Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the Osmo Mobile 2's ease of use, high-quality video, and impressive stability as significant advantages. Many also appreciate its lightweight design and generally positive price point. However, some users find the size somewhat cumbersome and have noted occasional challenges with the software and instructions. Despite these minor drawbacks, the positive feedback on video quality and ease of use strongly outweighs the negative comments.

      Hi Photographer,

While action cameras can be modified to fit, the main function of the Osmo Mobile 2 is to stabilize smartphone footage. DJISupport

Used this for my vacation in Italy. It was okay and hard to set up. People were looking at me because it’s too bulky. I didn’t return it, instead gave it to my brother which i don't see him using. Not our thing maybe.

I constantly have issues with the control feature that holds the phone failing and the phone facing down towards the ground (having to restart just to get to work again) - some sort of technical issue even with the app being up to date. Definitely not recommended.

balancing my iphone 8plus was a pain. it doesn’t ever achieve proper balance and the weight of the phone would throw off the center gravity of the holder. holder doesn’t have enough tension to hold the phone in place.

Hey Bonjon. Sorry you were having issues with the iPhone 8 Plus. It is definitely possible to balance that phone by simply unscrewing the balancing knob and shifting the device holder left and right until balance is achieved. DJISupport

A few weeks in and I love it. Learning Curve

I wouldn't call this the easiest device to set up for someone who is technically challenged and I consider myself technically savy. Everything done the first time was a little challenging. I've never used a Gimbal before so it was all new to me. Actually took to youtube to balance my iPhone 7 correctly and that was very helpful. Also Youtube helped me learn the buttons and features such as hyperlapse (which is super cool) and the button patterns for short cuts. The DJI Mobile App is pretty good once you get familiar with it. Balancing, learning the App and using the OSMO took a little time but once everything was setup, I finally began to enjoy it and can now really appreciate all it can do. Took it to an amusement park yesterday and took some amazing shots. The weight is not bad at all and the battery life is amazing. Used it for a few hours yesterday and the battery was still over 70%. Battery on my phone was a different story and that's something to prepare for. I brought a portable charger for the phone and would charge it when ever I had periods when I wouldn't need the gimbal. Everyone who has seen my videos are amazed by how clear they are. They all have that cinema effect. No more bumpy videos! One knock is that you can't charge the iphone and use it to film at the same time because the charging port is on the side that is against the arm of the OSMO when mounted. Again, I highly recommend this if you plan on using it. My videos look amazing. Just don't expect to buy this and be an expert in using it the same day. It took me messing around with it a few times before getting familiar enough to fully use it without fear of missing something important because I couldn't power it on in time or I didn't know how to set hyperlapse in time to get my shot.

First time I took it out of the box, it worked fine for me testing it out. Then when I actually went to use it a month later, it doesn’t balance when the phone it in it and the joystick won’t move it around. Paperweight!

Tried to insert my iPhone 8 Plus in its Otterbox Defender and in my wife’s Lifetouch Fre case, and neither one will fit. I will now either have to buy a new super slim case or take the phone out of its case every time I use the gimbal, which is both super annoying and offers no protection to the phone. Will probably return the gimbal - not worth the hassle.

      Hi Videodude,

I apologize that the Osmo Mobile 2 doesn't work with your phone cases. Unfortunately, the limitations of the size of the arms and motors require that the phones be under certain dimensions, and the balancing requirements require it to be under a certain weight. DJISupport

This second generation one is not as good as the first generation. You have to use the app at all times to make it work. Not as fluid, just not what I expected from FJI.

Hey Chibo. When using the Osmo Mobile 2 you are not forced to use the app. While using other apps will mean you don't have access to many features of Osmo Mobile 2, you should still have smooth stabilized video. DJISupport
