Fun, portable, and it takes good pictures
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This mini drone skates the registration requirements (under the FAA hobbyist rules), as it is under the 250 gram threshold for the US, and Canada. Easily stashed in a small camera bag, it takes very little initiation to get it into the air quickly, and stays stable under 18 mph winds. Keep in mind that winds can make a drone get carried off if gusts affect this smaller unit. Has almost half an hour rated flying time, the controls/ three axis gimbal camera are smooth, and it can move along up to 29 mph. It takes good pictures and videos, but not at the same time, lacking the ability to snap pics while recording video. It will, however, switch back and forth to either easily enough while flying. Also, no "Follow me mode", but it has other preloaded features that accentuate the terrain an enthusiast would like to surround him/herself with. Spare batteries are tough to find, as they are in high demand right now, and they take about 80 minutes to recharge. Aftermarket chargers (buy a fast charger) are available, but a battery can charge without removing it from the drone. The pictures are from a small lens obviously, but not too much fisheye effect shows. I have watched dozens of Youtube videos, and it has an amazing range of over a mile in most conditions. Keep it within visual line of sight, though! The transmission back to the phone/controller to see what the drone sees is smooth, with no lag to speak of, and not glitchy. I have seen others who test the limits, and for them, at extreme ranges, will cut out, which automatically triggers the return to home process. I avoid flying near restricted airspaces, such as around airports, and have seen videos where guys try to infiltrate them with this, but DJI adds a feature that only allows for entering those airspaces when it has gotten appropriate authorization(s). So, geofencing is another great feature to minimize any hazards flying drones can become to manned aircraft. A lot of features that are included in this tiny package!! This is an easy to fly drone, and great for those who like to travel.

Love this little thing!

The picture and video quality are great and It's easy to use. I bought this for real estate photography and it's already paid for itself. It's small enough to fly indoors yet strong enough to fly across 40+ acres of land. It also held up well on a windy day.

The point-and-shoot of drones
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Mavic Mini is an incredible drone and a good aerial camera. I’ve owned pretty much every DJI drone prior (Phantom 4, Mavic Pro, Spark, Tello, Mavic Air, Mavic 2 Pro) and I find the Mavic Mini to be one of the most fun to fly. It might not be as capable as the Mavic 2 or as large as the Phantom but it’s zippy and can even manage in some 5-10mph winds. Flight time is awesome though I would definitely recommend the Fly More Combo — charging the batteries in the drone via micro USB is slow and gets old fast. As for camera quality the Mini isn’t quite as good as the Mavic Air. Hardware-wise it’s basically the same camera but the limitations of the new beginner-oriented DJI Fly App as well as the 2.7k max resolution makes it hard to ever use this drone for anything more than posting stuff for people to view on a tiny smartphone screen. Once the footage is blown up on a computer or TV it really starts to fall apart fast. Overall I think DJI has created probably the best beginner drone available, though those with more professional aspirations would be better saving up for the Mavic Air (or upcoming Mavic Air 2).

perfect! This is mighty toy
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This drone pack a punch, it’s super back to basic for experienced pilots. I won’t be taking this up in high wind. Base kit is more than enough for a toss in bag. I got three decent flights to get the shot I was going for on one battery. Thanks dji for a quality product and price point. Fun.

Dji mini is worth every penny
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just got my Dji mini. I purchased the fly more ( highly recommended) and it's so nice. We bought some generic cheap drone first and it was crap so we returned it and bought this and there is no comparison! I was scared I would crash the mini but it basically flies itself. Go on the app and make sure you are not in an airport fly zone and if not you are good to go. If you don't want to spend a fortune and want a fun little drone that takes great pictures with decent range then you can't go wrong! Lol not sponsored!

Great for beginners, possibly limited for advanced
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price tag, this drone is a great piece of tech for beginner/someone getting into aerial photography, but there are limitations on what this drone can provide. It is as stable as a Mavic/Phantom (in lower wind conditions), the battery is great (given the size/weight) and while not sporting a 4k resolution, 2.7K is plenty enough for YouTubers. It flies fast and didn't have any problems connecting to it with DJI Fly and a Galaxy S10+. My personal/main gripe about it is the very poor signal between controller and drone. If you're planning to fly it in completely open areas, or keep the drone within 100 meters, well, this will not concern you and you will love it. If however you are trying to fly in a "congested" area (over the woods for example), keep in mind that your drone and controller are communicating via Wi-Fi and anything in between the drone and the controller will interfere with the signal. I lost connection at only 200 meters away and had to use the "Return Home" feature. I was not even trying to push the drone for a distance test, just flew it the same way I usually fly my Mavic Pro to make videos above the woods behind my house. This didn't meet my needs unfortunately, and figured I'll mention this for pilots who saw this drone as a good fit to bring along when flying a drone like a Mavic Pro. Obviously, it's a different price range and while the specs are attractive, it is good to keep in mind the drone's limitations and set your expectations at this level (mine were too high...)

Great drone
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This a nice version of the mavic drone. I would hesitate to recommend for beginners as it lacks avoidance technology that exists in larger drones. Camera quality is excellent and it is very easy to carry in a backpack while hiking as it is small and light. If your an experienced drone pilot and would enjoy a smaller more compact drone with extended flight time then this drone is for you.

Incredible! overall
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was reluctant at first, but all my expectations were not only met but exceeded. It's flys very similar to its bigger brother the mavic pro. And gets the same if not better battery life! Very sharp image quality too, even for 2.7k. A bit of a let down on mostly auto settings (iso, shutter speed, ect) controls and lack of flat color profiles. And the biggest let down is no obstacle avoidance. This one seemed odd when this aimed toward novice flyers . Overall it’s a wonderful value considering the price.

So awesome!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven’t had it long, but this is seriously the coolest thing I’ve ever owned and it gets me out of the house in 2020! Easy to use, under 500 bux, under 250 grams. I was quite surprised by the picture quality! Battery life is awesome, but I still bought a second one. Would probably recommend the fly more combo, since I’ve easily spent that much on accessories that were included in the combo pack. Can’t wait to get out and about more with it.

Minidrone
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The mini works like the real big one. This is a amazing because has beautiful imagen colors and very good resolutions, the batery spend long time flying it works very good. My love it because is exactly like the descrition. Is not so big but see when it is flying and this is not too heavy mabe thats why the batery spend long time to get it down.

Great drone
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This drone is easy to use. The price makes it a great entry point for beginners. My reason for buying is that it weighs under 250 grams which means that I can carry it into other countries to get drone shots and it doesnt have to be registered and I dont need a pilots license.

Best drone ever!!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this drone for my husband, & he absolutely loves it!! He flies it almost every single day! He said the camera on it is excellent, takes the best pictures that he’s ever seen! It manages itself very well while up in the air, so far the wind hasn’t effected it in any way, he’s even tried flying it for a few minutes in the rain, & it handled itself perfectly! It stays very steady no matter how high you get it in the sky, & it’s never failed to return to home from wherever it’s at!! The only downfall so far, he wishes the batteries lasted a little longer than they do!! Such a fun toy but he’s limited to the amount of time he can play with it lol... but overall, it’s an excellent product, & we’re glad we purchased it!!!
