, like armor and weapons. The day they do that I'll be done with the game.

So first of all the dlc is just a code that when you enter it its gone and the disc just has the main game on it, so if you want to give it to a friend they wont have the dlc. The game itself it pretty good and I like the item system as well as the things like the vault of glass, and such that really add to the game and make a really good challenge. The game really is pretty fun but if your playing by yourself its not really all that fun after a while.

A Better Destiny

I participated in the original Destiny beta and bought the game upon release. I pretty quickly got bored though and traded it in. With this Taken King legendary edition, Bungie has taken steps to make the game more compelling and has addressed many user complaints. The shooting mechanics are as tight as ever and the graphics are great. This is a very good game if you like First Person Shooters and have some friends to play with.

A game that was plagued with lack of depth at launch as become a very fun game with some of the best gun play in any FPS game and the story has also become much better with the launch of the taken king expansion. I would recommend this game especially for players who have never owned the game prior to this legendary edition.

I got Destiny when it first came out on Sept. 9, on Xbox One. I have gotten both expansions and the new Taken King. When I got my PS4 bundle on Black Friday, I had to get this game as it was on sale. I can see the PS4 graphics are a little better and I've been playing it non-stop. A must for any Destiny fan.

This was my first real open world game and I loved it! If you purchased Destiny then don't buy this, just download this expansion. If you have not purchased Destiny then buy this and you get both of them for the price of one. Wish I had known that before I got mine. Happy gaming!

As time passes and this game ages it only gets better for new players. New modes, weapons, and missions are being made available each month. However for those who been here since day one, they probably won't want to play with you if you're new. Keep this in mind but its definitely a solid game.

Game can be played without Playstation Plus membership, but it is much more useful if you do have Playstation Plus. In my opinion, game is a gateway to encourage people to purchase Playstation Plus. Other than that, game is solid, fun to play and so far have not come across glitches.
