Pretty good game.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game has been out for awhile now. I previously had this for my Xbox 360 and I enjoyed it then. I recently purchased it for my Xbox One and its still just as good as the Xbox 360 version. This is a game that you can only play for so long if your playing alone. Now on the other hand if you have a good friend base for doing raids or team death matches you can play this game hours on end without stopping. With the improved gameplay, graphics, profile data transferred over from Xbox 360, and the recent price drop from $40 to $20 bucks this game is pretty much a steal. I recommend trying it out if you haven't.

Good game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I hate to admit how much time I spent on this game. It isn't very heavy on the story end of things, but the gameplay is fun and the social aspect is great.

Warning: May cause ur other games to collect dust
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Since purchasing Destiny 3 months ago, I have put about 400+ hours into it. All the other games I got around the same time are either collecting dust or still sealed. There are so many things you can do in the Destiny game world (e.g. story missions, multiplayer battles, daily/weekly missions, bounties, raids, etc.), it's hard to really "complete" the game. As someone who likes to exhaust every feature in the game and reach max stats, it's a never ending time trap. With the availability of additional expansion packs, I don't foresee this problem to improve anytime soon. So play at your own risk.

Really good grinder
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great controls. No story to speak of really. It doesn't bother me though. It's a grinder though so if that's not your thing you won't like it.

Great game to play with friends online
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this game since launch (almost a week). Destiny is a great game if you are into co-op or mulltiplayer games like Halo. Since this game is from the creators of Halo, Destiny feels a lot like Halo. I just wish the Campaign story was a little bit more intriguing and engaging like the Halo series. Destiny's store leaves a lot of loose ends and the story outcome does not matter on which class of character you originally pick at the beginning. I wish Bungie would have spent more time developing the story more (for re-playability) and diversifying the missions. Most mission are like this: deploy and kill enemies, have your ghost scan something, and then finally protect ghost from enemies. Maybe Destiny 2 will fix this issue. My next issue are with the Bosses. Some of them are way too hard. You will literally dump round after round into them for an hour and they still will not just die. Fighting them becomes repetitive and boring after a while. I wish it took more skill to beat them. Overall I think Destiny is a great start for a new franchise. The multiplayer and game mechanics are some of the best I seen in a game, But I think Bungie and Activision both need on some core elements (like the story campaign) to make this series into a great IP that will tie us gamers into.

Over hyped but still a good game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Destiny was really over hyped to begin with. It feels like a cross between Halo and Borderlands. The story is very thin and the interaction with the main characters leaves more questions to the thin plot then answers. The visual details in the game are stunning and the game play feels fluid. It is a first rate shooter but it can be very repetitive.

fun game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is really fun, and with lots of extras and large worlds. I did find that the story was a bit short, but they left room for expansion packs.

Disputably a great game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Many people can argue about this game whether it's worth buying or not, it is just a matter of preference. I personally can't stop playing this game it is soo fun. You learn more about the game each time you pick up the controller. Your character gets stronger the more you play, YOU the player have to struggle to be the best, if you can't be the best you still have a great time playing with you friends whether it be exploring the map looking for loot cache or attending a public event. You can make or break the game, the more you play the better it is.

Good game, not great, was overhyped.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good game, not great, overhyped and doesn't fulfill on some promises. Story is boring and forgettable. Basically no characters and just a few cutscenes. Shooting, graphics, and controls are spot on. Game is repetitive. Hopefully this is a good starting point for things to come but this is not the game to end all games.

Very fun game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Destiny is a very fun game perfect for kids ages 13 and up. It's an easy game to master the concepts of, and the excitement of leveling up your character and continuing to find better equipment keeps the game interesting. The campaign is very short though, and once you finish you must play a repeat of boss battles with other players online, which can get repetitive and sometimes boring. Do not purchase this game if you don't have xbox live... It would be nearly useless

Good but Gets Repetitive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thoroughly enjoy playing through Destiny story mode. Time flew by as I picked up new weapons and armor, chop down new enemies and experienced some pvp. Then I reached lvl 20. Then I reached lvl 30. Then I reached lvl 32, and then finally I reached lvl 34. Things starting getting repetitive, boring. I suppose you can say once you beat the game, there is nothing else to do but wait for the expansion and give them more of your money as you strive to hit lvl 40.

Good but not to hype
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Destiny is a great game in the aspect that it has great graphics and environments to run around in. how ever it is lacking in story, its super short out of the box, and very repetitive. I had fun for about 2 weeks then lost interest because i don't have a want to play a game that is only main goal is to get gear.

great fps, great co-op, but very repetitive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Destiny. From the creators of halo, here comes their next project. A great game with awesome visuals, fantastic co-op, and the shooting is solid with very good hit detection. The story is so-so, or to the point that nobody cares. The story is more fleshed out through grimoire cards that can be obtained by completing certain objectives like killing X enemies. However, you have to go to the website to view them, which seems a bit silly. There is a level cap at 20, but you can earn extra levels by wearing special armor called light. By constantly swapping armor, you can increase your level, but removing light armor, can reduce your level as well, but not lower than level 20. There are four locations to visit, earth, moon, venus and mars, but the locations are restricted to one big map. You may spawn in a different area, but you will wind up in the same place eventually which is a bit disappointing. Overall, a bit disappointing. Feels short and repetitive, but if you can find a few friends and take on some of the tougher co-op missions, it can actually by very satisfying.

Lives up to the hype with minimal complaints
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is amazing, hours upon hours of gameplay. First of all, please be aware that this game requires internet in order to play! Pretty much every aspect of the game has multiplayer weaved through it. You can co-op with friends or other players to complete missions, in patrol (basically sandbox open world play) you can team with other players to compete public events that randomly occur in the world. There are daily and weekly strike missions that can be completed solo or with a team. Of course there is traditional multiplayer which is well done, all the players regardless of level are leveled out so the game is fair. There is a specific game type that doesn't level players so the matches will be intentionally uneven. All around the game is excellent, there is plenty of replay value there. My only complaint lies with the story, I feel that there were points that were poorly scripted and/or unclear and left unexplained. One might expect the company that brought the world Halo to have paid a little more attention to the storytelling. As I said, this is an excellent game that is well worth it's own weight in replay value alone.

Great shooter, but not a whole lot else
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let's get the good out of the way. Destiny's shooter mechanics stack up with the best of them. The responsiveness of the weapons are fantastic and as you level up, your character feels powerful. In terms of FPS mechanics, Destiny is hard to beat. And for some people, that will be more than enough to keep playing it, and that's fine. But to me, the problem is what surrounds it. The story is frustratingly bare bones. Before the game came out, people understandably had big hopes for the story as this was the follow up game from the maker's of Halo. Unfortunately, that just never came to pass. Recent expansions have shown some strides of putting more effort into the story, but as the base game stands, this is sorely lacking. Another more controversial spot is the loot aspect of the game. To me, the weapons simply aren't varied enough in terms of different abilities to make me lust after getting new weapons. Combine this with a weak story, and it's tough to keep coming back to this game for maybe more than 8-10 hours. Personally, I'd say save your money and wait for the complete edition with The Taken King coming out in September. You'll get all DLC released up to that point, and hopefully better content propelled by a decent story to justify a longer playthrough.

Good Choice for Almost Teenage Gamer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to buy a game for my 11-year-old nephew for his birthday, but was troubled to find a dearth of options for him. On the XBox One, there seems to be a plethora of M-rated games, and a number of "kids" games, but very little in between. With some trepidation, I chose Destiny for my nephew, and a month after giving the game to him, I am happy to report that he is enjoying the game. Be aware that this is primarily a multiplayer game.
