The game play is very much like Donkey Kong for the Gameboy (yes I went there). It has the 2D side view game play and is very simple while bringing in some new action. Even my wife, who doesn't really play videogames, enjoys playing it. My only reason for 1 less star is wanting to see the 3D play from the Nintendo 64, Donkey Kong 64.

Awesome game for kids. Our son loves Mario games and he plays this just as much, so that will give you an idea about gameplay. Fun!

Bought this game for my niece for Christmas and she loved it. She played it with her mom and it was a great bonding experience for them both.

This game is a blast! Brings me back to the 90’s! One thing I’ll say though is it’s not that easy. Not too hard, but it has some tricky parts

Came recommended by a family member and it’s definitely fun . I will say tho that some of the levels are hard for smaller kids to get thru.

I bought this for my 8 year old nephew and he loved it. It is not a violent game which I love and he really enjoys playing it. It is challenging but not so hard that it is not fun.

Kids loved the game and have been playing a lot. This was a gift and thankfully has taken the place of other games.

My boys have played this one mostly (choices choices), but its a great multiplayer game they play together, which is what us parents like.

Loved the old school donkey Kong country games. So it was fun jumping into this. Challenging at times yet always fun. Plus the visuals are top notch.

Donkey Kong a classic of course and wanted my kids to enjoy as much as I did when I was a kid.

I was tempted to buy the Wii U version a few years ago. Glad I waited. This version has cleaned up graphics and the inclusion of Funky Kong. Also now its obviously portable too.

Donkey Kong Country was always one of my favorite games. I am very happy they made a new one and release it on the switch. Now I can play a newer version of this game with my kids.

Kid loves this game. Cool graphics. Winter can be pretty dull here in the cuse but the game makes you feel like your in the Caribbean!

This is a tribute to all the older DKC games. I recommend this game to all.

This game really took me back to the 90s and my SNES days. Fun but difficult platforming, which, as a bonus, looks great on Switch. Cannot recommend it enough!
