    poor technical service for computer issues

    computer issue. Tech level one didn't know more than I did. Tech level two was disconneted and didn't call back. another tech two was difficult to understand and did not solve the problem. Finally a 4th one did. VERY disatisfied

    I paid for an annual service subscription. First remote experience was good. Second was awful. I got bounced around for 4 hours. When I asked to escalate my problem to a higher level, the tech hung up. Connected again and got another random person. He/she remotely connected to my computer, fumbled around for about an hour, then still having control of my computer, brought up the customer response screen, gave himself/herself an excellent review and left. Didn't come even close to solving my problem. I wasted 4 hours. What a rip off. If you need IT support, hire a real (local) professional.

    Don’t waste your time or money. I spent $43.00 for an hour long session that didn’t fix my issue and with no recommendations for followup action. Worthless!!!!

    Problem not fixed

    Had my surround sound over a month because it was going into protect mode. It was finally ready for pick up conveniently when i was going to pick up a new tv. Said they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Brought it home after 5 minutes went into protect mode. Ended up sending it to United Radio and they had to replace the main pc board because it was defective. Never will buy geek squad protection ever again.

    Geek Squad had TERRIBLE tech support

    I use my Outlook client to manage 10 various email accounts. My main account stopped sending emails. I contacted the Geek Squad. The first rep couldn't help so she/he transferred me to Agent Kannamala. The agent worked on the problem for about 20 minutes calling me twice during that time. I watched him delete my gmail account and then try to reinstall it manually. It was obvious he was having trouble. Then, all of a sudden, he terminates the session. No call. No email. Nothing. Then, I get an email from Best Buy saying "Today I ensured your Outlook fully functional and up-to-date". Now, NONE of the email accounts in my Outlook client work. I tried to get a manager but another rep said that would take hours........I'm going to look for another support service.

    Scheduled Repair/No call, No show

    I had a scheduled appointment today (4/27/24). It got cancelled and I received no notice. I took the day off of work to wait around for this repair. I asked for the labor cost to be taken off my bill because I had to reschedule for May 8th. Don't you think a day of lost wages for me should be compensated with free labor since I have to pay $125-150 for the labor. No notice, No phone call and No email and I was not offered this compensation. Mind you I have to pay almost $600 for the repair with already paying $135 just for the diagnostic. They wouldn't give me anything off of my cost.

    No geek squad repairman in my area

    Purchased a new refrigerator that was delivered 6/25/22 and within a couple weeks the water dispenser quit working. Since I also purchased “geek squad” I contacted them immediately and was told that they did not have a service member in my area and I would have to contact the manufacturer instead. They literally left me with no other option. This was pretty disappointing considering I live in a relatively large city and was never informed this was even a possibility when I paid for “geek squad.” I am left wondering what is the point of this extended warranty service that I paid for if there is indeed no option for tech support, and why I was not informed of this when I purchased it.

    The geek squad is a horrible place to take your laptop for repair. I took my brand new HP 360 envy touchscreen laptop to them to replace a cracked screen. They told me it would cost six to $900 to replace the screen and that it’s not worth fixing I should buy a new laptop, then decided to take it to You break I fix and they fixed my laptop for $300. It’s a shame we spent so much money at Best Buy in geek squad who they say is the best for computer tech-support. My experience is there have been horrible. Take your equipment somewhere else …..

    Horrible. Had a problem with my printer that wouldn’t load or connect with WiFi. Called and talked to Shaina Rose. She kept asking for info on my computer. Told her it wasn’t my computer but my printer and that my computer couldn’t find my printer. She wanted to access my computer to check. Finally gave her access and she didn’t do anything. Said she would call back in an hour. Never heard from her. Called again and talked to Giovani to confirm she wasn’t scamming me. He verified her but I’m not convinced. Not worth the yearly payment would give 0 rating if I could.

