Customers are saying

Customers highly value Destiny's core gameplay and action-packed entertainment. Positive feedback also highlights the online play and weapon selection, while some players found the controls easy to use. However, criticism focuses on the shortness and lack of engagement in the story, as well as the game's significant hard drive space requirements and some concerns about the initial content.

Destiny... You're a hard one to love

Let me first start by saying that my local Best Buy (Store 1037) gave me FANTASTIC customer service. I was in an out quickly and they even gave me a free shirt because I pre-ordered with them. ▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅ The Quick View ▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅ Parents: This game is SAFE for children 11+, gun violence in the form of shooting enemy aliens and characters being the only explicit content. No Nudity, Suggestive Themes, or Profanity in the game (save for Online Play with other people). Pros: Game Mechanics (when they work) are fun and can provide an enjoyable experience. Cons: Suffers from being repetitive and not enough new content to keep it interesting. Warnings: (1) You'll need to be connected to the internet ALL THE TIME when you play this game. If you don't have wi-fi or an ethernet cable then don't buy this game, it won't work. (2) You'll need Xbox Live Gold to play this game. If you don't have it, the game will only let you play against the computer (half of Destiny's in game items are online accessible only). ▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅ The Details ▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅ Destiny is a First Person Shooter with the mechanics of an MMO. It's rated T for teen, but it has to be for the gun violence only (as the game, I've played so far features no cursing or sexually explicit content). The game itself is split into two portions. Player versus Enemy [PvE] (computer generated) or Player versus Player [PvP] (Xbox Live or PSN). You need Xbox Live gold to play the Player vs Player. Having the ability to experience both is preferred as some of the game's weapons are only accessible through constant PvE and PvP gaming. The mechanics and movement in the game are sharp. Activision having worked on Call of Duty and Bungie with its experience on Halo really show how much they know. The guns feel good, and feel realistic to their performance as compared to a game like Halo. Loadouts and Characters are customizable giving the player a higher level of freedom to customize their character's skill sets, looks, and weapon choices. There are moments where you play that can really bring a smile to your face, and then there are other times when you'll frown. The game suffers severely from repetition. Either PvE or PvP, you'll find yourself playing the same missions over and over again to level up gear you receive. Then you'll receive new gear that is slightly better that has you playing more and more. Throw in that the story is told through cards you find online and this game is only worth really one play through on the campaign side. Destiny does offer DLC to bolster that, but it costs 40 dollars for the Expansion Pass and you're only getting two packs: the first being very light on content, and second hasn't dropped yet. Furthermore, if you don't have Xbox Live you can only really play the campaign and get the equipment from that area of the game (so you're missing out on the other half of the game). If you don't have access to Xbox Live (Gold or Silver) the game is unplayable.

I bought this game for my 20 year old brother's birthday. I was so tempted to play it, I called him to ask if it was okay if I used his gift before he even got to. Thank goodness he said yes, because this is by far one of the best games I've played! The graphics are great and it gives one hell of a thrill.

There are multiple versions of Destiny available. This particular game will only let the gamer level up to 34 out of 40. Also certain levels are not available to venture with this pack. My recommendation is to buy the Taken King. It's not much more but you won't regret it in the end.

Destiny, Halo by any other Name

Love the game, but seems like they are purpose leaving out information with the story background for the players to unlock over time. Not a big fan of having to look up the grimoire cards on an outside site. But the game is fun in story mode and if you're a Halo multiplayer then this game is for you, fast paced multiplayer area action keeps things intense. And the gear you earn in the Crucible (multiplayer arena) and the weekly heroics really make the difference of who's king of the ring and since the gear is ever changing you may not be the standing King for long...

The graphics are amazing in this game, even on the 360. It's a great open world with lots to do, and you can play by yourself or with friends or random people. It's nice to get some people together to tackle the hard missions but the rest of the time you can go solo.

Destiny is an amazing shooting experience, and the super mechanic adds great tactical opportunities. But there's essentially no story, and it's very boring after about 30 hours. Graphics on Xbox 360 are in line with other games on the platform, but they pale in comparison to the next generation platforms. Recommended only if you have lots of friends also playing it on your platform.

Bungie has released their long awaited game Destiny & it is awesone. Destiny is an mmorpgfps a game that defines the future of gaming. DONT listen to the negative nancies they dont know wat gaming is. Destiny does require an internet connection since its online only game it also requires xbox live gold. another thing xbox 360 version of destiny requires is a Hard Drive. It requires a hard drive to install the game which is 5.5gbs once you load the game & takes you to the in game menu for installation. Game is fun & epic so dont play call of duty which is franchise that died in 2009 come & join the greatness of Bungies new game. Destiny awaits

The Destiny game is one of my two sons favorite. My 14 year old and even the 8 year old can play it. It is a bit gory becuase of course you are killing alliens, however there is no foul language, If your kids are into video games this one is a good game.

The game is too short, its a six hour campaign. There is a lot of DLC that is not included with the game but should be.
