|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I initially gave this gimbal 3 stars due to the app. But there seems to have been some improvements and now I can recommend it. Especially due to its affordability. I had the DJI Osmo 2 and this is much better. This model is smaller than the Osmo 2 which is a huge plus. The clip that connects to your phone on OM5 was a much welcomed change. On the Osmo, it was one piece but it is more convenient to have the clip that’s on the OM5. The magnet that holds the clip to the rod is powerful so no need to worry about your phone falling out of the clip. Now, I don’t like the way that it folds. It is very awkward to me and feels like I’m breaking it but that’s not a deal breaker. I like that it has an extension rod for more creativity or just to get a wider shot. It comes with a neat little pouch to use for traveling. I recently went to Mexico for vacation and I used this thing heavily. On the beach, in the restaurant, hotel, everywhere! I got some amazing shots using the app. There is a learning curve for using the app but once you use it a couple of times you’ll get used to it. I love the active track mode. There’s also different default modes you can use to help you record or take pics. Due to its affordability and ease of use I would recommend the DJI OM5 for your gimbal needs.
