Where has this been all my life? I put my phone in the holder, turn it on, flip it to landscape and open my camera app. Press record and use it like a paint brush to "paint" what I want to record. The gimbal keeps everything smooth and level. Bought it for a trip to Bupest Hungary and made the best video of the Parliament while cruising the Danube at night. Everyone should use this. You dont have to use the DJI app but if you do, you can swipe a person on your screen and the gimbal will follow them around. The panoramic photos are amazing and lots of other things for me to figure out. When you activate the gimbal you can get the DJI warranty for $16 so dont get the Geek Squad protection. Get it 100%.

Coming from the DJI osmo mobile 2, this is a huge upgrade. The price is just right, there are not many features that justified me purchasing the Om5 and OM6 especially since this on has a better battery life. I use an IPhone 13 Pro Max and it handles the phone with ease, never struggles to balance the phone given it’s very heavy. The gimbal itself is super light weight and feel incredibly sturdy, very portable too. Although if you have a phone like mine I’d recommend using the phone without the case case that added weight to such a heavy phone might make the gimbal struggle. Anyways it’s very stable and it’s really easy to switch from horizontal to vertical mode.

PROBLEMS: I had issues with this. My phone is an S21 Ultra, which already sits close to the higher end of the weight capacity for this device (which means the gimbal struggles to keep up with what you want to do), but the main issue was how my phone could knock into the body of the gimbal. I also frequently had to use the Mimo app to adjust level with my unit. ***** DRAWBACKS: Speaking of the Mimo app, you have to download it straight from DJI's website with Android phones, and the available version is out of date. And you can't unleash your phone's full capabilities with the app. It would be excellent to be able to do all the automatic tricks the gimbal is capable of in 4K or a cinematic 24 fps. Unfortunately you can't. Also unfortunately, due to the design, which is friendly to using the magnetic attachment (I actually love that design), you don't get great articulation. 360° rolls are not possible. You also don't get the stick-on ring with this package (to have the magnetic attachment always affixed to your phone) - and they go for $20 separate. Finally, settling on a single point always takes time using this (it lags to catch up). ***** PLUSSES: You can plug your phone in to this unit to bolster operating time. The newer versions don't have the same battery life and can't. You can get neat automatic shots with the app fully utilizing the camera - so long as you have an iPhone. The gimbal is also fairly light, and you can attach your own extensions on to the 1/4" thread on the bottom, making for a diy selfie-stick (like the newer one, but with the bigger battery). ***** CONCLUSION: Best for smaller phones - preferably iPhone - so long as you don't need 360 roll shots.

Bought this to help film more stable videos of my daughters' cheerleading competitions. This coupled with a monopod made a world of difference. The overall stability and smooth panning made quality videos that were way easier to shoot with less stress. Because the video frame was so consistent, it also made it a ton easier to edit the videos later! The battery does great, lasting hours. It's very compact and travels well.

Works great! Stabilizes the phone(iPhone 14pro max) and makes the video look even better than the iPhone camera/video app. Plus you can switch from camera/video and portrait/landscape from the controls on the device as well as zoom in or out.

Absolutely fantastic. I was able to use it in 3 different occasions and there are some pros and cons. Pros: the magnet is REALLY strong on this one (iPhone 13 pro max with a case) yes it fits. Tested this while ziplining in Hawaii and a few other occasions-was intact the whole time, would not recommend though. The overall built is sturdy and the grip feels natural and secure. The in-app features are very helpful and customizable. Most of the shots I took were on FPV but I was able to play around with the Tilt-Locked and Spin Shot and they worked flawlessly. You can really play around with a lot of the different modes and set ups they have using the built in templates as well. The battery life was better than I expected. I used it quiet a lot on the trip (during car rides, entrances, whatever looked interesting) and still it didn't die out on me. The tri-pod attachment is a great accessory that it comes with. It was great for time-lapse shots of the beach and also it provides a little bit of height at times. Cons- It doesn't come with a case, it comes with a velvet bag. I don't really like throwing my plastics all in one bag to get scratched up so I had to purchase a case for it, Another issue is the phone holder. It barely fit my iPhone 13 Pro Max with a case on (it was stretched out all the way). Would definitely get a thinner case if you have the same model iPhone.

First time using a gimbal and it comes in handy. The battery life is also nice and long.
