Fly faster, longer and quieter with this DJI Mavic Mini drone. The high-capacity battery lets you enjoy plenty of flight time on a single charge. The downward-vision-sensing feature and GPS allow for precise hovering and great stability.
Fly Responsibly:
Before takeoff, update all software and firmware, and read the instructions thoroughly.
See the FAA website for registration requirements and information about flying a drone safely: https://www.faa.gov/uas/getting_started/. Additional state or local requirements may apply. Check your local jurisdiction. The following websites may help you make informed decisions about flying your drone: www.knowbeforeyoufly.org and www.modelaircraft.org.
Q: How does the DJI Mavic Mini compare to the DJI Spark?
A: The Spark shoots in a maximum of 1080p, along with a 2-axis gimbal. It has obstacle avoidance in the front, and the Mavic Mini is a replacement. The Mavic Mini has enhanced wifi, like the spark. However, it is better, and has evolved to fix problems that happened with the spark. The Mavic Mini has a 3-axis gimbal, can shoot videos in 2.7k, and shoot photos in 12MP. The only downside to the Mavic Mini is that it has no obstacle avoidance in the front. I recommend getting the fly more package, with a roll cage, if it is your first time with a drone, or if you want to protect/get maximum protection out of your investment.
Q: What is the distance it will fly?
A: It is advertised for 3km but this will be possible only in a very open/perfect flying condition. I only got 200 meters (~200 yards) distance myself when flying behind my house, over trees. It's using Wi-Fi to communicate between the Drone and the Controller, so anything between the drone and the controller will interfere with the transmission.
Q: What is the flight time for battery?
A: The advertised flight time for the Mavic Mini is 30 minutes. Realistically, not in “perfect” conditions, around 25-27 minutes.
Q: Does ti have an auto return?
A: It does have a auto return home feature. After taking off update the home point and if the signal is lost you can have it return home.
A: seen one fly 3.4 miles and barely made it back 26 min flight
Q: How many minutes in flight does it have
A: I have been getting 25 minutes or more off a full charge in warmer weather.
A: Both from DJI Website. Can buy separately. Prop Guard (Roll Cage): $19.00, Charging Base: $39.00. (The "Fly More" Comes with the prop guard)
Q: Does this drone follow you?
A: The drone does not have active tracking and will not follow you if you are moving like running down a field. You will have to get the Mavic Air for that feature.
