Awesome Drone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first drone and I highly recommend it. It is super easy to fly and control and takes amazing photos and videos. You will not be disappointed with this drone. It is packed with many features and flying modes. If you are on the fence like I was about getting a drone, this will definitely get you on the drone bandwagon.

What a great tool for photography
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the Spark for awhile but found it limited in what it can do. The battery life was the big hurdle for me. I purchased the Air Fly More Combo when it was on sale. It is everything I'd hope the Spark would be...and more. The drone flies so easily. It takes great photos. Easy to operate. The DJI App takes care of almost everything. No complaints at all. Would recommend this to anyone looking to get into drone videography/photograph.

Most of the time it's flawless
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first drone, so I'm certainly no expert but so far it's been a blast to fly and the video quality is stunning. Both 4k and 1080p/120p look fantastic. My only complaint is that it's freaked out (for lack of a better term) twice on me where it either wouldn't want to land or it tried to land in a lake. Not great, but it recovered and I was able to land safely both times.

Basically it's the DJI Spark 2.0
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Mavic Air is basically the DJI Spark 2.0. I was extremely happy with my Spark but the upgrade to 4k is what made me go after the Mavic Air, not to mention the backwards obstacle avoidance. It's a very cool and feature rich little drone. The obstacle avoidance is incredible. the only thing that would make this better is side avoidance sensors and the ability to us APAS while in smart/programmed modes. Before you buy make sure you know what you'll be using it for. If it's a few times a week get the Mavic Air, if it's less than that and just for vacation or something, save money and get the Spark.

DO NOT BUY - DJI is Bricking its Drones!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just got off the phone with DJI and I couldn't believe what I was hearing. A few months ago, I ignored the other reviews on the Mavic Air where people has issues with the drone crashing, DJI not standing behind their product, and warranty issues not being honored, and I STILL bought the Mavic Air. Loved it for the first 2 months but then something odd happened. After the firmware update, when I was flying it on a regular flight path I have been doing for months, I experienced signal interference (I was only 1500 ft from it) on my phone. I immediately raised it higher in the air (I was already at 165', well above the tree line) to see if it would be a better signal. As I started running toward it, the video feed went out. I figured it was just hovering there where it last received signal, however when I arrived I found it in pieces on the ground. On the flight playback, it showed the drone at the spot it lost signal and it just went straight down. DJI said that when it loses signal, its supposed to hover, UNTIL the battery runs down, then Return To Home. It did none of these. SO I went out and bought a second to verify the drone couldn't have hit any obstacle that would have caused it to drop straight down. Sure enough it was all good for a flight path. No obstacles. However, I also upgraded the second drone to the new firmware, and sure enough, at the same point as the first drone, the second also gave me notification that there is signal interference. Fortunately I was able to recover it before it had a chance to crash. Before the firmware update, I regularly flew twice the distance and without so much as a hiccup. So, back to my conversation with DJI. They said that even though the drone didn't do what it was supposed to do, they wouldn't replace it. I asked why the range is so severely limited (and why they don't use radio frequency vs wifi even though they know its a better transmission but he wouldn't respond to that) and he said that if I calibrate the compass, it should give me better range. I haven't tried that, but just knowing that they know its an issue, not doing anything about it or alerting customers, and with the latest firmware, it essentially is making every drone out there vulnerable to crashing, and not letting people know that they can avoid losing their $1000 investment, is the most immoral and unethical standard of practice. Basically, they want you to spend another $1000 for a new drone, and another $1000, and another $1000, and another $1000 UNTIL you realize that they can't be trusted. This company would not stand behind their product and admitted to me that they know its and issue and aren't telling people about it. One other issue I realized is that when the battery gets low, it enables a "Return To Home" function where its programmed to fly straight UP to an altitude to about 100 feet and fly back to a home spot. Note: there are no obstacle avoidance sensors on the top to protect the flight path up. And, there is not a manual override with the Joysticks to prevent this from happening. So I was flying back to the spot I was at and was only 10 yds away from it when this mode kicked in. Unfortunately, I was flying under a tree. As you might imagine my state of shock when it suddenly flew up into the branches of the tree, and I was powerless to control it manually with the joysticks. Honestly I would like to meet the "brains" who programmed that function - they probably go a raise from the company because of all the additional business it brought to DJI with people having to replace their broken drones. Needless to say, DJI, a Chinese company, DOES NOT care about their customers. THEY WANT YOUR MONEY. Do not trust them to make a quality product that is meant to last. As in my case with 2 drones, they both have been bricked to malfunction and DJI will blame you when it crashes. I will be returning both. DJI IS NOT A COMPANY I CAN TRUST ANYMORE!