    BUYER BEWARE AND STAY AWAY

    Absolutely horrible. Stay as far away as you can. First time I bought a computer and a $500 warranty to cover it (Thank God). My computer went to warranty 2 times in a month and after spending $1400 with a consultant to set it up, they completely WIPED the system when I got it back the second time....to fix a camera issue. when I discussed with the MANAGER....it was basically a cold-hearted "did you get your computer back fixed?"....when I say "yes", they said "then we did our job". "We warned you that you needed to back up the system". NO REMORSE AND NO COMPASSION.....JUST TOUGH LUCK LADY. WE DID OUR JOB AND YOU HAVE NO COMPLAINT. NEVER NEVER NEVER WILL I PURCHASE ANOTHER THING FROM BEST BUY IN MY LIFE.

    Don't use this service!! When I took my old computer in to have the files transferred to a new computer that I bought there, I could open all my files on my old computer no problem. When I was called to say the the work was complete and ready for pick up, the majority of all my word files were gone. Yup - GONE!!! never to be accessed again, not on the old computer, nor the new computer. I had important files on there that are now lost. I will never shop at Best Buy ever again, nor will I ever recommend them or Geek Squad to anyone.

    Confused and Irritated

    I brought my laptop in a month ago to have it re-imaged. The Geek Squad rep told me I needed to take the computer back home, schedule an appointment on the website and then bring it back in. I have now attempted to do it, but I cannot find the place on the website to schedule an appointment. I can see all the pricing, but no way to schedule an appointment. I'm sure it's there somewhere, but I've been looking for 10 minutes and now I'm irritated. I even tried talking to a chatbot, but that was futile. It wanted my personal information. Why do they need my personal information when I'm simply trying to get an answer to a question.

    It's impossible it seems to talk to someone at this local Best Buy. If I wanted to speak to someone in Columbia that does NOT speak English, I would call Columbia myself. Not matter how many times I call I get routed through a CS person in Columbia. your Customer Service Sucks Best Buy. And no I don't care to drive to the store to ask a ? And the NON English speaking Maria person in Columbia has NO Clue. When I can't access the internet, DON'T ask me to go to your website. What don't you get about the fact that I CANNOT access the internet. You guys suck. I won't be back to buy from from Best Buy.

    Flat out lied to me

    Charged my card for a renewal and I called that day saying no I didn't want the renewal. I was told it would be credited back to my account...it wasn't. I was charged a late fee. Called again and was told they would cancel. Nope....Called again and was told the first guy didn't finish the process and it would be canceled and theyd put a request for refund of late fee. What they did was a partial refund which left me owing money and i still had a late fee. Niw im disputing the charge because I called again and this guy said it was processing and i had to be patient... He said refund was because they charged me again. That was a lie. Theresno other charge and why would you charge twice for an annual fee???

    DO NOT BUY MONTHLY PLANS - After selling the item i had covered monthly, i called Best Buy (with the new owner of the phone) to cancel my payments. They then proceeded to charge me for months after. Once I brought it to their attention, they straight up refused to refund/credit the amount that was illegally taken. Not only this, but in the time i was waiting for a response (after notifying them of their mistake originally) they even charged me again. Nothing more true than the "thats how they get you" statement ringing true here !

    "Mounting the TV on a standard frame wall and concealing video cables". To clarify, this does not mean that cords will be concealed. The $249.99 is for mounting the TV only. I knew that I could incur additional to conceal the wires but that was not an option with this service.

    Doesn't know how to replace a laptop fan

    Took my gaming laptop in to have a fan replaced. I got a fan off amazon to bring in for them to replace with the one I was having problems with, and was first told that it might not be possible because of could be soldered in but they would take a look at it. Three days later, I get a call that the fan I brought in was not the CPU but the GPU. I decided to open up the laptop to take a look at it before returning the fan and it looked like a fit to me. Took it into another computer service shop and they were able to replace it with no problems.

    Management refused to even look at my pc when all it needs is a bios update claiming it was too custom even though it's all a standard atx except the case which is a larger with more space to work in than a mid tower, again all i needed was a bios update, they would not have even needed to mess around inside the case

    Very disappointed....Called Best Buy to hopefully get data recovered from a portable USB drive. I was told "No problem we can recover the data" I went into the store in Metairie only to be told that "data recovering on a portable USB port is hard. It's $50 to send off with no guarantee that data will be recovered" Was also told the last person the had a USB port sent into the repairs area was charged $1,300. This is Absolutely Ridiculous!!!! Not Thanks!!! Waste of my time!!!
