Get an OTG cable to connect the controller direct to your phone for more reliable connection. The controller is still a must have for the Spark, as trying to fly by gestures or virtual joysticks is gimmicky

Good controller for the value but should come with cable to directly connect it to your device running the DJI app. Don’t like the WiFi connection to the controller.

There are cables available called OTG cables. This removes the need for the wifi connection between Spark and phone if you are unhappy with any lag.

Posted .Hey Andy, removing the LCD was a cost saving measure. We've found that in actual use, that screen isn't a top priority to have and as such felt it was a good tradeoff when building a low-cost, yet incredibly powerful drone.

I was too frustrated and ended up using my phone. Waste of $$$.

However after firmware update, the remote turned into a brick. Checking in DJI forum, it is clear that it is a common issue than can only be solved by sending the RC to them. Stay away from remote!!!
