Does what it is supposed to

This is not the first Directv remote I have setup. I had to call Directv customer support due to some confusing screen messages that appeared during setup. Directv customer support said "just ignore those messages and program like usual. If I am supposed to ignore them, why are the messages even there? That said, setup worked as usual - as long as I ignored the messages.
