Rated purely on packaging: Nice package. Steel books are solid addition to any blu ray collection The directors cut is the only version on the blu/ray, One would need 4K to access the original theatrical version, I personally am not crazy about the film itself, but it is definitely worth a watch.

I had no idea that this was going to be so great. Even though some of the original stars are not in this of course, I think the director and writer went in the right direction with putting actors in for those parts that gave you the same aura as the originals. This movie was worth it all around.

Very well done sequel to my favorite horror movie. The suspense is fantastic. It does more to tie in the book than the original. You need to watch the original for it to make sense. Overall, I highly recommend the movie. Also, the video and audio is great in the 4K version.

I still don't know if "The Shining" needed a second act, but "Doctor Sleep" presents one that's fresh and definitely a worthy successor. Dr. Sleep is thrilling, disturbing, and overall satisfying, It's a faithful adaption of Stephen King's novel with just enough Kubrick to please movie nerds.

I had seen this The Shining when I was a kid. That was many years ago so I wasn’t sure if I would understand this one. Boy was I wrong. They explained everything thoroughly. I loved, loved loved this movie! If you like movies with supernatural powers and abilities then you will love this movie.

Not only is this a fantastic sequel to The Shining, it's an amazing movie as a stand alone film! Stephen King (author of the book, and avid hater of Stanley Kubrick's The Shining) himself gave this movie a nod of approval and that is a very difficult task to do. Love the steelbook case as well!

The movie on its own is a really good film but here in 4K UHD, the picture quality is almost second to none. Tonally, it's a dark movie and the HDR used here really keeps it from being an inky black mess. When the scenes are colorful and vibrant, the scenes really pop. I highly recommend it.

This movie is a masterpiece. It's been a long time since I've seen a film so entertaining, intriguing, and never slow at all in 2 and half hours. If you love the Shining, please watch this film! Loved this movie and the exclusive steelbook to go with The Shining made this a must own steelbook!

I saw Doctor Sleep in theaters when first released and was a bit underwhelmed, the film felt clunky, ill paced, and I wasn't certain if more needed to be cut or more needed to be added. But a little while later a director's cut was announced I needed to make sure how I felt, and upon the viewing it felt more cohesive, the added 28 minutes adds the heart the theatrical cut was missing.

A sequel to both film and book of The Shining and Doctor Sleep. Years following the events of "The Shining", a now-adult Dan Torrence meets a young girl with similar powers as his and tries to protect her from a cult known as The True Knot who prey on children with powers to remain immortal.

Danny Torrance goes back to Overlook where he had deep memories of what took place when he was a young boy to make peace so to speak with those memories; but all hell breaks loose and I don't want to ruin the ending for those that haven't seen it. You must see The Shining first to understand this movie. The Shining was fabulous and for those who liked that movie; this is a must see.

Awesome movie Doc Grows up and has to fight evil again but this time he’s not alone. Doc and Abra who has a powerful force of the shine. They go back to the hotel and have a final battle of good against the undead leader who wants there steam to stay alive.A great follow up to the Shining.

This movie flew under a lot of people's radar. I mean it's a sequel to The Shining. Really hard to follow that classic, yet somehow they did it and they did it really well. I loved this movie. The only thing that I can complain about is that the main villain wasn't very scary.

Almost forty years on, it captures the tone, spirit and vibe of that great film. What a truly worthy follow up to The Shining this was.....

I've never actually sat and watched The Shining, all I know of it are bits and pieces seen from the Simpsons and comment videos on YouTube. I was invited to a screening of this movie and I'm glad that I went. Doctor Sleep is a great movie, everyone should see it at least once.

The story is really good as we go back into the world of Danny Torrance. Last time we had seen Danny he was running from his dad in The Shining. Now Danny is all grown up and trying to hide his shine, and be as normal as he can be...not going to work as people are out looking for those who shine, and it spells trouble for Danny and his new friends.

It's a shame this film didn't do better in theaters because it's great! First thing to know- it's a sequel to the film, The Shining, not the book. If you're a fan of The Shining, see this movie! So many connections to that film; half the fun is connecting the dots! Highly recommended!

This is an excellent adaptation of an incredible Stephen King book that somehow manages the impossible of bridging the chasm of the Stanley Kubrick version of The Shining. This edition contains the director's cut, which restores nearly a half hour of cut footage.

I was impressed with the visuals and imagery of the original Shining movie. Casting was excellent. As for the story, It isn't a direct sequel but the film does help answer some questions of what happened after the events of the original movie. This movie has it's own story and direction but it much softer. I would liked to see a much darker film but I did enjoy the story it did tell.

This movie was awesome and I actually enjoyed it more than the original film, strange as it sounds. The performance of the film in the box office absolutely doesn't reflect the quality of the film in this case (which happens a lot, unfortunately).
