Flies well, but controller will not charge.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The unit flew well and functioned as expected. However, this product does not include a charger. This product had to be returned due to the controller not charging. DJI customer has been reasonable..

Best Buy RETURN POLICY Sucks - 15% restocking fee!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The DJI MINI drone is great if your okay that it doesn't have collision avoidance which could be an issue when setting auto return to home. It lifts up & flies really well, great pics, stable etc. 2 stars is because the BB return policy, even when purchasing another more expensive item and as an 'elite member' is ridiculous. 15%?! They are making bank on our returning the items! This is the first time we've spend money at Best Buy in years. Why would anyone want to buy there with restocking fee's when other stores don't charge restocking fees? With this return policy we are done. No more Best Buy for us.

Unable to use
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchase this product because it said it was a great drone for a reasonable price well they forget to put in the description you have to have a special tablet or phone to be able to use it and with my current phone and tablet I'm unable to download the app so it kind of defeats the purpose of a reasonably priced drone when you have to spend the extra cash on a new device to be able to fly it very disappointed

Trouble with Mavic mini
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great camera and fun to fly but twice now my Mavic mini has quit working after it has updated without ever being wrecked. Now geek squad is booked for the next two weeks when my job started in weeks using the drone.

Disappointed, but dont hate it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its not a bad drone. But the specs and details in the product description is a bit hyped up and is borderline false advertisement, if not blatantly so. For reference, this was a Christmas gift, so its barely been used three days as I write this. Takes 4 hours to charge and 20 minutes to enjoy, so you do the math on how much flying Ive done and how many problems Ive seen so far. Some of the specs I will be discussing come from the source - the company that produces the mavic mini - and not strictly from best buy. Best Buy is supposed to echo them, not oversell, contradict, etc. First things first, we do not get but a tiny fraction of the range that is advertised. Just a few hundred feet out and we lose remote control signal. The specs say it should get a hell of a lot more. And "testimonials" claim as much as a few miles. But we couldnt even go into the neighboring cul de sac without losing transmission. Secondly, there is no users manual in the package. You have to go online to find one. Rather inconvenient. Especially since in the field, you will likely be reading the manual from the very phone youre using to pilot the drone with. Third, the remote control wasnt built with a respect for a variety of mobile devices in mind. Some phones wont fit into the spacing meant for mounting phones... and you need to take the cell phone cover off or else it wont fit at all. If you can get it to fit, it wont be snug or stable. It sits there rather awkwardly. The Return to Home feature doesnt always work. And when it does, the drone doesnt always auto land itself. Sometimes it will even refuse to land whatsoever, even manually, after the RTH button is pressed. GPS is always inaccurate. It NEVER comes back to the place you launched from - its always at least a couple of feet off target. So far Ive seen as much as 15 feet off and the blades nearly grazed a building on descent. It would have if it wasnt for my manually piloting it out of the way. The Automatic launch button is intermittently present. Dont know why. We wanted to use it but only saw it available to us once. We cant get more than a few seconds of video to record at a time before it stops recording. Dont know why. We theorize it might be the SD cards write speed, but we cant find any specs on this. We cant get the remote to work with an Android whatsoever. We have one iphone and three androids in the house. This is an iPhone-strict product, despite the fact that the app can be found in the android app store. If you plan on buying this to use with an android youre going to be in a world of hurt. We were able to get some (limited) functionality out of one of our androids, but there was no camera link so we were flying blind. The gimble controls on the camera locked up once. Dont know why. You wont get 30 minutes of flight out of this. 22 minutes is pretty typical. I bet you expected that, and so did I. But bare in mind that the battery is still pretty new. Imagine when its worn out. Also bare in mind that the 30 minute promise is a 50% over-promise of what it actually gives. The 20 minutes is 66% of the promised 30. I dont know about you but to me, those kinds of deviations in liberal "estimates" in quoted specs are unjustifiable. And at $60 a pop for a new battery, I'm not sure how worth-it it is. As previously stated, a single battery takes 4-5 hours to charge, and all for 20 minutes if youre lucky. Oh, and dont land with less than 17% remaining on the battery, because it WILL NOT launch again, whatsoever, not even for a second. You think you have 8 minutes of flight time remaining - and you would have had, had you not landed - but now because you landed you just have to swallow the wasted time. One would expect drones were meant for flying outside. Yet the color scheme and brightness of the app make it very difficult to discern any screen details outdoors. And if youre in a sunny area wearing polarized sunglasses, you can forget about flying altogether. Something to keep in mind. If youre color blind in any way, the screen is difficult to read - color scheme was not designed for people with this disability. Value for your dollar? Yes, I think so. But it has problems that need to be dealt with.

SURPRISES & UNKNOWNS, Beware
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PROS - - The drone price point is great - Fly More pak it's worth the price. - Great features and the technology is cutting edge CONS - - No tablet will work for a display. - DJI advertises only Android 6 or higher is needed FALSE. It needs to be a very specific 64 Bit chip set. - DJI Fly App is NOT avail on the App Store, maybe you can find it on their site. Only small phones may work with the controller - Repairs are HIGH. I crashed it (3 ft drop) and the camera frame cracked. $200 to repair. Go to an Authorized repair facility and it's double. - This is NOT a beginners drone unless you mean price.

Broke it the first day but my fault
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was trying to fly this out the window of my second story window. The blow back from the props made it hit the top of my window and it crashed to onto the driveway below. Broke one of the arms. Won't do that again. I wish the range was a bit better. Loosing contact is scary. Overall a good value. Also DJI will fix it if you break it (for a fee over course).

Loss Of Signal, Loss Of Drone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although I Love the drone when it stays connected...it has a habit of losing signal for no apparent reason and falling from the sky. There is no rhyme or reason to when this will happen. Super frustrating.
