Crappy service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Jess, our “agent” acted like it was a big imposition to show us the transfer from our old computer to the new one. She reluctantly opened the box and turned it on. When we asked about things transferring she said , “like what?” We said some of the important tax applications and she said no none of the apps would transfer and we would have to download them ourselves. When we asked about log ins and passwords she said she didn’t know. I’m wondering what, if anything was transferred. Not helpful or even polite. What a waste!

Thanks for the excuses
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Conner and Dave left me with leaky valves! They blamed my plumbing but weird how in seven years it's never leaked they said it's because we turned the main on and off but we just had a bathroom remodel and the water was shut off and turned back on many times and still never a leak ! Idk what happened or why but they gave no resolution. Also thanks for telling me to move a washtower by myself to fix a hose you knocked loose!

Incompetent Tech Support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My MAC desktop began running super slowly so I connected to GeekSquad for a tune-up. Afterwards it ran a little better but I realized that all of my iCloud files had been deleted. Then the desktop really bogged down and realized that 96% of the memory was being consumed by WSDaemon. I googled that name. It was Webroot! I reluctantly went back to GeekSquad and luckily got an agent that realized what was happening and he got the situation addressed. But, I lost my iCloud files and had weeks of frustration to the point I avoided using my desktop. NOT GOOD.

Poor customer service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just purchased thousands in appliances for a remodel. I decided today to add built in eather net ports. I called geek squad 4 times. On two occasions I actually got to a human. First words they say are "can I have your number incase we get disconnected?" Well I did (TWICE). Been hours and nobody has called me back and I have since hire another company. This type of poor customer service has lost my business and by the reviews, I'm not the only one. Please fix this problem and keep your customers happy.

Not worth the cost
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cost always increasing and fewer and fewer services are provided. Only helpful if you live near a Best Buy store and many stores are closing. No longer covers virus protection unless purchased for extra. For Apple products, you need to have lurched AppleCare.

Completely Incompetent
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Horrible. I just wanted a simple data integration as recommended by store tech. People didn't listen or comprehend, didn't finish the work, didn't care at all. Now my brand new computer is completely broken and I have to have mobile tech out to fix it. Nearly every person I spoke with was incompetent and didn't care. I will never use Geek Squad REMOTE ever again. Store service is ok and hopefully mobile will be. I would like my money back and a new computer. DON'T EVER USE GEEK SQUAD REMOTE

Refused service for no reason
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed help to install a new SIM card in my phone. Couldn't do this myself due to a disability. Geek Squad gave me a run around, asking all kinds of questions while not replying to my request to come in the next day. I have ended tup going to ubreakifix on the same day, and it was done literally in a split second. Shame on the Geek Squad. Will never go there again and don't recommend.

Go elsewhere
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Schedule an appointment for 12:40. There are 3 people in line in front of me none with an appointment scheduled. The geek squad members are taking first come first serve. I proceed to wait until 1:30 before one of the staff even acknowledges that I am there. Absolute horrible and rude customer service as well.

Do NOT think they can help you.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Printer message was "Printer is offline". 4 phone calls and 5.5 hours later, I still have the same problem. Was told it was the document that I was trying to print. After nearly 6 hours, I screen shotted the document and it still won't print. One agent said she'd call back in 10 minutes and never did.

major appliance stick with manufactures warranty
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Washing machine that was purchased in June stopped working in December had geek squad come and work on it several times - they kept replacing the computer board - said they replaced a belt and another item but did not. I out of frustration called GE service and 2 visits later my machine works. I tried to go thru geek squad about the manufactures warranty and was told it was not valid because of having geek squad and they kept sending out the same tech who just kept changing control board

Washer over a month to be repaired with warranty
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a washer 4 months ago spent hundreds on it then purchased the warranty for a couple hundred more. It has already stopped spinning and draining. I had to wait over 2 weeks for a appointment for the warranty with geek squad for the tech to be there for 10 mins to tell me had to order a part and it will be another two weeks until he can come back! I’m a family of 8 and need a washer. This is unacceptable

Nightmare
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dealing with Geek Squad/ Best Buy over the phone is guaranteed to add years to your life for all the incompetence, stupidity, hang-ups, etc., you have to deal with. My computer has never been the same since I had the remote worker try to fix something . Trying to get a refund on Webroot never activated is another nightmare. Stay away.

They're not always right, get a second opinion
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I made an appointment because the top row of the keyboard on my Mac laptop was not working. The geek squad employee said that there was no way to fix it and that I would have to buy a new laptop. They did no run any kind of diagnostic test on the computer or anything, just looked at it and said that I could send it to get repaired but I would probably come out to be the same as or more than the cost of a new Mac laptop. Then, I went to Apple Genius bar just to see if they could do anything, they ran a diagnostic test and were able to fix the problem by factor resting my laptop system. In 15 minutes they saved me $1,500 dollars (the cost of a new laptop, which the Geek Squad said I needed)

Don't Do What They Advertise
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My second time to go to Geek Squad on Park Lane in Dallas. First with my phone, today with my TV. Both times "oh, we don't do that..." was the answer, even thought Best Buy website said they do. Apparently, all they do is sit there and play video games. I'll never go back.

Not helpful
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As an older person, I had some concerns about storage and transferring photos to an external hard drive. This ended up being a simple task that I figured out at home with a friend after the Geek Squad told me it was too complicated to explain, and that I needed to bring in my external hard drive and my computer to be helped. This information was untrue and unnecessary. I will not seek their advice again. Luckily, I have friends and YouTube, neither of which judge me.