Posted .Hi PT33. We're really sorry to hear of your accident and frustrating experience. I'd like to take this opportunity to clarify a few things for other users that may be reading this.
1) We use WiFi because it has a bandwidth large enough to transmit HD video with low latency, necessary for the use of our drones.
2) You can adjust the RTH manually to ensure it doesn't go higher than you'd like. You can even disable it. When RTH is triggered via low-battery, stick inputs will be able to adjust the height of the aircraft if you are within control range.
3) Compass calibrations should be done by every pilot at some point in time and the compass has nothing to do with the range of the aircraft.
4) If the aircraft is within 65ft of the home point it is programmed not to ascend by default and within 10ft it is programmed to simply land where it is.
5) For most people, VLOS is around 500ft - 1000ft. It's very important to always have your aircraft in visual line of sight for safety reasons.
6) Firmware updates are always designed only to improve the stability of the aircraft as well is improve user experiences and add new functions.
7) DJI cares greatly for its customers and we ensure as much as possible that if the drone of DJI GO 4 App is responsible for an accident it is replaced with a new or equally functional aircraft. Safety is one of our top priorities and solving any issue that affects the safety of the aircraft is always our top priority, though it happens very rarely.
If an accident occurs, it's important to work with our customer support staff and ensure flight logs are sent over for evaluation.

Extremely impressed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've always dabbled in cheep drones nothing more than a hundred bucks. I got this for fun with a few buddies and it blew me away. I took it to the lake on an extremely windy day, I don't recommend it but I was shocked how well it handled high wind. It took me a few flights to understand all the settings and I'm glad I got the Fly More accessories. The remote works very well. All around a great purchase! I would start in an open space obviously and turn ON all the safety settings. The think will literally fly it's self and not let you hit anything by accident.

Awesome Drone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.DJI has a solid 5 star drone if you use the Apple iPhone apps. Be advised, the app designed for Android phone and tabs, even the 3rd party by Litchi, drops its rating to a 3 or less, depending on WHEN it crashes, or if it responds at all. I recommend the drone without reservation, just know Android support is spotty at best, giving you a $1500 paperweight when it stops working.

Remote Control Design Flaw
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very excited to purchase the Mavic Air Fly More Combo. I carefully unboxed the product, read the instructions, and began charging the batteries. I was impressed with the quality of the product until I discovered that the remote was not charging. I unplugged the cable and plugged it back in with no success. I checked and double checked to make sure that the cable was facing the proper direction. Everything was as it should be, but it would not charge. The port has an awkwardly shaped rectangular crevice that accommodates the proprietary smart phone cables nicely, but leaves too much room for the v-shaped micro USB charging cable. If it were USB-C there probably wouldn't be an issue. Without having a chance to fly the Mavic Air, I returned it. The store didn't have a replacement in the same color. I am debating whether or not I will purchase another one. If I do, I will leave the smart phone cable plugged into in the charging port and use adaptors to make that cable work for charging. The proprietary smart phone cables fill the entire rectangle space in the charging port unlike the micro USB v-shaped connector. That way the cable will never be unplugged from the remote. It should prologue the life of the port and keep the dust out. As of 4/14/18 DJI doesn't offer Mavic Air remote controls.

Great drone, flaws
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, i had 2 options 1 DJI Air and second Mavic Pro. But i decided to go with the air since its the latest drone from DJI. I wanted the Asteroid shot, looked cool. I bought the fly more combo, loved how the drone is so small easy to just carry around. Enough said, bought the drone, brought it home charged all 3 batteries. Excited to fly, performed all the updates requirement, confirmed everything was updated. Took it to an open field, tried to fly it as far as possible, it kept losing signal between 20-30 meters. figured it was a setting. checked everything, seemed ok. Tried again, still maximum flight was between 20-30 meters. and it was never returned home when it lost signal. I had to wait until the battery on the drone ran out, then it was landed at where it was. never returned to home. Had it for about 2 weeks. Returned it back to bestbuy. :(

Battries too expensive
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its an amazing drone I have been using it for couple of years. 3 start because the extra battries cost as much as the drone does. DJI wants you to buy new drones every year :(

Couldn't even get it off the ground
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this drone 2 days ago, won't sync with the remote it came with. Could just be luck of the draw but I spent about 6 hours trying to set it up and an hour with DJI customer service. When connected to my computer drone wasn't even recognized. For an $800 drone out of the box thats pretty bad. Returning this and getting a different brand

I told it to return home, it went to see the world
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The drone is fun to fly but unfortunately the built in functions are not reliable. While filming along a coastal area I told the drone to return home when it began to become difficult to see. Instead of returning it zoomed up 1200 feet into the air and took a vector to a location I had not visited. I never saw it again. Before this I had never had problems with the return home function, I guess it wanted to wait until for right moment to make a break for it.
